Clean, Fresh Summer Fragrance: Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Coral Review

My sister is a real fan of clean scents. Cotton, linen, etc….really appeal to her. I can’t really say the same as I’m more of a sweet, fruity type myself. Recently, I tested out Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Coral and was pleasantly surprised at what a fresh, clean scent it was.

Click it for the review.

Although fruity blends speak to me in the Summer I admit that the freshness and gentleness of Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Coral seems an ideal scent for warmer, humid weather. The fragrance has a certain contradiction of complexity and simplicity. With notes of Chinese Berry, Pink Peppercorns, Apple Blossoms, Waterfruits, and Cear Aldehydes it combines to create a fresh, floral, crisp, clean scent that’s sure to please anyone who can appreciate a softer fragrance.

Linen does come to mind when it hits my nose first spray. Inviting and soft like a towel from the dryer. Drown down is more of a crisp, floral that still manages to remain fresh with an every so slight sweetness.

Truly Estee Lauder Pure White Linen Pink Coral is something special. I’m really enjoying this one for warm Summer evenings.

Beautiful, simply beautiful.

Who might like this?

  • Anyone who adores very fresh, clean scents.
  • Anyone who enjoys a lighter scent for the warmer weather.
  • Anyone who adores scents that are both fresh and floral.

Anyone smell this yet or buy?

Hot Summer Fragrance: Benefit Crescent Row

Benefit+Crescent+Row

Ok, so I gotta tell you. Benefit Crescent Row excites me. If you haven’t already heard Benefit Crescent row is a release of three brand new fragrances based on a strip of flats (apartments for the totally clueless) in Bath, England, which serve as a home to several imaginary gals. Their lives are filled with laughter, gossip, and seduction (damn these girl’s have it all) and each scent, bottle, artwork, and name was created to reflect the fascinating protagonists.

You know how terribly obsessed I am with England so of course I want all three of these but the real joy is the fact that Benefit knows good fragrance. One thing about Benefit they really put out great fragrance blends and I have the niggle in my noggin that these are going to prove to be something very, very special.

Jump ahead to read more and hear my story about Benefit past blends!

Now as I was saying Benefit has a nose for a good blend. Benefit Maybe Baby and Benefit B Spot are two of my very favorite fragrances. All of Benefit fragrances are Eau de Toilette but this doesn’t prevent each of their fragrances from being quality items with long linger and beautiful throw.

Picture+013

Benefit Crescent Row sounds like such a gorgeous little trio that will definately bite me with the pokemon, collect them all disease. With whimsical, shabby chic packaging and a cute little story surrounding each blend it’s hard to resist these!

The three fragrances are as follows:

Benefit Crescent Row Something About Sofia
Oriental Floral
Dreamy blend of oriental blossoms, mango & vanilla

Benefit+Crescent+Something+About+Sofina

Benefit Crescent Row Laugh With Me Lee Lee
Woody Floral
Light blend of citrus, jasmine & lily blossoms
Benefit+Crescent+Laugh+With+Me+LeeLee

Benefit Crescent Row My Place Or Yours Gina

Summer Scents: C.O. Bigelow Lemon Eau de Parfum Review

When word of C.O. Bigelow Lemon Eau de Parfum hit the Muse was quite hyped for a sniff. She loves all of the C.O. Bigelow Lemon Collection and the general idea of a lemony fragrance along the same vein absolutely thrilled her to bits and pieces.

Check out my review of C.O. Bigelow Lemon Eau de Parfum

Considering the formula is inspired by it’s Lemon Body Cream I was all about hauling this as quickly as I could get my greedy hands on it. I admit I was worried they’d end up messing it up with notes it didn’t need especially since the description reads of green lemon leaves, creamy undertones, and a warm white musk. That sounds all nice and lovely but honestly the Lemon Body Cream is more about straight up sweet, tart lemon without all the unnecessary extras. You know what I mean dontcha?

