Counting down here…
Two more eppys before the season finale of Who.
What do you think will happen?
And most importantly what did you think of The God Complex?
I loved the homage to The Shining. I’m a huge fan of the novel and the entire creepy Outlook Hotel vibe in The God Complex was wicked.
What did you think was in the Doctor’s room? Personally I could have sworn a cloister bell sounded when he opened the door. I think he was confronted with his deepest fear when he opened the door, himself…!
Anyone catch that he ate an apple in the episode? Maybe I’m reading too much into but since when does he LIKE apples?
The episode is a stand alone but it’s leading into his death so I do think they set up some clues for us along the way.
Anyway…speaking of crazy British happenings Lush has a dry shampoo now. I swear I’ll never understand the idea of a dry shampoo!
Chibi, manga reader’s like myself are probably very familiar with the word.
Chibi is basically a Japanese word meaning “short” or “small child”. The meaning is not meant to be taken literal in a context of say someone being short but more of a “cute” person. Chibi style characters pop all over anime and manga and many commercials in Japan, it’s as cultural as the use of kawaii forms of advertisement.
People tend to enjoy creating fan art that depicts their favorite manga stars in Chibi form like L from Death Note or even famous movie characters like Harry Potter. This in fact is the lead in for my Etsy Discovery.
I recently came across an amazing seller creating Chibi necklace charms of the 10th and the 11th and I immediately had to purchase both for myself (and 10 for a friend).

Heads up Guild fans (off topic blogging moment ahead)…the premiere was yesterday on Xbox Live but it’ll be playing later today on MSN and I’m sure it’ll hit youTube around the same time.
I saw it already and promise I won’t tell you anything about it *zips lips* but it was brilliant!
Non Cosmetic Musings ahead…
I haven’t been keeping up with SJA so hadn’t realized that MS had a cross over on a recent eppy…where the hell was I?
But honestly SJA was a bit too naff for me, heck even my geeky side thought so.
Anyway….in a faithful episode, our 11th decided to throw fandom to the wind and announced he could regenerate 507 times. A single number blew 30 years of myth out of the water. 507? What the bloody hell…507 times?
And in other news the BBC throws Who history and tradition out the window in place of marketing and cashing in on a franchise.
I refuse to believe the Doctor can regenerate 507 times for crumbs sake.
Fact is the Doctor’s running out of regeneration periods although there has been clauses in some cases where he “regenerated”, loosely using the term there, and still managed to stay the same…Time Lord’s can only regenerate 12 times (thirteen incarnations in all) don’t listen to what Moffat tells you.
On that note I’ll spread the cheer that Matt Smith is confirmed to return as the Doctor for 14 more episodes in 2012. Yay!
Will Pond return? That remains to be seen…
Non cosmetic Musings ahead….
I’m not entirely sure how old I was when I first seen The Time Warrior. It came out around ’73 and I wasn’t born as of yet. I was probably ten or so when I actually saw it and I can probably, at this point in my geeky existence, recite alot of the parts for you by memory alone.
Actually The Time Warrior isn’t a favorite episode of mine but it was my introduction to Sarah Jane Smith, one of the Doctor’s longest standing companions. It was also to my great joy a Sontaran episode that Sarah Jane became embroiled in because hey, in my youth, alien’s that looked like they had baked potatoes for heads was all kinds of wicked cool.
Sarah Jane was cheeky as hell in some cases but was also very much a boring companion at times, mind you not because of the way Elisabeth played her but because of the way she was written for 1970′s TV.
But I think many people have come to terms with the fact they they were favoring her simply because she accompanied a most beloved and favorite Doctor, the Fourth. It was kinda default that you loved Sarah Jane simply because she was there when the 3rd regenerated and was there again for part of the adventures of the 4th.
Much to delight of fans Sarah Jane returned in 2006 to accompany another most beloved Doctor, Ten. Sarah Jane underwent a bit of a transformation in her old age and she was quite spunky, smart, and well written not that she wasn’t before but she got upgraded so to speak.
Above all else she was played with greatness thanks to Elisabeth Sladen. Her bright smile and her sweet voice made her a joy to watch plus she got to work with the 4th, my absolute hero.
When I was little girl I wanted to be Sarah Jane, all great companion to the 4th thanks to how gorgeous Elisabeth Sladen was.
With great sadness I wish her a fond goodbye as Elisabeth passed away today, at 63, to cancer.
For fans of Who, I console your geeky heartbreak with some of my own sadness.
A sad day indeed but she lives on in time and space.
