Majolica Majorca introduced it’s Trick On Palettes in Spring 2008. They have since extended the line to include two new colors for the Fall 2008.
The two newest shades are Gr750 and BR751. Both are general catalog and not limited edition as far as I know. The Trick On Palettes are quite nice and I gave them a good review when they first appeared on the scene in the Spring however I’m not feeling the color variations for the Fall in all honesty.
GR750 and BR751
It’s simply the same old stuff released again and again and again! if I put together all my Majolook Line Impact palettes, last season’s Trick On palettes, plus my Majolook Illuminator palettes I could probably easily make up all four shades in the newest color selections.
I collect all the Majolook palettes released which accounts for me purchasing GR750 and BR751 but in my humblest opinion you just don’t need either unless you’re a serious collector and like having each release from Majolica Majorca.
GR750 and BR751
Neither palette contains pop of any kind so this isn’t a sizzling eye look you’ll be creating. Each palette consists of two shadow colors, one liner shade, and a “Trick On” shimmering powder. Although the shades are very Fall-like in color I just felt like they were a bit boring and as I mentioned very easy to dupe from past palettes. For instance GR750 contains shades very similiar to BR762 from the Majolook Illuminator Palette.
GR750 contains a highlighting shade in a light beige brown shade combined with a khaki green for your lid. The liner shade is a deep dark teal green and the “trick on” powder is a shimmering gold.
Although the beige brown contrasts nicely with the khaki green I felt like the teal liner created an unusual look to my eyes and layering the “trick on” shimmering powder on top of the khaki green really made a mess considering it was a lighter gold shade.
It is note worthy to mention that the all the shades are nicely pigmented in particular the khaki green and each sports that unusual creamy powder formula that most Japanese eye shadows are known for.
BR751 contains a highlighting shade in gold and a taupe color for the lid which is followed by a chocolate brown liner shade and finally a pale pink shimmer makes up the “trick on” powder. Again, a rather boring array of colors sadly. This time I felt like the taupe and gold were completely mismatched as well and in particular the liner shade just doesn’t go with the base lid color. This seems to be such an unusual and weird cocktail of colors.
I do have one major rave for each palette and that would be pigmentation and ease of blending. The formula on the Trick On palettes seems very different compared to previous variations of the Majolook palettes and I find they are quite nicely pigmented and they blend very well! Yes, you do have to layer quite a bit to get good color payoff with other Majolook palettes but I felt like two strokes of color or even one with the Trick On palettes was all you needed to create a nice deep color on the lid.
All in all I was pretty disappointed with these. If you’re a big collector of MJ palettes you’ll want to add them to your collection but if you’re purchasing them simply for color selection alone it’s safe to skip both palettes in my humblest opinion. I felt like both selections made my eyes look tired, boring, and blah.
Have you tried Majolica Majorca Trick On Palettes?
Are you stashing or trashing the two new color selections?
You guys have been awful quiet lately

Majolica Majorca Fall Collection: A Girl with Wings
Majolica Majorca Spring Collection 2008 Reviewed: Featuring The First Four Trick On Palettes
As part of it’s Fall Collection Majolica Majorca released a new mascara entitled Lash Gorgeous Wing Mascara.
The Muse is not impressed.
I’m normally not one for fiber mascaras but I couldn’t resist purchasing one of these since I’m a big lover of Majolica Majorca mascara however this is a big disappointment for me and of course the main reason is the fact it’s a fiber mascara.
Although to look at it you’d never know it was fiber based as the wand doesn’t have a ton of fibers sticking from it once it’s removed from the tube however once applied I instantly get that lash in the eye feeling that’s both irritating physically and emotionally. Damn right I said emotionally! I got emotional when I have to go through a work day feeling like I have lashes stuck in my eye and unable to do a damn thing about it! Ahhhhhh! The irritation is too much to take!
Lash Gorgeous Wing is not the first fiber mascara released from Majorca Majolica but it is the first mascara that has a brush applicator as all previous versions sport the Muse beloved comb applicator which take lashes to crazy long lengths!
The mascara does exactly what it promises in providing you with feathery light lashes that keep the curl all day long however if you’re not a big lover of fibers you might want to avoid this. I, for one, picture this making a guest starring appearance in the bottom of the makeup draw graveyard.
I like my lashes to look fat and long. Although Lash Gorgeous Wing did give me ok lenght I wasn’t loving the fact that it separated my lashes and made them look alot less full and more natural. The Muse does not like the natural look. I also felt like the mascara didn’t have the exact same inky black formula Majolica Majorca mascara is known for, it seemed much lighter.
The brush wasn’t exactly working to my satisfaction either since it didn’t give me the volume I’ve come to expect from Majorca Majolica due to the awesome comb applicator previous versions had. I’ve always loved how fat and full the regular version of Majolica Majorca made my lashes this however fails on that account terribly.
I’m glad I paid retail at 1,290 yen because I’d seriously be upset if I had paid more. This, I sadly have to say, isn’t exactly what I wanted from Majolica Majorca. I’ve come to expect better from there mascara and this is definately no where near the best.
The Muse gives it a thumb down! Definitely not loving it! Perhaps I’ll have better luck with the new palettes! Stay tuned for my review!

