Majolica Majorca has updated it’s main portal with the brand new Summer Collection for ’09 entitled Innocent Pleasure. Although I can’t say I’m all that excited about Majolica Majorca Innocent Pleasure, I can’t deny that I always feel a certain hype about viewing the new items released.
Jump ahead for a peek!
In typical Majolica Majorca fashion you have to “find” the new items on the site. The theme of Innocent Pleasure is portrayed in an Adam and Eve-like fashion with a tree, a snake, and tempting goodies hidden within the three.
The collection does make me wired for the new palettes as this is quite a large Summer Collection especially when compared to last year’s extremely tiny release.
A total of eight palettes are being introduced which is pretty huge for MJ. That’s a whole lot of palette. Although the release of eight palettes is very, very exciting, I personally can’t help but be disappointed by the same ho-hum color collection that’s typical to MJ and most every other Japanese brand. Sigh. Aside from RD784 I’m not feeling the love for any of the shade selections although I imagine I’ll indulge in a few if not all since I collect MJ palettes (diseased am I). GR780 should excite those who missed out on GR741 the limited edition palette
from the Spring 2008 line up. It’s not a total dupe but it is fairly different for MJ to go with aquas/teals.
A brand new solid perfume is also released. I’m not sure as of yet what it smells like but it also looks a tad uneventful but of course, again, I’ll def indulge. And finally several new nail polishes.
All in all I find it very exciting that MJ released eight palettes but a bit crestfallen it’s the same old colors over and over. Many of the shades are quite similar to palettes I already have from the line. Oh well. One of my readers, Jenn from Japan, was nice enough to share her pamphlet she got while viewing Majolica Majorca at Welcia. Thanks Jenn! We heart you!
The Muse can’t begin to tell you how much she misses and mourns T’estimo. It was one of her very favorite Japanese brands of all times. I can’t look at most of my collection without sobbing in grief that it was discontinued. Why, god, why!
What in the world were they thinking when they axed T’estimo from the Kanebo line up? Insanity.
The Muse yanked out a few of her T’estimo palettes for a little stash spotlight!
Jump ahead for a peep!
The Muse wanted to pull out her entire T’estimo collection but she started sobbing as soon as she seen the T’estimo logo….so you’ll have to settle for a few pictures of her beloved palettes.
Oh the agony…why Kanebo? Why!?
Are you a T’estimo lover?
My stash of Lavshuca palettes has gotten considerably smaller over the years as they release more and more palette styles and colors that I am none too fond of. I believe the last time I indulged was last Summer. I’m hopeful this Summer we’ll have more of the same great palettes from Lavshuca rather than a rehash of terrible colors.
Until Summer the Muse hauled out some of her Lavshuca to do a Stash Spotlight on!
As I said Lavshuca has failed to catch my fancy as of late. Lord knows it’s an epic fail lately. I am so terribly eager for news of the Summer Collection to reach my ears (hopefully good news and not disappointing news!).
I’ve been collecting Lavshuca for a few years now and I embraced the brand new packaging with glee however I do miss the certain princess feel the brand used to sport however I’m still loving the new slicker clothes.
Could be the sparkle, the smallness of the palettes, or just the fact that it’s Japanese but Lavshuca has a special place in my heart even when it’s busy putting out crummy shades!
Here’s a few pictures of my stash of palettes!
Lavshuca lover yourself?
Longing for something better from Lavshuca?

Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color in Platinum Gold was released as part of the Spring Collection this year and proved extremely difficult to get a hold off. Almost as soon as it released it was sold out in Japan right away. See kids? Japan knows what LE really means!
Jump ahead to hear a rave about Platinum Gold!
Proving to be one of the most elusive items to date that the Muse had to track down, Jill Stuart Jelly Eye Color in Platinum Gold also happens to be the most beautiful. After it selling out in Japan I had to quickly located it in Taiwan, which bless be, it was easy enough to locate. It’s understandable why it was so popular as it’s probably one of the prettiest shades in the Jelly Eye collection. The color is a white gold with contrasting silver shimmer and sparkle. It’s heavy duty sparkle so if you’re not a lover you’d best keep away from Jelly Eye Shadows in general.
Although it’s a cream shadow it blends effortlessly and creates a soft, subtle golden shimmer on the lid that can only be described as stunning. It also lends a certain lightness to my eyes so it’s particularly nice if I’m having a dark circle day or baggy eye day as this will brighten up my eyes a fair bit. I’ve have a few of the Jelly Eye Shadows before and I really like the formula. As I mentioned the formula blends easily and it’s also very light and smooth, not heavy at all, so it feels silky on. Although for some the amount of shimmer could be a deal breaker. It doesn’t dry quickly so it gives plenty of time to blend the shadow out, I’m a sucker for cream shadows that don’t dry right away as I think this causes woe for blending. The shadow comes housed in a gorgeous jar with a pretty silver top, very feminine and elegant.
The shade is probably my favorite from the line so far and is truly a pretty addition for Spring. It may prove slightly difficult to find so I suggest trying KATE Gel Eyeshadow in GD-1
or Coffret D’Or Fluffy Shine Eyes in 03.
Both of these options are easier to find stateside and cheaper as well!
Apologies for my bare lips in the photos!
I’m looking forward to seeing what Jill Stuart has in store for us this Summer! I’ve been kinda off the Jill Stuart bandwagon lately but I’m always excited for new release.
Since I was busy musing about KATE today I couldn’t help but bring out my very favorite KATE palette of all time to muse over. KATE Glamtrick Palette in GN-1 holds a special place in my heart and is possibly the greatest palette in the world for creating a smoky green eye look in a few steps!
Released with the KATE Spring Collection 2008, GN-1 contained a beautiful selection of greens to create a sexy, flirty green eye look that’s made my eyes sizzle with life. I absolutely adore this palette! It’s since made many of my all time favorite lists and has been the source of plenty of posts here!

I couldn’t help but share the love today for GN1! Truly a great little palette that does an incredible smoky eye. Gorg! See my Musings on KATE Glamtrick Palettes for further information!
