Beauty Babblings
Cuppycakes, evil little bastards.
Totally addicted to ‘em!
Donuts? Not as addicted to ‘em as cupcakes. I think I’m burned out with donuts. My father came to America when he was 21 or 22, started his own bakery, married my mum, had kids, and proceeded to ply us with carbs most our life. Thanks dad, heart you man. So perhaps I’m on donut burn out mode since they were a big part of my youth.
I do believe that donuts and cupcakes should be a part of the food group but of course, the Surgeon General would NOT agree that’s why Donut and Cupcake Lipgloss should be essential to your beauty diet, calorie and fat free you see!

A famous Japanese actress made Vitacreme B12 one of the most hyped up skincare products I’ve ever had the pleasure of using. The claims of renewed skin cells, diminishing age lines and existing wrinkles, and just generally making skin look amazing are just a few of the urban legends that surround this moisturizer or at least in my experience they are urban legends.
I’ve been using the cream on and off for a few years and recently had an e-mail from a reader asking me if I had ever tried it.
Damn straight I have and no it doesn’t jump rope and chew gum at the same time.
Here’s the deal according to the Muse!

Ahhh the joys of blush paper. Did I every tell you about my adventure with the Mary Kate and Ashley Blush On the Go Make Up Sheets? You seriously need to read back on that, happy days!
What the hell is a blush paper anyway?
Well, as per the name, it’s exactly that, a blush on paper or in paper format. The blush is on a sheet of thin paper and can be rubbed or blended on to cheeks. Pretty nifty eh? And probably not really the traditional way of applying blush is it?
I’ve tried blush sheets before and contrary to what you might be thinking they are kinda nifty. Flirt makes ‘em too but those I have yet to try…
Anyway!
I came across a super elegant blushing paper that floored me recently.

The new Trish McEvoy The All About The Eyes Collection has me every so slightly puzzled. After a brief trip to my local counter count me even more confused than when I started out.
The new collection features a few new shadows with the promise of sparkle and shimmer but are so very subdued and are even part of the general catalog?
Count me confuddled!

I admit I march to the beat of my own drum when it comes to trends and such but I absolutely loved what I’ve seen from Make Up For Ever this year.
Make Artist Pat McGrath used freshly squeezed shades of neon orange on models at the Prada Spring 2010 Show. Keep your eyes peels as orange eyes and cheeks will pop up at a few other big runway shows this season!

The Muse has been busy stalking CVS lately. Mind you this type of behavior never happened prior to all the delightful releases from L’Oreal, Maybelline, Etc…..obviously, finally, the US market is catching up with the Asian one and we are getting some cool drugstore releases.
So I’m staking out CVS to see when they’ll release the L’Oreal Studio Secrets Professional line.

More news on the Victoria’s Secret cosmetic front with the introduction of two new Beauty Rush items. You know they place those bins of Beauty Rush products at the registers for a reason. They are meant to tempt and tease you into dropping $10 or $15 more bucks when you weren’t planning on it. Two new Victoria’s Secret Beauty items are coming at you in those evil bins and each looks quite interesting to this Muse.
The first is the Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Glossy Shinestick priced at 2 for $12 or 5 for $20 (Mix and Match with other Beauty Rush bits). This little lip treat is available in six shades and promises a glossy pout with a hint of color. Count me curious and wanting to haul, let’s just hope it doesn’t turn out to be glorified chapstick.
Next up is the new Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Double Balmstick also available in six shades for the same price as the Glossy Shinestick. This one is a peppermint balm for lips with a soothing aloe center. This interests me the least as I’d prefer a bit of tint and gloss to my lips and not up for a splurging on a balm.
What’s the good word?
Think you might haul either?
Victoria’s Secret Beauty Rush Cosmetic have been known to be a yay for me so I’m thinking two of those Glossy Shinesticks might end up in my cart.
As you read in my prior post, a new line of cosmetics has been recently released themed around the popular Twilight book and movie series. Might as well milk the cash cow with themed cosmetics. If you make them the fanpires errrr fans will come.
Honestly, I adore the idea of Twilight makeup. Hey, this is part of being a geek that never grew up. The idea of cosmetics themed around a favorite book of mine is always in style. Personally, I’m waiting for the WoW or Doctor Who cosmetic line but I’ll settle for Twilight if I must.
Jump ahead for more of my initial thoughts on Twilight Beauty.
The Muse bets any amount of money that you are wondering if she’ll indulge in some Twilight Beauty. To answer your question quickly without having to torture you too much through the babbling ahead I’ll say yes. If you want to hear me rant to do read ahead, if you’d rather just leave it at yes and wait for my reviews stop reading now.
Ahhh so you’re still here.
Here’s the deal. I’m very grumpy that they launched the site and are taking pre-orders for about 50% of the makeup. I’m an instant gratification kinda girl I am not wanting to wait until October for makeup k? If you don’t have it in stock please don’t proceed to flaunt it at me, make me want it, but tell me I have to wait until the end of October to have. Not cool guys not cool.
That’s my first rant…read more.
Ok, so I’m about to rant a little more here. Brace yourself.
I’m disappointed.
I’m kinda disappointed in most of the line. As I told you in a previous post it’s split into two collections which are Luna and Volturi. Hmmm who loves the Volturi? Anyone a fan? Yea well not loving that idea but ok. I guess the basic concept is lighter vs darker and more goth. However, I don’t see too many differences between the two collections anyway so I do believe they should have just left it at “Twilight Beauty” forget the entire Luna and Volturi concept.
Here’s the low down…it breaks my heart to be so brutally honest….absolutely nothing in the collection is a must have in my humblest opinion. Nothing stands out or shouts at me to buy it. I am a tad disappointed that it wasn’t something that wow’ed me. I honestly do not have a better idea for the collection but I just don’t like it as is either. Aside from the lipstick nothing else really grabs me as a must have and my total cart is made up of four items costing around $83…..The Twilight Beauty Blushing Creme has some of my attention but it honestly looks to sheer in the photos but it’s in my cart as I’m curious. I did see one color of Twilight Beauty Lip Gloss that appeals and one shade of Twilight Beauty Staining Balm. However, I can’t really see anything special or unique about any of the items on offer. I’m particularly disappointed in the packaging which isn’t quite living up to my idea of Twilight, dare I say it looks cheap?
So yes I’m kinda feeling all brokenhearted today….I don’t know what I expected but it wasn’t this. The good news is maybe after I decide on my final order and get the products I’ll be wow’ed by the quality.
What are your thoughts?
Twilight Beauty Yay or Nay?
So far my list consists of the following:
- Twilight Beauty Staining Lip Balm in Rapture (Maybe Blush too)
- Twilight Beauty Blushing Creme in Swoon
- Twilight Beauty Lip Gloss in Butterfly Kisses (Maybe Myth as well)
- Twilight Beauty Gleam Metallic Mascara in Panther
What’s your list looking like?
Indulging?
