My x-boyfriend used to tell me I smelled like a Carnival, bakery, and sweet shop all rolled into one and that was fine by me. I love foody sweet fragrances and I always migrate towards them. They aren’t everyone’s thing but they are mine. Cinnamon buns, lollipops, strawberries…anything sweet and foody I’m all over.
That’s why Black Phoenix Mouse Circus Fragrance Oil is such a ME scent.
Yes.
Do love.

Doozers is one of the several Black Phoenix Aclhemy Lab Perfume Oils inspired by Fraggle Rock. BPAL launched a Fraggle Collection a few months ago and I’ve been slowing reviewing each one.
Being a fond fan of the Fraggles these perfume oils definitely tickled me as must have items. Perhaps I’m giving away my age but I remember watching the Fraggle as a child, needless to say after Jim Henson passed all of his muppet creations just weren’t the same. Just a note, as much as I am in love with and willing to have Jason Segel’s baby I couldn’t watch more than 15 minutes of him singing in the new Muppet Movie….I couldn’t finish it. It was cringe worthy. Did I miss anything good?
Now about those Doozers….
Doozers have the most thankless job in the world. They are tiny little green critters, quite cute, who spend long days constructing intricate roads, buildings, bridges, and more made from radish dust. Now here are these hard working critters creating these super elaborate buildings and in come Fraggles who basically destroy and eat those buildings. WTF!? Thankless job I tell you! But the Doozers don’t seem to mind as if the Fraggles didn’t eat their work they’d run out of building space!
Still if I broke my back making something and someone came in crushed and ate it I’d be all kinds of pissed.
There was actually one episode in the series where one Fraggle, maybe Red? Who proceeded to boycott eating their buildings because she realized how hard they worked but it turned out the Doozers would have to move away from Fraggle Rock and possibly die if they couldn’t build. So in the end….these little green creatures slave away creating radish dust buildings for a buncha Fraggles.
Shrug!
I dunno…as a kid it seemed logical as an adult I’m sitting here thinking WTH!?
Let’s just get on with the perfume review. My brain hurts trying to understand Henson logic.

Sephora’s Disney Jasmine Collection released this week to Beauty Insiders along with the new A Whole New World Eau De Parfum Spray.
Eep! There’s definitely a need to collect ‘em all vibe from these collections. If you have Cinderella’s So This is Love Perfume I imagine A Whole New World will make its way into your stash at some point. That is, of course, if you’re as diseased as I am and just need to collect them all!
If you think I’m bad with beauty you should see my with comic books and action figures. WORST!
I didn’t love Cinderella’s scent as I felt it was a little too mature and floral. Jasmine’s is quite soft and delicate and no sadly does not contain her namesake in the notes, sorry about that.
Take a look!

Wil Wheaton wrote a rather long post about his role as Wesley a few days ago. I swear I spent so much time on Usenet groups, IRC Channels, and Trek forums defending his character to my fellow trekkies it could have been borderline absurd. You know how you think people that fight on Facebook, forums, etc are absolute fools? At some point in my younger Internet life I was that fool, defending Wil Wheaton to the death.
Needless to say his perspective of the character never quite matched up with my own.
I must still be disillusion because no matter how many times I re-watch a Generations episode I still love Wesley. He was a freaking cool character, sorry, but I disagree with the haters (that includes you Wil).
I digress…another one of my fangirl moment stems from the fact Agent Provocateur has introduced a new fragrance. Wil Wheaton, Generations, Star Trek, Agent Provocateur, it’s all fangurlisms to me.
Read ahead.

When I was in the 7th grade I fell in love with the Cthulhu. Yeah, that sounded slightly weird and possibly a lead in for a Japanese fan girl hentai moment. Sorry, let me correct that, I fell in love with Lovecraft. It all started out with me being a terrible bookworm you see. I was all about reading R.L. Stine and other supernatural teen rubbish.
My teacher at the time duly noted my odd addiction to trashy supernatural novels and encouraged it by introducing me to some great works of literature. To this day I blame her for my odd love affair with Victor Frankenstein, of course, Sting might have helped a LITTLE bit as well.
7th grade year was also the year she introduced me to many of H.P. Lovecraft’s smaller stories and novels. Being an avid reader of Heavy Metal for over twenty years now you could imagine that H.P. Lovecraft’s “Weird Tales” were terribly appealing to my need for anything horrifying and unusual.
Heck by the time I was of age I was positive I’d be a perfect attendee for Miskatonic University.
Needless to say I’ve grown up a little and at this point in life anything with words on it I’ll pretty much read but I still so adore anything Cthulhu related. From old D&D references to new gaming ones, the Cthulhu Mythos has always had a spot in my heart.
Being terribly romantic I’d say the reintroduction of the Lab’s Cthulhu in Love Perfume Oil is a perfect V-Day treat to tell the one you care about how truly in love you are with them.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab, creator of obscure, unique fragrance oils, launched a Fraggle Rock Perfume Oil Collection a few months ago. I’ve been reviewing the collection for you the last several weeks and came across some fond Fraggle-y fragrances in the collection.
I’m old enough to remember when Fraggle Rock was on HBO and quite have fond memories of watching it (as an adult I even have the DVDs, should I admit that? Probably not!).
Red was a Fraggle I loved to hate. On one hand her positive, perky personality was quite inspiring but did you ever notice she had a slight case of bi-polar? Seriously, girlfriend was happy and energetic one minute and sad and dishearten the next. Poor, confused Fraggle.
At least her fragrance isn’t all over the damn scale.

Couture La La Eau de Parfum is the latest release from Juicy Couture for Spring 2013. I know, the name is weird but the blushing pink color of the fragrance looks very pretty….
The notes however could provide a little similiar to the original Juicy Couture Fragrance.
P.S. A book rec after the jump perhaps?!

Once upon a time, back in the 90′s, when it seemed like Jean Rochefort was much younger by not a lot, he starred in one of my favorite French films, The Hairdresser’s Husband.
As with many French films I’ve watched, The Hairdresser’s Husband contains its fair deal of sex, passion, romance, love, and some sadness.
The story revolves around a 12 year old version of Jean Rochefort’s character who falls in love with his hairdresser. Later on in life he romances and marries a similiar such hairdresser. Obviously his wet dreams about his childhood crush have carried well into his adult ones. And so begins an odd romance….!
Without giving too much away there’s a scene in the movie that showcases the characters having a drink of cologne and aftershave because they don’t have any liquor. It’s morbid, comical, and it always made me laugh.
Funny enough, leave it to Lush, to create a perfume based on this foreign film and dub it the Hairdresser’s Husband. I’m surprised that Lush didn’t make it edible as well so we could wear it and drink it as well.
But sorry, no reenacting fabulously memorable movie moments here, this is simply for wearing not drinking.
