I’m having my morning tea (geeks need geeky tea! Gotta love it! I’m partial to Prager’s blend) with some obscenely bad for you crumpets (these things should be illegal! Which is why I don’t buy them often! Bad! Bad! Bad!) this morning and I’m flipping through Bath and Body Works Look Book for Fall 2008.
I can’t help but a tad bit disappointed as it appears they aren’t releasing as much as they did last year. I think this accounts for the spending habits of Americans right now in a way as last year they had a slew of items released and this year I imagine they are trying to keep it simple.
It’s an interesting selection however I think it’s safe to say the Temptation 3-1 Shower Gels won’t be making a reappearance anytime soon and they may very well be gone for good aside from possibly small releases such as the Hello Sugar! Collection.
Typical coupons inside!
Black Amethyst is making a guest starring appearance on a five page spread lay out in the booklet. I got a lab sample of this and it’s rather deep and dark for Bath & Body Works. I’m testing it out and will review it shortly!
A new Spa line entitled Shea Cashmere will be available shortly. It seems like a comfortable scent that sports major moisturizing benefits. I’m curious about this one!
Body Cream $17.50 USD
Bubble Bath $18 USD
Body Lotion $16.50 USD
Although the Sleep Collection is not new they have added quite a few items to the line up that are interesting. The items are scented with Warm Milk and Honey and are limited edition. Available as of September 3rd online and in shops. These come in heavy glass bottles and are definately vanity worth. They normally come in Lavender or Vanilla Lavender variations however I think that the Warm Milk and Honey sounds rather fitting for a “sleep” collection!
Warm Milk and Honey Aromatherapy Pillow Mist $10 USD
Warm Milk and Honey Aromatherapy Body Lotion $13 USD
Warm Milk and Honey Aromatherapy Massage Oil $16 USD
Warm Milk and Honey Aromatherapy Luxe Bath $16.50 USD
Cancer survivor Marisa Accocella Marchetto teamed up with C.O. Bigelow to create an exclusive kit the proceeds of which go to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation. Each Kit is $36 USD and contains an array of C.O. Bigelow goodies housed in a cute cardboard suitcase.
A very small sneak peak of this year’s Winter/Holiday Collection:
Bit disappointed that the same old flavors are back for the Holiday selections. Although I am happy to see Twisted Peppermint back. A new Bath Parfait is being introduced as well which looks quite lovely.
Holiday Traditional Items will be available as soon as October 13! And as of November 3rd the Foaming Bath Parfait will be available for $12.50 USD.
And finally a few autumn bits to keep us happy!
All in all a rather nice selection of goodies from Bath & Body Works!
Lemming any of these items?

I recently got my greedy hands on Benefit B Spot while I was at Macy’s and although I wasn’t intending to buy after one sniff I knew I needed to have this.
I originally blogged about this but didn’t really think I’d indulge as I knew of a few other fragrances I really wanted to try prior to shelling out my cash for this particular scent however I sure am glad I decided to stop and sniff.
It’s simply gorgeous. I really should have know as such since Benefit’s Maybe Baby is such a roaring success with the Muse (and the Muse’s sister who possibly loves it more than me!).
The Muse’s stash of Benefit goodies!
Yay Benefit we have another winner!
I do so admit to thinking the notes on this particular scent were a bit wonky. I mean mangoes, freesia, peony and sandalwood sounds like ALOT to take on. Turns out they all work rather well together in a nice neighborly fashion to create Benefit B Spot.
I’m not great at explaining scent as you maybe noticed from my previous posts about perfume and such but I’ll do my best. The scent is very calming, very fresh, and very potent. The freesia is the most prominent note in the blend and it dominates however the edge of the sandalwood plus the floral and fruit take away from the cheapness freesia note to create a very unique and interesting blend. Freesia is a lovely scent however it does hold a certain cheapness about it simply because it’s used in so many body sprays around and after a while you begin to associate freesia with every $5 buck body spray you see hanging out on drugstore shelves.
