Jelly Pong Pong Nicola Roberts Dainty Doll Concealer Review

Ahhh concealer round up continues today with a concealer from across the pond!

Chances are if you’re not living in the UK or up to date on your British Pop Culture you don’t know who Nichola Roberts is.

Nicola Roberts is a member of the girl band Girls Aloud and now a creator of her own makeup line. Jelly Pong Pong released the collection from Nichola Roberts in April and it sold out pretty quickly online which accounts for why I never nabbed some for myself. By the time I did get a chance to look through the collection it was sold out completely. However, the good news is ASOS still sells all of the collection (They ship worldwide btw).

After much debate with myself I decided to order the concealer and a few other items. I was highly doubtful I should order any of it since the collection is geared towards fair, pale, and milky completions. Since I’m so obsessed with lighter products and whiter skin I decided I’d give the concealer a shot.

I really wanted to love this. It sported cute packaging, came in a similar style jar as my beloved Benefit Boi-ing, looked moist and creamy, plus the price wasn’t too bad at £8.00.

I made my first mistake when I ordered the lightest shade which was fair. It comes in fair and natural and I’m thinking natural might have been better suited to my skin. Although fair worked ok it was just a bit too light. I was hopeful that lightness would brighten my eye area up but all it did was make me look unnatural. The product is pigmented enough to cover blue or darker circles on fair skin and will offer some brightening benefits for a shade or two lighter than fair.

Please take note the skin on the back of my hand is much darker than the skin on my face

I made my second mistake when I assumed this would be moist and creamy. It’s not either sadly. The texture is very hard which makes blending extremely difficult even after warming the concealer on the back of my hand. The worst part is how it creased into my fine lines and actually dried my eye area out even worst than it already is! Eep!

I don’t want to give this a complete poor review because I believe that it can be extremely good for a few select people. Younger girls can definately benefit from this if you’re eye area is woe free (example: fine lines, moist skin, etc…) and I also think it’s ideal for pale, creamy complexions. It has to be thee most flattering shade I’ve seen on the market for a fair complexion. Finding the right shade of foundation, concealer, etc..when you have very fair skin comes with drama so the idea behind this entire line is simply awesome for those of you lucky enough to have a gorgeous, milky complexion.

Who this might be good for:

  • Fairer Skin
  • Younger Skin
  • Line Free Skin
  • Normal Skin that’s not dry

Those who should avoid it:

  • Older Skin
  • Finely Lined Skin
  • Dry Skin

It had it’s strong points and I think it could possibly be a Muse Approval if I fit the criteria of being younger, less lines, no dry skin, etc….

However, since I’m 30, sport some fine lines, and have a dry under eye area it simply did not work for me.

I’m quite disappointed as I really wanted to love! Stay Tuned Next Week when I review the Dainty Doll Foundation! Maybe that’ll be good!? We shall see!

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Cushion Review

How about a lip treatment that’s amazingly tasty plus super emollient, glossy, and contains good for you ingredients to heal lips.

Sounds great right?

It is.

I was recently testing out Jelly Pong Pong Lip Cushion and I must say it’s on my favorite hit list at the moment! I’m lucky I even got the chance to review this because I was tempted to eat the entire jar instead of slicking it on my lips! Hey, I can’t help it! It smells amazing and tastes so yummie I couldn’t resist!

Picture+193

Before I get to the main review I should rave about the uber cute box and packaging on this! It comes in this really cute pink box that sports a lovely little cut out butterfly on top! So sweet! I’ll definately be storing this in the box rather than tossing it out! I love cute packaging!

Picture+190

Picture+191

The actual Lip Cushion is housed in a clear plastic jar with a cute little gold cap with pink lettering on the top spelling out Lip Cushion by Jelly Pong Pong on top.

Picture+194

Jelly Pong Pong Lip Cushion is available in two selections, Crush and Syrup. I believe both taste the same and the finish on both is probably the same too which is a translucent tint. The gloss isn’t pigmented but more a sheer gloss. I have Crush which looks like strawberry jam and tastes just as good. The taste is a sweet rose, berry flavor that you’ll want to lick right off your lips! Truly a perfect kissing gloss! Although both selections probably have the same finish it hasn’t stopped me from wanting to purchase Syrup! Cheeky Muse I am I must collect them all you see!

Picture+196

The formula is similiar to Shu Uemura’s Gloss Lacquer. It’s slick, glossy, highly emollient and wonderfully moisturizing. All the best things we want from a balm right? The balm also happens to promise to heal chapped lips! Fancy that! Sadly, the Muse is not currently sporting chapped lips but don’t worry I’ll tell you the low down on Lip Cushion’s healing abilities come Winter when I’m sporting cracked, dry lips!

Picture+198

If you love glossy lip balms there is absolutely no question that you’ll want to try this! It’s a perfectly cute and sweet balm that deserves some of your time and attention plus at
£6 you can’t seriously go wrong by picking up at least one! Click on over and purchase one or two!

