Hello from somewhat sunny Bermuda I wanted to take a second and tell you it’s time for the QVC Customer Choice Beauty Awards! The QVC 5th Annual Customer Choice Beauty Awards features over 30 different categories featuring the very best in beauty from mascara, to conditioner, skincare, and more…you name it and the Beauty Awards covers it.
The QVC Customer Choice Beauty Awards gives you, the customer, a chance to vote for their very favorite beauty products and allows you to help vote those products to the top of the list, a position that’s highly sought after by brands who have hopes their product will be nominated as a QVC Customer Choice Beauty Award Winner!
The beauty polls open to the public during Beauty’s Best, a 25-hour event kicking off Friday, August 23 at 11pm ET and continuing all day August 24 but Musings of a Muse readers get early access to the polls! Visit http://qvc.co/EveryVoteCounts to make your selections! Winners will be announced during the 5th Annual QVC Customer Choice Beauty Awards show on October 17th.
I see PLENTY of my own favorites like Fresh Sugar Lip Treatment, Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof SmolderEYES Liners, WEN Conditioner, and of course, no list would be complete WITHOUT my very favorite product of all time, It Cosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Concealer.
The best part about this awards ceremony is the fact that QVC has teamed up with Musings of a Muse to offer three of the products that are participating Customer Choice Beauty Awards as a giveaway package! That giveaway post is scheduled for later today so keep your eyes peeled!
I’d love to hear about your favorite beauty products that you’re voting for so do let me know all about them in the comment field.
The weather is finally starting to warm up around here and my legs are starting to make a reappearance after hibernating for the winter and even the spring. Spring was a bit chilly this year with a good deal of rain so there weren’t many opportunities for dresses, skirts, or shorts. I hope to redeem that now this summer! The Gillette Venus & Olay Razor in the newest Sugarberry scent is just the ticket to getting my legs smooth and perfect for shorts.
Seriously, keeping your legs smooth is a full time job sometimes which is why you need a good razor handy to get a great close shave. The Gillette Venus & Olay Sugarberry Razor contains five blades allowing for a close shave. The soft grip handle allows for comfortable control of the razor as you shave. But the best part of the razor is the fact that you don’t need separate shaving cream to get a smooth shave as the razor has built in Olay Moisture Bars located on either side of the razor which help lock in skin’s moisture for less dryness vs. the Breeze razor over time and take the place of shaving cream. These bars have a sweet scent called Sugarberry! When you’re done just pop the razor into its storage caddy that you can tack onto the tiles in your shower stall.
Having a good razor at home will save you a good deal of money on laser, electrolysis, or waxing treatments and makes hair removal at home easier and more efficient.
Most women prefer a wet shave as it’s easy on our legs plus mess-free as we can do it in the shower.
For a smooth, close shave follow these tips:
- Make sure your razor blade is fresh and is of good quality. The Venus & Olay Razor has five blades which allow for a close, comfortable shave and once your blades go blunt it’s easy enough to purchase refills.
- Take a warm, hot shower to soften hair.
- Some suggest shaving down your legs before shaving upwards as it has longer lasting results. This is actually what I do. I shave down and proceed to shave upwards after so you get a double shave experience that gives you a little longer in between shaving.
Since the Venus & Olay Razor has built in moisture bars you don’t need to go the extra step with shaving cream or soap however, I do suggest following up, after your legs are dry, with a good body cream such as Olay lotion to provide more moisture and smoothness to skin.
Getting smooth, summer legs are made easy with a good razor and a few simple steps!
How do you keep your legs smooth and short worthy for the warm weather?
I apply lipstick in the morning and gloss but I tend to wipe it away as I sip my tea…so perhaps it sticks around on my lips for an hour? Two at the most…!
I’m very lazy touching up, for a beauty junkie you’d think I’d be a little more diligent retouching up my makeup as the day progresses, but I’m not.

A few beauty bytes that caught my eye on the Internet today!

It’s almost the weekend! Yay! I got some great books and I’ll be heading upstate late tomorrow afternoon for some fun in the sun at my Summer home and of course will make it down Sunday to see about spoiling my mum.
What are you up to?
Enjoy the beauty bytes!
Heyz! What’s going today for you guys? This is actually a pre-recorded post as the Muse is out shopping tonight and gathering stuff up for the first of many Christmas parties this year. My day was rather long today but I felt like I got a ton done so that’s great news as far as I’m concerned.
How about you?
I thought I’d do a little link loving of a few beauty bits that caught my interest and just other bits and bobs that had my eye.
Christine has me babbling and drooling myself every time she throws up one of those Scarlet Season posts of hers. I was never one for wearing red but I discovered a few reds that looked fab-o on me and every since I find myself seeking out red more and more. Her bloody Scarlet Season posts really have kill me. I find myself trying to slyly skip over them when I read her blog so my stupid wish list doesn’t get bigger. Stop please NO more red! I cannot afford it all!
Check out Temptalia’s Scarlet Season (Red Lips) Posts and enjoy some incredible festive shades of Holiday awesome.
My lovely friend E has the good word on Yaby Cosmetics and I’m hating all over her for it. I’ve had a Yaby Palette in and out of my freaking cart for months now. She hauled it hard with a great shade selection and I’m so jealous! Check out her swatches and review you’ll loves it, promise.
My lovely, gorgeous, absolutely patient with me friend whom I hardly ever talk to anymore (I love you Iris) has this cool post she did about the Balm being available @ Sasa in Singapore, that’s not the good thing, well it’s good if you’re in ‘pore but who cares if you aren’t right? The GOOD thing is she casually mentions that there was a big display of Shills! WHAT?! Oh my god I swallowed my tongue. Up until now I’ve only ever been privy to Shills within Taiwan but if it’s at Sasa in Singapore damn straight it might make it’s way to Sasa in the US. Dear Baby Jebus can we please has Shills on Sasa? The bad news is I’m betting it’s expensive as hell in ‘pore and the price will carry on to Sasa but still if I can get my hands on a big variety of Shills, I’m on it. Check it out!
Oh the non beauty front….
I follow Sarah Lane on Twitter but I haven’t really been up to date on reading her blog lately. Imagine my surprise when I read about her recent bout of scary with her health. It really saddened and scared me, get well soon Sarah, the Muse hearts you.
Getting my fix of K-D today I was reading about Lee Min-Ho making a few fan meet ups. I swear they so need to send him to the US in a pink leisure suit a la the Etude House commercials. I’d hit it or laugh….depends, the suite cracks me up.
That’s about the extent of my surfing today. I’ve been to busy with anything else to catch up on my Internet reading.
Enjoy the link loving!
Blather in the box if you’re wanting to talk about Lee Min Ho, Yaby, the color red, or what you had for dinner tonight!
I’m all ears.