However, the blend is very, very interesting and unique. It’s quite fresh but it holds a certain seductive feel about it. Interestingly enough spraying this on certain areas of your body will heat the fragrance and allow it to release the scent as your body temperature warms.
Benefit has always successfully created quality Eau de Toilette that holds well, lingers, and creates fantastic throw all day long. The lasting power on this is brilliant. It’ll take you from morning till night with absolutely no touch ups in between and in the case of Eau de Toilette that’s saying ALOT. The scent just lingers on and on!
Recently I was sitting in the back seat of the car with a colleague (and friend) from Chicago who asked what I was wearing. This was saying something as I had sprayed myself with B Spot at 5 AM and here it was going on 6 in the evening and I was obviously still smelling wonderful if she noticed! At $38 USD for 1.7 oz this is not alot to spend on a good quality fragrance that offers considerably long wear.
I think Benefit has ALWAYS excelled at creating super fragrances as Maybe Baby can attest to that.
Benefit B Spot gets a big rave from the Muse and a seal of Muse Approval for purchase!
Definitely head in to your local counter and try it yourself! I guarantee you won’t be able to walk out of the store without buying one for yourself!
Can’t wait? Click over to Benefit’s website and purchase one for your very self!
Wanna try it but not sure you wanna buy it?
This one is easy enough I’d say maybe a bit tricky too!
I’m sure you all know the translation tool Babel Fish correct? I use it constantly as I am always browsing different Japanese, Korean, French, Etc…websites! When my nifty translation widget I have installed in my browser fails me I turn to the popular Babel Fish to do all my translating for me!

Bath and Body Works Twisted Peppermint Shimmering Body Spray Review
The Muse’s Obssession with Bnever Perfume
Clean makes some outstanding perfumes but the price tag is a tiny bit high. At $76 USD per a bottle it’s a hefty amount of cash to splurge on a fragrance. However, it is well worth the twice considering it’s a parfum you’re investing in.
Eau de Parfum consists of about 15% perfume concentrates which makes for a long wearing, lingering scent that sticks around all day with a quick spritz or two! So at $76 USD you’ll not only smell wonderful all day but you’ll also have the bottle a good long time.
For those of you that aren’t so willing to dish out that much for a perfume yet have always yearned to try Clean or replenish a bottle you might already own you can now do so at a nicer price tag!
Clean has introduced a really great gift set called Twice as Clean which includes a two, 1 oz Eau de Parfums in two of it’s popular fragrance options. You’ll get a 1 oz Clean Shower Fresh Eau de Parfum and a 1 oz Clean Warm Cotton Eau de Parfum all for $48 bucks!
This makes a truly luxurious gift for a loved one or let’s be honest here..just grab it for yourself right? You know you want it!
I own all of the Clean scents in the larger sizes however the bottles in the kit are fabulous for travel or as I mentioned it’s cheaper than purchasing two full size parfums. You can get two different scents for a much nicer price tag!
Clean Shower Fresh is a beautifully fresh, just stepped out of the shower fragrance that’s a complex blend to describe. Although the notes are a unique blend of fruits such as Mandarin, Lemon, and Orange I felt like it was more of a clean, sweet scent that just smelled sort of, for lack of a better word, sudsy and fresh!
Clean Warm Cotton is pretty much self explanatory. Think of sticking your fluffy towels in the dryer with some softener and you pretty much can imagine what Warm Cottom smells like. It’s that beautiful, light clean scent that your favorite sweater holds in the Winter! Perfection!
I haven’t personally seen the kit for retail as of yet but keep scouring HSN and Sephora and I’m positive it’ll pop up soon so you can be Twice as Clean at half the price!

These are worthy of a mention. Behold, Victoria’s Secret New Beauty Rush line up entitled Tropical Coolers:
I’m not going to say these are amazing because they are sadly not. However, I was drawn in when I seen the display and scent selection. I found myself heading to the till to pay for three bottles while struggling to hold them all in my arms. I made it safely there and before I knew it I had shelled out $24 USD and tax.
