The Muse has been a long time Lush fan but she can’t honestly say she ever ran into Lush Ice Blue Shampoo. It’s recently been “brought back” via the Lush Retro Collection but for the life of me I can’t recall this shampoo. Was it during the Cosmetic to Go era? Was it during The Body Shop run? The Muse is clueless for sure but she thanks the gods above that it’s been brought back as it’s something special!
If you’re familiar with Lush Washday Greens just think of Lush Ice as the same thing minus the greens. It’s minty and fresh and it makes your scalp tingle and sing in joy! The scent is more of a spearmint smell and quite true to a fresh sprig of mint unlike Lush’s popular Freeze Shower Gel this doesn’t have that herbal, ocean water scent, it’s a good deal more pleasant and sweet smelling. I like Lush Freeze but I don’t love it since the water they use to make it morphs the scent into a medicine, herbal scent that isn’t entirely pleasant. Taking this into consideration I was worried that Ice Blue Shampoo might lean towards the same type of scent but thankfully it’s a fresh mint that’s quite addicting.
The shampoo can be pretty much be used on all hair types but do be careful as it may strip anyone with dyed hair as it’s a hardcore, stimulating shampoo that gets hair squeaky clean and washes silicons and build up clear away. It’s considerably more gentle than many other Lush shampoos but none the less dye jobs beware.
I have many Lush favorites and I’m happily adding Lush Ice Blue Shampoo to my favorite list. It’s fabulous and I highly recommend grabbing one, bet you’ll love it!
Muse Approved, no doubt.
Someone told me that March comes in like a lion and goes out like lamb but it was actually pretty tame this year but hells April now that was some sincerely crummy weather. April flowers brings May flowers, abso-freaking-lutely! It’s been rain and cold since almost the first day of April. Yak! With showers brings many bad hair days all around. Frizzy nightmare! The rain makes a Muse’s hair stand up on end like Einstein. Granted the geek inside the Muse doesn’t mind in the least being compared to Einstein however she’s not so sure about the hair.
Have no fear Sunsilk Captivating Curls has me covered to keep the evil frizz at bay and keep my wavy, curly hair nice and tame!
With four ways to tame your curls it’s easy enough to avoid scary Einstein hair with a full line of budget friendly products from the new Sunsilk Captivating Curls Collection.
Sunsilk Captivating Curls Shampoo and Conditioner features plant extract aloe-e to help tame unruly frizz and define curls. The Must thinks it smells rather pretty of peach and gardenia so you’re left with fresh scented curls as well as tame ones.
Sunsilk Captivating Curls De-frizz Leave-in Creme is my new best friend, totally repurchasing when I run out. It’s a soft cream conditioner that you can leave in for taming frizz and keeping curls happy.
Sunsilk Captivating Curls Gel & Cream Twist is a unique blend that provides conditioning benefits of a cream and a gel. This does a great job of taming frizz and defining curls but it weighted my hair down a fair bit so I did have to use with caution.
Lastly Sunsilk Captivating Curls Scrunching Mousse creates full-bodied, bouncy curls for a romantic look. Kept curls tame, controlled, and beautiful.
Although the Muse is a lushie haircare girl at heart she can appreciate the fresh scent and curl taming power of the Sunsilk line plus who doesn’t love haircare that costs under $4 bucks. Loves it. If you’re looking for a line to get your curls under control do check out the SunSilk Captivating Curls Collection!
Snag your wellies and head out in the rain to sing because SunSilk has you covered, be gone frizz!
What do you use to de-frizz?

The Muse recently discovered The Body Bakery and couldn’t help but be suckered in by the allure of various skincare and haircare goodes that were customized in scents of her own choosing like Cookie Dough, Bubblegum Ice Cream, and Vanilla Cupcake!
Take a trip with the Muse through a bakery for your body in this edition of Beauty Discoveries!
The Body Bakery pretty much has everything one could want for their haircare, skincare, and beauty regime but with a little bit of a sweet, bakery twist! Cupcake Conditioner? Check. Whipped Cream? They got that too!
The Muse recently tried out two of the offerings from The Body Bakery and couldn’t help but get quickly addicted. Cupcake Conditioner in Sparkling Fruit Punch has been detangling my hair all week and making me smell fruity and sweet (so much so that I get many a compliment of, “what is that sweet smell?!). Packed in a large tube with a pump this luxurious conditioner contains plenty of softening oils to add shine to my hair and volume. I can even multitask and use it as a shaving cream! As I mentioned above, Body Bakery offers a customized option for scenting any of their products in a scent of your choosing! Cool, likey! I choose Sparkling Fruit Punch which is an overly sweet (just like the Muse), fruity affair. The scent of lingers long time and gives off plenty of throw. This Muse couldn’t help but sniff her hair every two secs just to enjoy the smell! The formula is nice and thick but doesn’t weight my hair down thankfully.
I also tried out The Body Bakery’s Soap Cake in Orange Chiffon Cake….mmmm so yummie. Cake and orange go so well together. This chunky soap is made from shea butter and silk foam so it gives an extra moisturizing, soft cleaning to skin! My shower was smelling like Orange Chiffon Cake this morning and I was loving it all the way. Nothing like waking up to the smell of cake in the morning!
The Body Bakery caters to just about anything you might be looking for including cosmetics! Lip Butters, Mineral Powders, and glosses are all available in shop plus plenty of options for haircare including shampoos, conditioners! Truly it’s a one stop shop for all your beauty purchases plus the customizing options make it all the more appealing.
If you’re looking for something a little bit different I suggest checking out The Body Bakery, the Muse thinks it’s a fine Beauty Discovery. Special thanks to Lia at The Body Bakery for offering readers of the Muse’s blog 20% Off your total purchase by entering promo code MUSE at checkout! Yay!

