Pieces of Life
If you’ve been reading my little blog for a while now chances are you realize what a crumb I am with e-mails. It’s gotten considerably worst as my blog has grown up. I apologize in a major way if you’ve written to me and are still awaiting my reply. It’s no excuse but I am rubbish at organizing my inbox and it’s overflowing (literally) with unread e-mails that I seriously need to go through!
Which is why I decided to create a little open mic post! So here it is, my comment box is open and I’m ready for your dying questions. Post ‘em below and I’ll answer them all personally.
Wanna know my favorite color? Favorite concealer? What I think of a certain cosmetic brand? Where I shop? What I had for dinner yesterday? Favorite skincare? How to use some makeup item or another?
Ask away and I’ll answer!
Looking forward to talking to you all soon!
Just a friendly note from your Muse about Asian Spring Collections, currency, and other general babblings about saving your money.
I know quite a few of you have recently e-mailed me about how exciting you’re finding the Lunasol Spring Collection and I totally agree it’s very, very nice. I have my eye on a few items from Lunasol at the moment, Jill Stuart, and a few other high street Japanese brands however I am playing it safe at the moment as the yen is very strong.
At the moment a palette of 5,600 yen will be jacked up at nearly $10 with the current conversion rate. Wince. It’s not only USD that’s feeling the brunt, if you’re converting from Singaporean dollar or sterling at the moment it comes to almost the same amount only off by a mere $1 USD and some change. I do urge you to wait if you’re purchasing items that aren’t LE at the moment as the conversion rate really does drain the pockets.
This is of course in terms of direct purchasing from Japan and not going through a secondary online shopping party. I noticed that palettes are racing up to $75 USD at certain online shops which I really find intense and a tiny bit absurd. The Muse loves herself some makeup but $75 per a palette…that’s a bit much.
Korean Won looks particularly gloomy as well but remains at a 100% return on the US dollar which is perfectly fine in my opinion however I do expect a tiny bit more on my dollar when converting and became a bit spoiled with that aspect but at least I’m not losing money during the conversion which is always a plus.
TWD, SGD, and Sterling are iffy at best. Particularly sterling, as always, converts like rubbish but not too severe.
Well anyway I can go on and on I fear but the moral of the story is at the moment if you’re shopping Spring Collections abroad do take into consideration your current conversion rate, stop, think, and ask yourself if you really need it right now or if it can wait until currency conversions are looking a tiny bit better. If it’s LE I do suggest snapping it up but if it’ll be around you can always wait a bit and get it later on.
Of course, I should take my own advice in this but the Muse is known for wanting instant gratification when it comes to makeup and she fears she’ll give in to her urges prior to thinking about it which will bite into a large chunk of her Spring Collection budget! Yak! Groan!
How’s your currency converting at the moment?
Yay or Nay?
Tell the Muse!
Not that the Muse is a Brad Pitt fan or anything (not since Cool World
anyway…the Muse thinks that was a cinematic masterpiece!) but she did take note a few days ago when her issue of W magazine
popped into her mailbox with a big, giant face shot of Brad’s scary, un-airbrushed mug.
The Muse hasn’t been this upset since she seen Gwen un-airbrushed….
Ok, not that I’m pro-airbrushing but who knew that Brad Pitt was old and stuff? Every time the Muse sees him he’s smooth as a baby’s butt and looking quite like he’s 18 at the most.
Who gave him a ticket to pass go and collect $200 all the while aging himself “gracefully” for the cover of W?
He doesn’t necessarily look terrible or anything but I admit that when I opened my mailbox and seen this staring back at me I was somewhat shocked….can you blame me?
I was thinking about it and this guy
and Brad have alot in common.
Disclaimer: Brad Pitt, Angelina, and the kids were not harmed in the making of this post. This post is solely for the Muse’s entertainment purposes no matter how shallow it is.
How is everyone today? I hope you all had a super fabulous weekend! We deserve it right?
The Muse is quite swamped today and she’s doing her best to get through a slew of comments left over the weekend! I’m really enjoying reading everything you wrote in between getting work done here at my office! It’s one hell of a busy Monday for this Muse!
I have a slew of reviews lined up but I need a few things to be edited and a few pics need to be taken, etc…..so things are moving a tiny bit slow today! Excuse the wait.
I’ve been working on a few new features at Musings which I hope you’re enjoying! If your comments are anything to go by I guess you’re liking the new posts I’ve come up with like Stash Spotlight, Musings of the Day, Etc…..or at least I hope you like them! I’ve also been scheduling posts for the weekends so when I’m not around you all have something to enjoy. Hope you’re loving that too.
Anyway! Back to work with the Muse! Must crack the whip and get my butt in gear to clean up my desk today! Reviews coming your way soon so check back later in the day!
For now tell me about your weekend? How was your BBR hauling?
Tell the Muse!
I only got the chance to watch the first five minutes of Gossip Girl this week since the Muse has been very, very, very, alot busy but did you check out who’s starring as Chuck Bass’s uncle?
Well, hello gorgeous!
Muse, who is this love muffin you speak of?
Tis my future husband Desmond Harrington of course!
Desmond played Joey Quinn in this season of Dexter and did a brilliant job of it might I add. Now the Muse normally doesn’t fall for manly men such as Desmond but she must say that his accent sends shivers down her little spine. Desmond was born in Georgia but grew up in the Bronx and that boy has the accent to prove it. Loves it! I don’t think I’ve seen him in a role where he’s fully dropped his accent so it’s always rather fetching to watch him work. Growing up in New York I have a deal for the accents around these parts…hells you should hear my friend Marc his accent is harder and rougher than Desmond’s!
And hello now he’s playing Chuck’s uncle on Gossip Girl? The Muse is totally thrilled. Holy Hotness Batman! I sure hope that they keep him on Dexter next season as well because although he wasn’t cast in the most brilliant light the Muse just enjoys the extra eye candy on the show! Yums! I think they’ll set him up with Lily on Gossip Girl but from what I have seen…was he flirting with Blair in that first scene? This could get dangerous!
Desmond is Muse Approved by all means possible teehee!
