Fall Favorites: Cheeks, Eyes and Lips Edition

Hey lovies!

Tis time for a new Favorites list for Fall!

Excited (If you’re not just pretend you are!)?

Me too!

Rounding up some favorites for this month wasn’t too hard as so many interesting pieces have fallen into my lap for my very favorite season, Fall. I’ve hot linked any reviews I may have done on these items so do have a click around and maybe you’ll run across a review you might have missed the first time around!

Days of settling for oranges and golds are long gone and this year I embraced my need for nudes, naturals, and browns! Rounding up those colors I also had a fix for purple!

Although I only reviewed some of MAC Cult of the Cherry I admit to indulging in far too much of this vibrant Fall Collection! One item that I’ve reached for on more than one occasion since the weather has gotten cooler, would be the my MAC Quad in Spiced Chocolate! Fiery copper, cranberry, and brown create a favorite Fall eye look for the Muse!

Japanese brand, Gransenbon, never fails to please me with it’s tiny, adorable packaging but what’s inside is the real joy! The Gransenbon Gran de Eyes in 17 has been a favorite of mine for over a year now but I find I like it for creating a quick Fall eye look! Although purple isn’t exactly the first color you think of for Autumn, it reminds this Muse of Halloween and witches! And I do so love Halloween!

I scored almost all of the Napoleon Perdis Eye Patrol Eyeshadows at Sephora’s for 50% off Napoleon Perdis Sale but they have been a favorite far before that! Two shades I’ve reached for daily since Fall hit are Private Boudoir and Private Noir. The shades are ideal for a smoky brown eye while giving me a bit of sparkle, which we all know the Muse is sincerely addicted too!

Ahh Bobbi, Bobbi, Bobbi how you’ve changed the way I view makeup!
Although the Bobbi Brown Shimmering Nudes Palette is most definately not something you’d have seen me toting around in the past, I’ve long since made my peace and embraced my need for nudes! This palette makes nudes more bearable by bringing in beautiful shimmer and sparkle!

Clarins Jazzy Colours Collection became a SUPER fast favorite this season and one item in particular that stunned me happy was the Clarins Colour Quartet for Eyes in So Chic!

Although I adore a warmer shade of blush for Fall, you’ll definately catch me with a bolder shade of pink on occasion as nothing like pink says “baby, it’s cold outside” to the Muse! Some of my favorite blushes for the Fall might surprise and delight you!

Picture+059

I think we established how much I love the multitasking demon that is Sugar Cosmetics Sweet Cheeks Blush in Gingerbread! This dual sided baked blusher doubles up as a highly pigmented eyeshadow! So…you’re double tasking your way to warm eyes and cheeks for the Autumn! Don’t forget all Sugar is 50% Off at Sephora!

Although Victoria Secret meant for it’s Diamond Luster Face Powder to be ideal for a Summer bronze look, the Muse decided she’d embrace it for Fall! A quick swipe across my already blushing cheeks gives me a twinkle and shimmer of beautiful gold, copper, and pink from this gorgeous little palette!

Understanding my deep love and lust for Urban Decay Half Baked Bronzer in Gilded Gold can not be comprehended unless you try it for yourself! It’s been my favorite all through Summer and has run right into Fall as being my top pick for adding a beautiful highlight of gold to my cheeks! Although I’ll tuck it safely away when Winter comes for now it remains on my top list!

Hauling Bobbi Brown Blush in Apricot at my local CCO was possibly one of the best purchases I ever did make! Pink or Peach or both, Apricot really doesn’t know what it wants to be but the Muse doesn’t mind in the least! For her, it creates a beautiful flush of color on the cheeks that can’t be duped by any other blush she has in her collection! A fast favorite that carries it’s way through all seasons!

If it’s cheap you seek for flushed cheeks try out Physicians Formula Multi-Colored Blush in Blushing Berry! For me blushing cheeks are always in Season! I reach for Blushing Berry time and time again for nice pop of natural cool to complete a deeper, bolder Fall eye look!

I had quite a few favorites this Fall in the lip department and I’m finding new ones everyday! Glossy, bolder lips were definately in for me but I also liked a spot of shimmering pink or a quick mirror natural glossy look!

MAC Lipstick in Kiss Manish quickly climbed the ladder to my Fall list when I found out how well it went with my favorite MAC Lipglass of all time, Pink Grapefruit!

For a mirror, glossy finish I absolutely LOVE Too Faced Mirror Mirror Gloss! It’s my ideal gloss for beautiful, full, glossy lips!

Clarins Joli Rouge in 717 Plum left behind moisturizing, pigmented lip color in a bold shade of plummy maroon and has completed many of my Fall looks lately! It’s truly a favorite for both it’s shade and it’s great formula!

The sweet collection that made up Etude House’s Fall Collection included two brand new Plumping Lip Tints one of which turned into a favorite of mine! Etude House Plumping Lip Tint in Pink completes many of my bolder Fall looks and my need for a simple, yet beautiful burst of glossy pink on my lips! Tis love!

Japanese Brand, Kiss, created a beautiful Spring Collection but I’ve noticed I much prefer it for Fall! One item that I reach for daily would be the Kiss Gloss in Melty Chocolate which leaves behind a nice layer of sparkle and the yummie flavor of fresh mocha!

