So you wanna know the deets on the new MAC Prep + Prime Beauty Balm SPF 35 eh? I’ve had it for several months now heck maybe it’s even been a year….I believe mine came from Duty Free in either Japan or Singapore, not sure which. This was around the original date when it was available within Asia only.
The tube I’m reviewing for you is from Asia but I do want to indulge in the one that has released on our shores as well just to see if the formulas are the same. I suspect they are but out of curiosity I will be buying the other version and comparing the two for any differences.
If you’re unfamiliar with BB Creams or have questions about them I do suggesting familiarizing yourself with them by clicking here.
Hmmm word on the street is that people are pretty happy with the new Dr. Jart Water Fuse Beauty Balm SPF 25 PA++ that debuted at Sephora recently.
After trying the Dr. Jart Premium Beauty Balm BB Cream and being disappointed I was excited to try this version since many of you seemed quite pleased with it.
With BB Creams finally taking the Western market by storm I was quite hyped about testing out US formulations of a BB Cream plus add to the fact that we’d have options available that were easy to purchase and needless to say you can add to my excitement. Most folks that have never tried an Asian BB Cream will probably rave the new collection of Dr. Jart BB’s available at Sephora. It’s a given that having never tried something superior that you’ll instantly like these rather brilliantly formulated products however being a connoisseur of BB Creams I can honestly say so far these options prove very, very low calorie compared to Korean BB Creams.
Let’s take a peek!
Japanese brand, Boscia, brought the second BB Cream release to the US market late last week. With the introduction of BB Creams incoming to the Western Market you’re bound to see quite a few from your favorite brands popping up in the next few months.
Like many of you I’ve expressed both joy and concern about BB releases in the US. I think we all love the idea of easily getting BB Creams at our fav stores and counters however we also worry that the formulas will change from the traditional Asian BB Creams we all know and love.
So far, I was terribly disappointed in Dr. Jart’s attempt…!
Let’s take a pick at the new Boscia BB Cream and see what it offers.
Korea is the birth place to the BB Cream but within the last year or two the trend has branched out to various Asian countries with brands featuring their own version of the BB Cream.
I’ve been using BB Creams for about three or four years now. They are my foundation of choice as they do wonders for dullness and dry skin in my opinion.
Up until now BB Creams have not been available within the US and brands such as Estee Lauder and MAC who all have released a BB Cream in some shape or form in Asia have not extended the same friendlessness to the western market. It’s understandable they haven’t released the product here since many of these BB Creams offer whitening and brightening options something that isn’t necessarily embraced by American women.
A true BB Cream offers an anti-aging formula, pigmentation that conceals and acts as a foundation, brightening or whitening benefits, and a high SPF, and has some sort of healing benefits for scarring. Supposedly the formula was created by dermatologists and prescribed to heal laser skin surgery patients as it contained soothing ingredients and had skin regeneration properties.
In my experience it hasn’t healed any problems areas and I honestly can’t say if it’s preventing or slowing the aging process but I do have my doubts about this. I will say I love the coverage, I love how lightweight it is yet pigmented, and I love how it instantly eases dullness and makes my skin look refreshed, awake, and gorgeous.
The exciting news is of course the fact that Dr. Jart has released two BB Creams to the US market that are available at Sephora. This is the first time that BB Creams have made their way to the western market officially and I have a feeling you’ll see alot more of them as the months go by.
I purchased Dr. Jart BB Beauty Balm which is one of two new BB Creams available at Sephora. I was very eager to compare it to the many Korea BB Creams I’ve tried and particularly to the Dr. Jart BB Creams from Korea that I have.
Let’s take a look!
Finally the US is catching the BB Cream bug. I’ve been using BB Creams for about three or four years now. They are my sole foundation option simply because they are one of the few base products that don’t oxidize quickly on my skin. Add to the fact that they are super creamy and moisturizing for my dry skin and I’m a happy girl indeed.
If you’ve never tried a BB Cream or you simply don’t know what one is please visit an old post I did by clicking here to brush up on what a BB Cream is and does.
I’m really excited today to announce that Dr. Jart has brought his BB Creams to Sephora!
