Off the topic of our general female discussions for a moment…..
Those of you with hubs or boys might wish to direct them to one of Total Beauty’s newest website launches, ModernMan.com even if it’s only because they run ads with that dude from the old spice commercial!
Total Beauty Media and Break Media created Modern Man to appeal to the male demographic. Think of it as Total Beauty’s little brother, with grooming advice, tips, tricks, style tips, and the latest and greatest reviews geared towards men, heck even gadgets, we know how our guy’s love gadgets (Heck I’ll read the gadget section myself!).
So if you have a guy at home that you think is need of some extra help in the man grooming realm or you’re the proud owner of a metrosexual you might wish to direct him over to www.modernman.com.
Who knows, he might learn a thing or two!
Harajuku Lovers gather round.
Soon I’m positive we’ll see some new Harajuku Lovers Fragrances pop up. The originals delighted us with their cute little do’s and snazzy little outfits. The Winter versions made us say “Awwwww…” when we seen them all bundled up for the cold weather! And the Summer versions just had us in fits of excitement as they flashed us their belly buttons and painted tips and toes.
I’m hopeful this Fall, the girl’s will surprise us with some awe aspiring Fall couture!
Until that time you can get your fix by heading to Target and exploring Back to School with the Harajuku Lovers. Yup, that’s right, school and office supplies featuring all five girl’s can be found at your local Target.
Notepads, folders, small dairies, note cubes, and other fun offerings are available at Target with price ranges from $2-$12.99. Seriously, who doesn’t want to head back to school sportin’ a G or Baby binder! Damn shame I’m not still in school because I’d be all about it….
Ok, ok, I admit it, I hauled a note cube for myself. How can I honestly NOT grab at least something?! I wanted some of the folders too but I know my limits, can’t scare away clients while sporting a Harajuku Lovers notebook, it’s simply not considered professional in some circles, damn. I think the note cube set me back $6.99 or $7.99, not bad since it’s huge!
Head to Target now to snatch up some Love, Angel, Music, Baby, and G goodies. Who knows how long they’ll stick around for?
If you’re reading in RSS please visit my blog to view the complete slideshow.
If you’re like me, you’re probably a compulsive blog reader. Like right now I can’t keep my eyes off of blogs that are letting the shiz fly about Mel Gibson, such a train wreck, can’t take my eyes off all the hoopla!
Sometimes you definitely don’t want to miss a trick when it comes to what your favorite beauty blogger is babbling about, I know that’s the case for me.
That’s while it’s a great idea to add your fav blogs to your Google Reader.
I’m always shocked when people say to me, Google Reader? RSS? What the hell are those? Are you speaking American (total Bush-ism there, hope you laughed!).
For those that are a tad on the geeky challenged side here’s some simple instructions for keeping abreast of posts on your fav blogs.
If you already have a Google E-mail account, yay for you, this will work easily.
Head on into your Gmail Account and look towards the top menu bar. You should have something that says Reader. Click it! Here’s where all the action will take place. On the left hand side you’ll see a blank space, this space will list blogs you “subscribe” to. On the right hand side you’ll see a blank space as well, this space will show you posts from each of the blogs you subscribe to. Note: My areas are not blank since I am subscribed to a few blogs as you can see in the photo below!
Head to your favorite blog. Look around the site and see if you notice a Feedburner, Subscribe to my Feed, or RSS icon or button.
Here’s a few examples:
Now click the icon to “subscribe” to the blog.
You’ll be presented with a page asking how you’d like to subscribe. Select Google. Another page will pop up asking where you’d like to add it to, select Google Reader.
Repeat Step 1 and head back into your Google Reader. You’re done! Congrats! You should see a subscription to the blog in your Google Reader. Google Reader will now alert you each time the blogger posts. Simply head into Google Reader in the morning or afternoon and check back to see new posts. Each time a post is posted it will appear in bold under the subscriptions tab (left side). If I there are no new posts, you won’t see the blog listed so you’ll know it hasn’t been updated yet.
Head around the Internet and subscribe to your fav beauty blogs, gossip sites, etc…..most everyone that blogs has a “feed” that you can add to Google Reader.
I hope you’ll make Musings of a Muse one of the first blogs you subscribe to today (that is if you’ve never tried RSS before). Click here to subscribe!
Good Luck and have fun!
Looks like we started our journey over the hump today and the weekend will soon be here. Phew, thank god! I need a little R&R.
After loading up Musings of a Muse in your browser this morning you may have noticed a brand new look. I wanted to go ahead and introduce you to some of the fun new features on Musings in this intro post.
If you look to your left hand side I have some new icon options for you. There are two important icons here which are Daily Dose of Beauty and Submit Your Own Review.
Daily Dose of Beauty is a brand category that won’t appear on the front page but will simply be available if you mosey on over and click the icon. It’ll be updated daily with new products, beauty tidbits, and other fun stuff. If you already subscribe to Musings via RSS, you’ll be alerted automatically of new updates to this part of my blog.
Now here’s the really exciting part! Submit Your Own Review is another new feature here and yes, easy to guess, its all about submitting your own review to Musings. I really love reading all your comments and thoughts on a product but I also wanted to give you a way to express your very own unique, individual review of products you are loving or hating at the moment. Simply click Submit a Review and you’ll be magically whisked away to a form that will allow you to submit your own lovely review. I hope you’ll enjoy this feature. I’ve wanted to have something like this on Musings for a long time and finally I can bring it to you.
Although its not new I wanted to just take a moment to tell you the categories are available on the left hand side of the blog now. I know when I visit blogs I love to have a long list of fun stuff to read through. These categories offer you the option to search through posts by brand, by review type, and many other ways to enjoy reading Musings.
A new widget has been installed on the right hand side of the blog now as well. This is where you can view my most popular posts, recent posts, recently reviewed products, and also recent comments. This is a handy tool for catching up on what’s going on around here.
And finally the right side also features the new As Seen by the Muse category (aka Daily Photo) you can click on this and enjoy a new photo daily. Could be beauty, could be me moblogging something that caught my eye, or something I’m currently obsessing over. You can visit and view the picture and even comment on it if you like.
I also have some other features that will be live shortly which will include a makeup gallery, a possible forum, and a few other bits and bobs.
I sincerely hope you’ll enjoy these new features. I know some of you expressed you aren’t loving the new design but I’m hopeful you’ll give it a chance and grow to love it.
Have fun exploring and by all means let me know what you think!
You may be experiencing a few problems navigating today if you use the previous post button towards the bottom of my blog or the pages button. If you try clicking “page 2, page 3″ or “prior post” and “previous post” you’ll end up with blank results.
The problem will be resolved by tomorrow. While it’s being looked into and fixed you can use the archives menu located on the top of the blog or you can use the search by month option located on the left hand side of the column past recent posts.
Sorry about that and thanks for being patient while it gets fixed up.