Sportin’ some Jelly Pong Pong Lip Cushion!

The Muse likey Jelly Pong Pong Lip Cushion and says go and grab some for yourself! Do keep in mind I can’t be held responsible if you eat this!

Jelly Pong Pong Review

I got a very nice package this week filled with gorgeous bits and pieces from Jelly Pong Pong!

Since I have all this lovely new makeup to play with I thought I’d share a review of it with my gorgeous readers!

Picture+030

Remember how much I hate bronzer? Well I’m happy to report that the Jelly Pong Pong Omnibronzer is quite an interesting little product!

Jelly Pong Pong Omnibronzer

It comes in a faux leather case (this will keep my spare change from getting lost on the bottom of my purse) that you can unzip to get to the actual compact, very chic and cute in the Muse’s opinion! The compact is tiny and quite sweet with the powder on top and a flip lid to reveal the super soft brush beneath. So I’m very weary of bronzers of any kind they just don’t agree with me or my skin however this particular bronzer shows up a lovely healthy peach color on my skin!! I was shocked as the actual color of the powder is a typical brownish muddy color that I detest with a passion but upon stroking it on my cheeks it makes me look quite fresh and healthy! To say I’m impressed is an understatement! I need a back up of this amazing stuff!

The bronzer is a universal color and should work on all skin types! It’s available for $29usd from Jelly Pong Pong and well worth the price tag as it could be the most perfect shade of peach I’ve come across!

Next up the Supermodel Stain which like the Omnibronzer comes in a cute little compact! This compact is super small but has quite a nice bit of product inside! It’s pink in color and features three “models” on the cover (guess that’s where the name comes into play right?). The color I got is Slenderella and I was a bit weary as it’s really a pale shade of pink which would be much better suited to a very fair skinned person! However, I’m happy to report that it works perfectly on my skin tone and it gives me a sweet flush of color! Anytime I use cream stains or blushes I always get the look of “just out of the cold weather” and this is no different it gives my cheeks a bite of color that’s very natural and young! 5 colors are available from the website and each compact is $19usd! The Muse is now lemming Nymphette and Cupcake Pout which both look quite appealing!

The item I’ve been lemming for a while and wanting to try is the Gourmet Lip Therapy and I’m lucky enough to have gotten my chance to try it in the flavor Real Honey! First of all the packaging on this is ultra cute with a pop up design when opened (you’ll see my pictures in this post for yourself). The actual gloss tastes like I’m slathering honey on my lips minus the stickiness of real honey! It’s quite a slippery emollient lipgloss which is exactly the way I prefer my gloss as it glides on easy and doesn’t leave my lips feeling tacky, sticky and just gross! Gourmet Lip Therapy comes in three flavors and are $16usd!

Love multitasking makeup? I do. On the days I’m too bloody lazy to bother with a full face I turn to the easiest and simplest ways to make myself presentable and pretty! Jelly Pong Pong offers Love Rouge to multitask my way through cheeks and lips in one easy step! Love Rouge is a duo of colors that can be used as a touch of color on your cheeks or a slip of color across your lips! Easy, Simple, Out the door quickly! I love multitasking makeup icon wink $16usd nabs you a cute duo of color to make makeup simple when life is being complicated!

Teint Sublime is something that actually DOES what Benefit That Gal promises! When I originally seen the color of this I was thinking it was a big no for me. It’s a baby pink that could not look great on me! However, upon trying it I’m shocked to say that it brightened my rather dull skin up and created a nice soft matte finish to my skin for makeup application! Now this is actually to combat skin problems such as dull skin, red spots, etc….however I found it works great as under makeup primer! I even felt like I didn’t need to wear foundation after using it! Interesting little product! It’s available in a variety of formulas to combat common skin problems and in my opinion well worth the price! I do believe I need more of this! $20usd gets you a nice size amount to clear up skin woes and make you gorgeous! I forgot to add the packaging is kinda awesome on this (hey I’m a geek! Packaging sales cosmetics for me)! It’s a cardboard box with a zipper that actually works! How freaking nifty is that? Sorry but these little touches really tickle me!

One product that fails to wow the Muse was Gloss BonBon! This is a multitasking gloss and cheek stain like Love Rouge. I haven’t actually used it on my face as of yet but I did use it on my lips and didn’t like the texture. It was a really weird chalky gloss that was doing nothing for my lips! I’m curious how it’ll look on my cheeks but I’m not sure after trying it on my lips if it’ll be any better on my face! This is available in a variety of colors for $12usd and maybe one of the other colors would work better on me I’m not sure but this one wasn’t great for the Muse!

Overall I’d say Jelly Pong Pong has some very interesting little products that I really enjoyed trying out and reviewing for you! My wish list is quite huge after wandering on the site and I feel the urge to do an order very shortly! Stay tuned icon wink I’ll update you with what I get and what I think!