The Muse has a thing about salon style shampoos and conditioners. After cutting her hair she’s always charmed by the shiny display of hair care. To add insult to injury I’ll have my stylist seducing me with the items she used in my hair after the cut. “You know your hair would really love so and so shampoo…” and of course the Muse feeds into the frenzy and purchases whatever it is she used because my hair is smelling and looking so amazing.
Although I’m a Lush girl at heart I’ve been known to cheat! Recently, I couldn’t help but cheat on my hair care regime with I.C.O.N Haircare. Oops forgive me Lush for I have given over to fresh smelling salon style shampoo and conditioner and loved it!
One of thee most important things (and appealing for that matter) about I.C.O.N. Shampoos and Conditioners are the great formulas. Using pure ingredients makes the products very easy on the hair with minimal build up so your hair is clarified, cleansed, and conditoned minus heavy silicons. Likey! I tested out I.C.O.N. Drench Shampoo and I.C.O.N. Feels Free Conditioner. Each has a beautiful salon style scent that leaves hair fresh and pretty smelling.
Drench is a moisturizing shampoo meant to address hair that needs extra moisture. It hydrates dry, unruly locks and works at protecting it while hydrating.
Feels So Free is a moisturizing conditioner that’s incredibly light weight so it leaves hair hydrated without weighting it done, double likey!
I admit I’m very picky and snotty with my haircare particularly because I’m such a lover of Lush but these were essentially two very nice products for treating my hair without weighting it down which always impresses as normally salon or drugstore brand haircare weights my hair down terribly and stresses it out. These are both very light weight, cleanse hair beautifully, and offer great moisture while giving me a good, solid hair day.
The Muse thinks they are well worth checking out for yourself if you’re in the market for a brand new haircare regime. Not bad at all, likes it!
What are your fav salon style shampoos and conditioners?
Ever try I.C.O.N.?

If by some chance you’re looking to wash that man right out of your hair and everything else with it, that would mean it’s about time you tried out Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo.
Hello, my name is the Muse and my hair has been silicon free for years now.
Ahhh the joy of living life with silicon free hair. It’s like having a good hair day every single day! Lush Shampoo and Conditioners are silicon free which means that hair is not weighted down with tons of yucky additives. Additives which give you bad hair days, frizzy hair, flat hair, oily hair and just general hair woe. Although on occasion my hair does crave a little silicon I try to use silicon based products in moderation.
The moral of my story is if your hair is not feeling it’s cleanest and you’re wanting to detox, I’m highly suggesting you grab yourself a big bottle of Lush Antiphilitron and call it a day. You’ll be happy you did!
What is it?
Think of Antiphilitron as a bottle of detox for your locks. It rinses your hair clean of oil, buildup, silicons, and more! What it leaves behind is pure joy! Your hair will feel lighter with a single use, more manageable with less frizz (if you suffer from frizz that is). If you have oily hair you’ll be all the more excited as this works amazingly well on oily scalps to create pure hair bliss! The formula is lemon based which makes hair shiny as well!
Now my hair is a bit on the dry side so I use this once or twice a week to detox my tresses. I use Lush King of Mods and although it doesn’t build up in my hair it does leave my hair feeling a bit oily plus during the week I’ll occasionally reach for my Skindazzles custom conditioner which is loaded with silicons. To rinse all this out I simply use Antiphilitron once or twice a week for a glowing head of hair! Loves it!
Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo wasn’t available for a really long time as it was discontinued but it was brought back recently with Retro Lush! Who knows how long it’ll last but I sure hope they keep it around for a while as it’s simply awesome!
Who might love it?
- Anyone with oily hair!
- Those who want squeaky clean hair.
- Anyone who’s hair is loaded down with build up from product use such as gel, hairspray, silicon shampoo, and conditioner.
- Anyone who wants picture perfect hair everyday single day!
Lush Antiphilitron Shampoo is simply amazing stuff and comes with my highest Muse Approval for purchase! I heart this stuff in a big way! Pick it up! It’s a must have!
