I thought it was funny and a bit too grown up for little girl’s when one of Matte’s Monster High Dolls literally waxed poetry about her hairiness and how she had to tame it with a razor (CLICK!).
But I’m always up for something equally fabulous which is what led to my recent discovery of a 1970 Barbie Doll, who…has something very interesting to show you.
Have you met Queenie? That’s her behind the yellow mask there. She’s one of those inspirational people that makes you remember why you love life so much.
What’s the mask for?
Well, she’s having a skin whitening injection which is a popular since early 2010 in Taiwan and Hong Kong. It similar to a Botox injection in someways but rather than lifting skin it offers a way to whiten it temporarily.
Honestly, at prices that go from $900-$1500 I wouldn’t be so inclined to do it for mere temporary results.
Chances are you won’t see whitening injections in the US anytime since the craze for whiter skin isn’t one we embrace in the Western market plus since the local Asian governments don’t actually place restrictions on the treatments and they are done in easy to access place such as a beauty salon, well, I doubt that would go over big here but…
