When I was 6 or 7 years old I seen Destiny of the Daleks for the first time and I fell in love. Many, many, many years later and many re-watches of the episode, among others reminds me why I’m a proud, card carrying member of the geek club.
As the Holiday approaches my mind isn’t on a big fancy dinner with friends and family, it’s not on presents I hope to receive or presents I’ll be giving out, it’s not on decadent deserts or chocolates, it surely isn’t on lights and holly and decorations, or Santa.
It is however on the most joyous gift of all from our friends across the pond.
It simply wouldn’t be a Happy Christmas without a most beloved Doctor. We’ve been lucky enough to have him for two consecutive years straight without having to wait for a later launch date. It’s so lovely to have close to the same release date as the original air time on BBC One.
Enjoy the sneak peek below and don’t forget to tune in this Christmas at 9PM. Ahh man only 80 minutes? No worries, the good Doctor returns this Spring with new episodes to keep us enthralled.
Getting is always a great part of the Holiday season but giving is even better in my opinion. I absolutely love gifting people in my life with that perfect gift, something that makes them smile, something that comes unexpected, something that they gush over. It’s truly the best gift of all to give a loved one a special present and get a very warm smile or hug in return.
Charity is also a major part of the Holiday Season, although it shouldn’t only be around the Holidays that you are giving to others.

Bidders anywhere in the world are welcome and shipping is free. The amount of your winning bid will go to our charity, Doctors Without Borders.
Payments will be collected through a secure page set up with Doctors Without Borders. They accept credit cards and International auction winners may have to use Paypal.
You can bid on makeup items now until Monday, December 20th.
For my auction I donated a lot of MAC Cosmetics. Bobbi Brown has donated an Eye Couture Set, AfroBella has donated a Benefit Glitz Glam & Gloss Set, and many of your other favorite beauty bloggers such as Karla Sugar, Product Girl, and more have donated various makeup items for the cause.
I hope you’ll consider heading onto the site and bidding on an item or two to show your support for our charity.
Just a public service announcement for the l33t Guild watchers among us, the Fawkes and Codex Highland Poster is available for sale at www.thinkgeek.com
Not quite on sale.
It’s actually backordered! But no worries those damn monkees are working hard to restock shortly.
The poster is $19.99 plus shipping with various coupons hanging around for $5 to $10 off of $30 buck purchases so have a little search around Google to save some cash.
I’m still shaking my head that I paid near $30 for a poster but hey, I NEED this framed, hanging over my gaming box.
It’s a must.
P.S. 100% of the proceeds go to Child’s Play to buy games, books, toys and videos for sick kids in complex pediatric care worldwide. Vork isn’t going to be too happy that the monies aren’t going to a new guild hall….
You’ve probably been experiencing a bit of slowness this week (particularly today) and lag time on Musings or maybe you’re having a problem even getting to the site.
I know I’m having a hard time logging in to post today or even answer comments as I’ve had to reboot my server several times this morning because of a heavy load on it. The past few days has been the worst because I’ve had various forums across the world hotlinking images from my site.
Basically hotlinking is embedding an image that is still served on my server. This means everyone is accessing that image on high traffic forums and causing serious lag time here or even in some cases bringing the entire website down. I’m already using all my system resources and paying quite a good deal of money to do so. At this point it’s either move my entire site to a new server and pay a higher host fee or just hopefully urge others to stop hotlinking.
There aren’t any shortcuts for stopping this sadly without causing havoc to my site and feed.
I’m telling you this in the hopes you might help me out. If you see anyone hotlinking my images please urge them to remove the image and either link to the original post or upload the photo to the site they are on and just source www.musingsofamuse.com.
This morning the problem seems to be originating from QVC forums, MUA, and an International forum however this pretty much happens alot everywhere including blogs that grab my images and hotlink them.