Although almost all the items from the MAC Cult of Cherry were favorites, I must say I do so reach for MAC Lipglass in Jampacked daily! Although it has a certain underlay of purple, the Muse feels like it looks like crushed dark cherries! Fall lip perfection in my humble opinion!

Jill Stuart Gloss is always a favorite for a bit of sparkle and shine and as far as the Muse is concerned all the shades are Fall friendly and Muse Approved for the shimmer gloss addicts!

The Avon Retro Charm Collection is on my favorite list but one item that gets paired up with many of my fall looks would be the gorgeous Avon Lipstick in Charmed Rose! Beautiful peachy perfection!

Etude House 55 Kissful Tint Chou is high on the rungs of favoritism for me! I totally adore how it kisses my lips with just the right bite of color! This one is a favorite for all seasons to come I’m sure!

Well that’s it! My Fall Favorites for Cheeks, Eyes, and Lips! I’m sure next week something else will catch my eye but for the past few weeks these are items I’ve reached for daily!

Now it’s your turn!

What are your Fall Favorites?

What do you use daily or often on your lips?

How about on your cheeks?

Anything that you love for your eyes?

Any of my favorites match up with yours?

The Muse’s Honest Opinion About GMarket

gmarket

I wanted to address G-Market today in a post since I get many, many, many e-mails asking me about it, have I ever used it, what’s it like, how do I use it, etc….

Instead of the hassle of going through 200 or more e-mails on the topic I thought a post would be appropriate in answering the questions I get daily about it.

I’ve been collecting Korean Cosmetics for about a two years, possibly a year and a half, unsure exactly when I started. I get asked daily where I get my Korean makeup and the answer is I have a friend who lives in Seoul (the largest city and capital of South Korean) who ships me over random items that I ask her to purchase for me.

I have not seen anyone else aside from E-bay and Gmarket who sell Korean Cosmetics. I haven’t really seen many stores in Manhattan either that carry Korean makeup but maybe I am looking in the wrong locations. If I do come across a shop that carry the lines they are normally very out of date items.

If you live within a heavily populated Asian community you my be lucky enough to have a few Japanese, Korean, Chinese specialty shops that carry cosmetics from abroad.

If you’re unfamiliar with Gmarket allow me to briefly explain.

Gmarket is much like E-bay however instead of bidding on items you are purchasing them out right for buy it now prices. All items are priced extremely low and as close to retail as anything I’ve seen on the Internet and many popular brands I’ve discussed at Musings such as Etude House, Banila Co, VOV, etc…can be located at retail prices on Gmarket.

Even though Gmarket prices are amazing I have some rants about the service which is why I do not recommend using it unless you have a ton of cash to spare.

I’ve tried Gmarket twice and have noticed a few problems with the service and they are as follows:

Virtually no Customer Service at all.

During my first order I had some confusion of whether the funds I sent over actually went through so I decided to shoot over an inquiry about my order. This was 3 months ago and still they have not replied. Lucky enough the order arrived safely but having my money hang out in limbo while no one replies stinks.

No English speaking reps or members.

I don’t believe anyone that works for Gmarket or anyone who is a registered member that is selling speaks in English. I’ve successfully contacted a seller when asking a question only to receive a reply in Korean. This wasn’t a problem as I had someone translate it for me however if you’re virtually clueless about the Korean language this can be frustrating. This leads me to believe that the reps that work at Gmarket, run Gmarket, Etc…do not speak English either. Although Gmarket has a English sub-site I don’t believe anyone technically speaks English.

Shipping Prices are obscene at first glance!

Now shipping via Gmarket is fairly reasonable however as you add items into your cart from other sellers or even one particular seller the price goes up and up and up and up! This figure is a set estimate and you’ll later receive a credit on the shipping amount however it’s ridiculous having to set out $40, $60, or more dollars when you have 8-10 items in your cart! As mentioned you do get a credit however that credit is not put back into your Paypal account it’s set as G-Cash for spending on Gmarket. If you so choose you can transfer it back to Paypal but it won’t be worth it as they deduct a considerable amount in fees to do this!

Shipping, Paypal, and Other Woes….

Gmarket ships fairly quickly however the interface on Gmarket has a huge learning curve and I don’t think, after using it twice so far for orders, I even understand how it works! Figuring out where my money is, where my order is, when it shipped, how to track it, etc…is like brain surgery! The site isn’t user friendly in my opinion! Now when paying via Paypal can be quite a bit of a nail biting experience as waiting for the funds to go through, etc…makes me slightly nervous as my Paypal sits in limbo for 2-3 days. On top of this waiting for your credit back, for shipping, takes a fair few days. I just get a tad bit nervous when my money is sitting around and not doing anything!

All in all I currently avoid Gmarket like the plague and do all my Korean Cosmetics via CP purchases from my friend. If I can’t get items from her I tend to look around E-bay and see what pops up cheap! I don’t recommend using Gmarket if you get antsy about your money the way I do. I also don’t recommend it because of the silly estimated shipping fee problem!

The Muse suggests asking around MUA or on Asian based Forums for a CP. Be friendly, make a friend, and I’m positive they’ll be happy to help you get what you need from Korea! Don’t forget to offer to return the favor!

Hope this answers all your questions about Gmarket!

If you have further questions, ask away in comment field!