I was pleasantly surprised that it does indeed smells simply like lemon, particularly like C.O. Bigelow Lemon Body Cream. No fanfare here it’s just sparkling, fruity, and sweet, with a round of tartness which blends it out to a happy effervescent note that the body lotion lacks. It’s quite lovely and light, beautiful for Summer wear.

I absolutely love it.

C.O. went all out with the packaging on this guy as well. It’s a large glass bottle that’s 3.5oz in size but feels way larger. Right now it’s Buy Two C.O. Bigelow items and Get Two Free including this fragrance which regularly retails for $34 USD so if you have a friend (or just overindulge yourself) you can split the costs between the two of you. It retails for $34.50 USD and I think it’s well worth picking up. I admit I was slightly disappointed that it didn’t last longer on my skin so I was left touching up after two hours or so but regardless it’s such a nice Summer scent that I can’t resist Muse Approving it for purchase. If you absolutely adore the C.O. Bigelow Lemon line or you’re just simply a lover of lemony scents this one is for you. Truly a great blend for Summer!

Beauty News: Avon In Bloom Fragrance by Reese Witherspoon

Avon continues it’s growth as of late with it’s Fall launch of In Boom by Reese Witherspoon. Partnering with many celebs as of late Avon continues it’s growth spurt in a hard economy with many friendly budget options for the woman on a shoestring budget or even now appealing to those of us who prefer higher end brands.

In+Bloom+by+Reese+Witherspoon

Jump ahead to hear more about Avon In Bloom by Reese Witherspoon

Reese Witherspoon has partnered with Avon for her very first fragrance launch. The fragrance is a sensual, mysterious blend with top notes of peach, tea leaves, and crisp greens. The heart of the fragrance is a more floral blend featuring notes of gardenia, magnolias, and night-blooming jasmine.

Reese explains while developing In Bloom she was drawn to scents that reminded her of her childhood growing up in Tennessee, “We had a great big Magnolia tree in the back yard, and it’s that beautiful white blossom that inspired the perfume. In Bloom is indicative of where I am in my life today. I’m feeling very strong and independent, and so happy, so full of life. The fragrance truly captures that feeling—it’s very sensual, very romantic and alluring.”

The fragrance will be an Eau de Parfum and available in two sizes of 1.7oz ($34 USD) and a 1oz limited edition version ($59 USD). A body mist, lotion, and shower gel will also accompany the release for $15 USD each.

Reese was fully involved with the creation of In Bloom from the development of the fragrance to it’s name. She wanted the fragrance to be a true reflection of her own personal style.

Sounds interesting enough to me! I’m not too into floral but breaking the notes up with peach could make this appealing to me. I’ll be getting one to review for sure as count me curious plus I find Reese rather cute.

Bath and Body Works Cooling Mist in White Citrus Review

Ok, I admit I buy into all the worst gimmicky products. I’m kinda feeling like Bath and Body Works Cooling Mist is a gimmick but I can’t help but love it. Have you tried these yet? I actually ventured into Bath and Body Works a week or two ago (not by choice, my friend Jen absolutely had to go inside or have a coronary. I choose inside rather than perform CPR), braved the scary, scary vulture SA’s, and picked up Bath and Body Works Cooling Mist in White Citrus.

Likey!

Bath and Body Works Cooling Mist in White Citrus is a refreshing, cooling body spray. Yes, that would be the gimmick part I suppose. It seems terribly pointless to have a cooling mist that’s scented. I love the idea as it does feel wonderfully refreshing on my skin and very cool but the fact that it’s scented takes away from the point. Kinda? Sorta? Or maybe that’s me.

But the good news is not only is it cooling and refreshing it smells darn nice too. White Citrus is the newest scent to the BBW line and quite lovely. The scent is very fresh and clean with touches of citrus, a tiny itty bitty hint of musk, and plenty of crispy green notes. It’s been a while since any one scent from BBW has captured my interest but this is nice. Actually I liked it so much I may go ahead and order the other bits such as the body splash and such online. What? You didn’t think I’d go back into the store did you? Once a year is plenty to make my pilgrimage through a Bath and Body Works shop. When the SA’s learn how to get off my back that’s when I’ll start heading back in store.

