Summer feels like it’s around the corner today as we have a spurt of lovely warm weather today. I hope it’ll be as nice for the weekend as I’m away for it.
As the weather starts to warm up you’ll start worrying about lighter coverage, more sun protection, a light wearing moisturizer, etc…. This is where play creams come into my beauty world. My skin is dry in the Winter but tends to get a bit oily in the Summer so I like a light wearing moisturizer preferably one that has a decent SPF if possible.
If you shop the Asian beauty world you’ll come across quite a good deal of “play” creams that offer lighter moisturizing effects, plus SPF, and act as a base for your makeup.
Recently, a reader e-mailed me and asked had I tried the Tony Moly “ice cream” range and I had to sit and scratch my head for a second….what she actually meant was the Ice Queen Collection. Easy mistake considering the products are all packaged up like a scoop of your favorite ice cream and topping!
And yes, I have. I got these when I first saw them pop up on Sasa a while back ago, believe it was before the Holidays. Sasa still has them in stock by the way and close to retail price too!
As per her request I’ll be reviewing these for you and starting off today with the Tony Moly Ice Queen Multi Play Cream SPF 30, one of the nicer play creams I’ve tried from Korea by the way and not only for the cute packaging either!
I’ve had Etude House Cleansing Dream Cleansing Foam hanging out in my stash for a while. I purchased and reviewed the Etude House Cleansing Dream Cleansing Oil a while back ago as well.
Let’s take a look at the cleaning foam today!
I have a thing for cute beauty products, obviously right? Etude House introduced a range of hand creams and lip balms several months ago in a baby animal theme which instantly had me at that “awww OMG so cute!” stage.
I’m such a wimp for kawaii makeup.
There are four animals featured on the packaging in the form of a baby penguin, seal, panda, and dolphin. After hauling all four of them I went through the secondary stage, this is the stage after the “awww OMG so cute!” stage as reality sinks in and I sit and wonder why I need four tins of lip balm….and I remember oh yeah, because there cute.
It’s a sickness people.
In the end I ended up keeping two and gifting the others away! See? Sometimes I’m smart.
Here’s my thoughts!
I don’t get blackheads anywhere on my face but the tip and sides of my nose are their playground. Nose strips help but I have two pesky ones that make a permanent home on the tip of my nose. Those suckers are so deeply embedded I need a pick and a shovel to dig ‘em out!
Dude, I have tried any and all products in the Asian market to remove them. I’ve come to the conclusion that Asia is more obsessed with nose blackheads than we are because they have all sorts of crazy ass stuff to remove ‘em! My favorite? The Black Head Off Stick which is shaped like a chapstick and you literally sit and rub it on your nose like a balm, yeah, I totally tried that shiz and it convinced myself it worked (CLICK!).
Holika Holika Blackhead Sponge Magic Patch is a complete gimmick so I decided, “hey, a new blackhead gimmick, let me try it!”
Does it work?
Etude House Miss Tangerine Brightening Cotton Primer is an exciting release for me. It was one of the first things that popped up from this collection that got my attention and intrigued me. The idea of a primer housed in a cotton pad, well, it sounded kinda different and exciting.
Let’s check it out and see if it REALLY brightens!