Majorca Majolica Holiday Collection Review
Majolica Majorca has updated it’s website with the newest Fall Collection entitled A Girl With Wings. Although the site is in Japanese it’s always nice to click around it and enjoy the interactivity on the site plus look at the pretty pictures of the new collection.
I admit that I’m not too thrilled with the collection but I will be indulging in all the items released. It’s not a huge release but most Fall Collections in Japan aren’t. Spring Collections are normally the season that Japanese cosmetic companies release bigger collections so we have to wait a bit before we see bigger and better things from Majolica Majorca and of course we have the special Holiday releases to look forward to!
The items released with A Girl with Wings are a new fiber mascara which is a first for Majolica Majorca and two new Trick On Eye Palettes. I’ll be getting all three items and reviewing them for you shortly. I think you can safely skip everything but I do recommend picking up the mascara. MJ Mascara is always on my hit list and I try each new version released. I’m paying retail for the items which is 1,500 yen per a palette and 1,200 yen for the mascara but expect to pay up to $6-8 more per palette and I’d say at least $8 for the mascara at online shops.

The Muse’s Madness for Majolica Majorca
Majolica Majorca Miss Treasure Hunter Collection Reviewed
Majorca Majolica’s early Summer Collection is a small release of some very nice products. This release brings a new mascara entitled Lash Heat Metallic which is a burnt orange color, a shimmering metallic powder in gold, and some nail polishes. I purchased the powder and the mascara and left the nail polishes.
The powder is a similar affair to the Holiday release and is entitled Powder Metallic Heat which is fitting as it’s a gold shimmering powder where as the Holiday release was a sparkling white. The packaging is identical to the previous release which is a small container with lid and a powder puff. The color does appear gold but has hints of bronzy orange to it as well. I personally don’t think it’s pigmented enough to use alone but more for use as a highlighter. You can use it for a variety of purposes such as on your eyes, body, or face. It’s very pretty and I’m happy to have it to add to my MJ Collection.
The mascara is a gorgeous shimmering metallic burnt orange with hints of gold sparkle and is entitled Lash Heat Metallic. It’s beautiful on and very flattering with both gold and orange eyeshadows. I decided to pair it up with gold and orange as pictured in the ad for the Summer release.
I used the mascara by itself but I believe it works best when combined with your normal mascara. First apply a coat of black mascara and finish with an overcoat of the Lash Heat Metallic. I find when applying a base it emphasizes the color of the Lash Heat Metallic beautifully and you end up with gorgeous orange/gold shimmering lashes! This is the 2nd release of a colored mascara from Majolica Majorca. Last Summer MJ released a deep true blue mascara overcoat that was deliciously bright and bold!
Both the powder and mascara are beautiful additions to your Summer cosmetic collections and well worth adding to your shopping list! I really love this collection! A palette in golds and oranges would have been brilliant to go along with the powder and mascara.
I paid the original price for the mascara and powder which was 1200 yen and 1400 yen. This is respectively about $12 and $14 USD. I’ve seen the prices range for about $5-6 or more on top of retail on online shops. You can see my Guide to Japanese Shopping for further information about purchasing these products online.
What I Used:

I tried to do a really close up image so you can see the Lash Heat Metallic on!

Majorca Majolica’s website has been updated with the brand new Summer Collection. The theme for the Collection is Miss Treasure Hunter.
You have to use your arrow keys on your keyboard to “walk” through the scenes of the website and find the hidden clues of the Collection!
A-ha I’ve found something! The following look is created using some of the items from the brand new Collection! It’s very Summery with gold and bright orange on the eye area! Take note that the model is also wearing the latest version of Majorca Majolica’s Mascara!
The new mascara is a burnt orange color and appears to go very well with golds! I’m very eager to get my hands on it!
The Collection also includes three new nail varnishes in orange, silver, and blue colors!
And finally a shimmering loose powder in a beautiful burnt orange color that will go perfectly with the new version of the mascara!
Although small the Collection appears to pack a nice punch! I’m looking forward to getting both the mascara and the loose powder!
