Beauty Bits & Bobs
I was just looking at the new Temptu AIRbrush Makeup System on Sephora and hoping I’d win the lotto so I can make extremely over indulgent airbrush gadgetry purchases.
I’ve never been airbrushed before but when I’m rich and famous I plan to airbrush every part of my face and body thanks so much.
Which brings me to my Musings for today! Would you use an in home airbrush system to get yourself picture perfect? Have you used one before? What did you think?
Tell the Muse and click below to hear my tale!
As luxurious and incredible as an airbrush of my very own sounds I so know I’d make an utter mess of application. I’d probably end up foundationing my bathroom walls instead of my face knowing how goofy I am. I can’t recall the system but I remember seeing an infomercial a few years ago with an in home airbrush system and totally being sold on it and almost buying the bloody thing!
I’ve never had the airbrush experience but I’d totally be up for trying it out. Sephora should offer to test this out, I’d be first in line!
What do you think?
Loves the thought of an at home airbrush system?

The Muse was happily playing around with the new Smashbox Reign Collection this morning and was quite delighted with the results. I’ll be bringing you the review later this week but for now here’s a quick sneak peek of a look I created and snapped with my camera phone this morning.
Smashbox Reign is now available at www.smashbox.com
Anyone haulin’ from this collection?

Poked yourself in the eye with your eyeliner? Squeezed your lash curler a little too hard and caught part of your lid while doing so (Ouch!)? Got shampoo in your eye? We all have them. Those little beauty nightmares that either make us laugh out loud at what a klutz we are or scare us silly!
Jump ahead to hear one of my beauty nightmares and feel free to share your own!
Believe me I’m entirely too lethal when it comes to cosmetics. Poke myself in the eye? Check! Caught my lid with my lash curler? Double check! Got shampoo in my eye? Oh yes, Check! I can name any number of ways my life has been threatened by everyday cosmetics, skin care, and hair care!
One of my most recent nightmares comes to mind for this post, read ahead.
It started like any other night……I had gotten home and was in the process of my makeup removal regime. I began by removing my eye makeup and following up with my normal cleanser. Afterward I proceeded to mist with my favorite toner. Normally I’d wait until my face was dry and follow up with night cream and eye cream however something weird happened!
I couldn’t tell you what it was but something upset my vision terribly. I know it wasn’t my cleanser as I hadn’t used an oil to remove my makeup and I don’t think it was my eye makeup remover either which only left my toner. After misting I noticed that I had a case of scary foggy/cloudy eye vision. I swear I totally freak after using an oil to remove my makeup when this happens but luckily it goes away quickly. This time around it was sticking around and seemed to be getting worst ever second! Can you say freak out?
I got so scared I called up the company that made the toner and got v-mail! Great! I proceeded to google, half blinded, about the results of the product (this had NEVER happened in all my time using it) and got nothing back. I dunno if I didn’t get results because I was temporarily blinded or because my keyword skillz weren’t up to par with my vision gone wonky.
Obviously the best thing to do is rinse with cool water but hells that didn’t work. So I jump in a cold shower for 15 minutes splashing all kinds of frigid water on my face. Aside from developing a bad case of frost bite the cloudy vision was still there.
At this point I dunno if my imagination was running around buck wild or my vision truly was becoming worst. I’m serious this was a total freak out moment for me.
I decided my best course of action was to remain calm even though I was this close to just driving to the emergency room. After about two hours of flushing with cool water and laying in bed calmly aka freaking out my vision started returning to normal.
As funny as it sounds now I was totally scared for a sec there. Needless to say the toner was emptied down the drain and never purchased again.
How about you?
Any awesome beauty nightmares?
Whether you love her or you hate her it’s unquestionable that Madonna is a style icon. From her flair for fashion, her eye for accessories, and of course, most important for the Muse, her minimal yet dramatic makeup she reigns in the realm of chic and classy.
Artistic Director Gina Brooke created Madonna’s most recent look for her Sticky & Sweet 2009 Summer Tour and you’ll be quite delighted to know how easy it is to do for yourself!
Click it for the details!
Madonna’s look was inspired by her hit song “Ray of Light”, Brooke, who has been working with Madonna since 2002, transforms Madonna’s eyes by applying a mix of crushed, small flawless diamonds and white eye shadow to her lids. The results is a bright and sparkling glow!
Brooke uses Shu Uemura Press Eye Shadow in ME White 905 to provide a soft, light reflecting, diamond-like effect. Brooke uses actual diamonds to surround Madonna’s eyes of course we can’t all afford to snag ourselves some diamonds. To duplicate the effect try using bindis which you can find in any number of small Indian bridal shops or online at www.bindishop.com
Brooke feels that any woman of any age can wear a shimmery, ethereal shade like ME White 906 from Shu. “A little sheen helps enhance the eyes and instantly gives a younger appearance. Modonna is always up for trying new things and I think all women should feel comfortable experimenting and enhancing their beauty….” states Brooke.
In 2004, Brooke collaborated with Shu Uemura to create a pair of custom made mink lashes for Madonna. In 2006, she took the idea to a revolutionary level by creating a pair of diamond and minkencrusted lashes for Madonna. After overwhelming interest from consumers, the Shu Uemura lashes were created and sold exclusively at Neiman Marcus for $10,000 a pair.
Sparkling white shadow and diamonds always make me think of the crisp frozen Winter, Ice Queens, and Christmas. I love this look as the weather grows colder but sadly the Muse is fresh out of 10 g’s for the lashes but she doesn’t mind indulging in Shu Uemura ME White 905 and a pack of $1.50 bindi brow stickers to duplicate the look and you can too!
What do you think of Madonna’s sparkling diamond look?