I’ve tried Victoria’s Beauty Rush Body Double Mist before but as I said I was tempted by these new scents. If you’re unfamiliar with these they are simply a dual layer fragrance that mixes a fragranced water base with a fragranced oil base. This basically translates as you’re getting a moisturizing scented body spray!
They work fabulous on wet skin and it’s kinda the feeling of a dry oil spray that conditions, softens, and leaves behind a gorgeous scent.
Sadly, the thing that I dislike about these is the scent doesn’t linger nearly as long as I’d like. When you spray on the first time you get a super healthy amount of fragrance that smells both fresh and fruity however the staying powder is zero and within an hour you’ll need to retouch up sadly. This could be my body chemistry that sucks the scent right in but it does happen to my sister too so I’m not the only one experiencing the problem with these!
I’m quite upset at this because I do generally love the scents they put out and I’ve tried virtually all of ‘em but they don’t linger at all!
The three that sucked me in were from a new line entitled Tropical Coolers. It’s three new scents that are called Lotta Colada, Punchy, and Mango Madness! All three are super duper sweet and fruity and true to the name.
Shown below after being shaken. Once shaken the oil and water base combine to create a beautifully, conditioning body spray!
For the price you can’t really not avoid picking up one or two up to try out. They aren’t nearly so nice to tote around in your bag for touch ups since they are so big.
They really smell sincerely heavenly….now if we can convince Victoria’s Secret to make them a touch stronger we’d have a winner here!
Not so much?

The Summmmmmmmmmmmer wind came blowing in from across the seaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! It lingered there and touched your hair………….
Sorry I got caught up for a second there! Sinatra does that to me!
What was I saying now?
My review on Clean Summer!
Clean is one of my favorite lines of fragrance around. It’s one of the few lines of perfume that holds a wonderful linger, has a fantastic throw, and just contains unique, complex notes that just make me a happy Muse
Although Clean carries a rather hefty price tag you’ll be happy to shell out your hard earned money for some of their fragrances as they are Eau de Parfum not Eau de Toilette meaning long, lingering, gorgeous scent that lasts all day into the evening!
I own a majority of every single product Clean has put out thus far and I happily added the newest fragrance released from Clean to my collection recently entitled Summer! How fitting a name for a wonderful Summer fragrance!
Clean Summer is slightly different from previous Clean releases as it happens to be an Eau Frachie which means it contains almost no alchohol and is better for your skin and provides moisturizing benefits. Cool! A beautiful Summer scent that not only smells gorgeous but is also beneficial to my skin.
Although Eau de Frachie fragrances normally contain about 3% perfume oil this shouldn’t sway you from purchasing Clean Summer as the throw is quite good and the linger lasts throughout the day. I did three squirts on a humid day and I was left smelling yummie all day and well into the evening! I also happened to score about three compliments asking what I was wearing that day alone!
The notes in this are Crisp Bargamot, Rose Ice, Mirabelle Plum, Lily of the Valley, and Italian Limoncello. The fragrance is very complex and you won’t be able to pick out exact notes (unless you have a super sense of smell!) however I did find the dominant note was the Italian Limoncello. The lemon pulled through beautifully and just gave me that beautiful illusion of a fresh, cool Summer day. As humans we associate certain smells with certain events or times in our lives and Clean Summer happens to put me in the spirit of a lovely Summer day! It smells like sunshine in a bottle!
If you have a body chemistry that sucks scent and fragrance up you might want to consider layering Clean Summer with it’s matching Soft, Refreshing Lotion for added fragrance throw and staying power. The lotion has a gorgeous matching scent and has a light cooling effect on the skin!
I’m rather loving Clean Summer at the moment and I’m quite excited I got the chance to test drive it out. The Muse definately slaps a seal of Muse Approval on this one and adds it to the Must Have Summer Fragrance list!
I’ve only seen this on for sale at HSN so far. Click on over to nab it for $44.95 USD! This includes both the fragrance and the moisturizer as a kit! Not too bad a deal in my humblest!