I’m kinda feeling the love for Bath and Body Works White Citrus and Muse Approving it for purchase! Pretty blend for Summer! Get the cooling mist you can be cool and smell pretties.

Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Optimism Body Mist Review

Bath+%26+Body+Works+Aromatherapy+Optimism+Body+Mist

Anyone smell this yet?

It’s been a while since any one scent has captured my attention at Bath and Body Works but Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Optimism Body Mist, oh my gosh loves it!

Jump ahead for it!

I so, so hope that Bath and Body Works expands this line. They have always gone knee deep in for aromatherapy but never really touched base with it on a body fragrance level until now.

Love this so much. It’s such an uplifting scent. It’s a blend of jasmine, tuberose, and maté but for the most part it has a bright, cheerful almost citrus-like scent. It manages to linger incredibly long and has a nice throw too!

Considering it’s aromatherapy it does manage to give you a little lift in the morning after a few spritzes. Kinda reminds me of sunshine and sunny days!

We could all use a bit of optimism in our lives right now and Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Optimism Body Mist definitely holds the key to a quick smile on a busy morning! Spritz, inhale, breath deep, and grin.

Ahhhh loves it!

Anyone try?

Loving it as much as me?

Musings Poll of the Day: Victoria’s Secret versus Bath and Body Works

It’s a been a while since we had a beauty poll! Miss it?

Today is a poll of favorites! So what’s your fav place for Bath and Body goodies? Are you a fan of Victoria’s Secret or Bath and Body Works? If you had to choose one which would it be?

As for me I’m a big lover of Victoria’s Secret since they are a tad more on the unique side when compared to Bath and Body Works. Bath and Body Works used to have the edge with it’s interesting little cute items like the Temptations Collection but since they have gone very mainstream I find I prefer VS over BBW. Victoria’s Secret seemed to have more unique fragrances in their body splashes and they introduce some really fun items during the different seasons. So I’m def for VS.

How about you?

Victoria’s Secret Summer Collection 2009: Victoria’s Secret Pool Party Body Chiller Mist Review

The Muse was babbling to you yesterday about the Victoria’s Secret Pool Party Collection. Quite an exciting little collection of goodies to get hyped over to say the least.

Today I’ll be bringing you a review of the brand new Victoria’s Secret Pool Party Body Chiller Mists! Gotta love ‘em for a burst of refreshing Summer scent!

Check ‘em out after the jump!

Victoria’s Secret Pool Party Body Chiller Mists are available in three brand new, limited edition scents for $12 USD each or 3 for $25. The scents are Lemonita, Coolada, and Frostea. The bottles are shaped just like the Victoria’s Secret Double Mist Body Sprays which lead me to believe these were double mists but they are actually body mists.

As I mentioned in my original post about these I was quite happy to see they were body mists. I find body mists are easier to apply and the scent lingers a tad longer than the double mists. The double mists are quite nice but they apply a tad oily plus the scent just gets sucked into my skin and fails to last all day. I was hopeful these might last a while longer. As predicted they do last a fair bit longer than the double mists formula but within a very few hours time you’ll need a refresher but none the less they do last out considerably well when compared to double mists.

Out of the three Lemonita is my favorite. It’s a cool, tart, refreshing lemon scent. It’s rare to come across lemon scents that are true in body and this just hits the right notes. If your a fan of lemons you’re sure to love this. Frostea is a delightfully sweet, fresh brewed ice tea scent and Coolada is a Pina Colada blend that’s heavy on the coconut!

All three are unique, fun blends for Summer. Even though they fail to linger long I still love them and think they are worth picking up. The scents have Summer fun written all over them and the burst of scent they do provide really gets me in the mood for warm weather!

Likey!

Muse Approving these for purchase. I think they are worthy of a pick up!
