Hello World!

Miss me much?

I know I missed you!

Obviously a few days away from the beauty blogging world is way too much as I see brand new collections, semi-annual sales, Fall Collections, new MAC color stories (Yes, I did indulge and I know you’re gagging to hear about it! Review to come!) and tons of other great stuff!

My fingers are eager to start typing (and sharing) away about all the items I’ve come across and heard about!

How are you all? It appears you’re all alive and kicking as I have over 80 comments to get through! Thanks for all the well wishes on my trip! Appreciate them greatly! It’s going to take me a little time but I promise to respond to each one individually! I noticed many of you commented on my Dior vs YSL post and I’m eager to dive into that discussion shortly!

I’m great and well rested and relaxed after a wonderful and amazing holiday! Yay! My cruise was absolutely fabulous and I’m thinking that maybe I need an extra month more to get back into the grove of work, life, and everything else but ado reality is knocking on my door and it’s back to real life!

A HUGE hello and thanks to a very special couple of friends the Muse made while on her cruise! I was lucky enough to meet a beautiful couple (who may just be reading this) during my time away so a big thanks to them for making my vacation extra special!

What about everyone else?

What have you been up to?

Any new lemmings?

Any new purchases?

Eager for the Japanese Fall Collections?

Tell the Muse all about it!

Comment box is open and available! It seems like years since I’ve talked to each of you!

Before I leave I’ll give you some details on what to expect in the new few days from your dear, old Muse!

Upcoming:

A review on Philosophy’s newest cleanser….hmmmm exciting eh?
Reviews and FOTD’s from MAC’s hot new color stories including Cool Heat!
News on Korean and Japanese Fall Collections
Reviews on Japanese Summer Collections (Long over do aren’t I?)
and much, much more……….!

Sadly, I didn’t overindulge in duty-free shopping as truly I didn’t find anything that I didn’t already own or could find cheaper here. I can never understand all the hype about duty-free shopping as it’s sincerely not that fantastic!

However, I do have many a fine trick up my sleeve for the week and you won’t be without your daily dose of Musings from this Muse!

The Muse now needs to unpack…..*groan* Wanna help?

The Muse is leaving on a jet plane….well…not a jet plane but a cruise ship! It’s almost the same thing anyway right?

I’ll be away from from June 2nd until June 14th. Umm yea totally screwed up on the dates duh…June 4th to June 14th…ahhhh that’s better!

I’m not bringing any geeky gadgets while I’m away…no cell phone….no powerbook….etc…

Which sadly means no blogging for 12 days! I doubt you’ll miss me as much as I’ll miss you!

While I’m away you can amuse yourself with some of my past posts!

Bon Voyage!

A Game of Tag!

I’ve been tagged by the lovely Toya from The Life of a Ladybug!

Simple rules of the game. Tag 6 more bloggers, leave a comment asking them to participate by reading your blog for the rules, and finally list the players you’ve tagged after your post! Easy!

This is an interesting game of tag as it offers you more of an insight into the Muse’s life!

1) What was I doing 10 year’s ago?

I was attending college and testing out my first year of scary loft life with my best friend at the time. Scary as my mate was a complete disorganized mess and this couldn’t be more of a nightmare for an anally organized person like myself. I was majoring in CE and a little geek to say the least. I also had done an internship around that time with a local campus as a TA for a Pascal course (I kicked it old school with the programming languages back than!). 10 years ago would be just around the time I took my first trip to the Nederlands as well and visited Amsterdam which I completely fell in love with.

2) What are 5 Things on my To-Do List today?

  • Get back on top of my game with my blog posts as I’ve been too busy to concentrate on reviews, posts, etc….
  • Pick up some books I have on order from Barnes and Noble.
  • Meet my friend Jai for a late, long lunch break that I deserve big time.
  • Pick up some items for my garden that I need.
  • Pick up dry cleaning.

3) Snacks I Enjoy:

  • Stacy’s Pita Chips in Garlic and Herb
  • Trader Joe Everything Crackers
  • Whole Foods Organic Hemp Crunch Trail Mix
  • Watermelon
  • Just Tomatoes Organic Just Apples mixed up with Organic Soy Nuts (Oh my god so YUMMY!)

4) Places I’ve Lived:

I’m mostly a New York girl and haven’t lived elsewhere although I have visited many places for long periods of time such as England, Thailand, and Japan so I guess you could consider that as sorta living away for a while as it was months at a time!

5) Things I’d do if I were a billionaire:

Buy world peace. Please.

6) People I want to know more about:

Jonathan Rhys Meyer: If you’re free Jonathan my ear is open! I can sit on your lap while you tell me all about yourself……hehe!

I’m tagging Sarah from The Puff Reports, Gloria from Divashop, Jazmin from Makeup Moxie, Allysia-May from Divalcious Glamazon, The love of my life, Mandy from MandyPandy’s Beauty Blog, and the gorgeous Critty from Pretty by Critty!

Feel free to add pieces of your life!

The Muse is all ears about hearing more about YOU!

"Korean Cosmetics Appear in an American Girl’s Blog"

The Muse has a really deep love for all different kinds of Asian cultures. One culture I have a very special in my heart for is Korea. I’m a big lover of Korean popular culture as you may know from reading my past blogs about K-Dramas, K-Pop, Etc…..

Today a lovely reader, MJ, pointed out that I had made it into an online Korean newspaper (Thanks MJ! Hugs!).

museinkorea

I’m so utterly thrilled that the good word of my little blog has spread so far as a Korean newspaper! How awesome is that?!

Sadly, I can’t read everything that was said but I translated some of it via Babel Fish and it sure sounds like a promising article about my Etude House review!

Yay!

Do have a click over here to view the article for yourself (be sure to have a Korean Lanuage Pack installed if you’re wanting to translate for yourself)!

Thanks again to MJ for pointing this out to me! I had noticed a very large increase of Korean readers lately on my stats and obviously this is the reason why!

A big warm welcome to all my new readers from Korea!

The Muse’s Quirky Nature

Meredith at Daily Dose of Coffee tagged me and since I’m procrastinating like a little demon today at work I decided to post this up a mere few minutes after she tagged me!

Thanks for the tag love!

Here are the rules:

1. Link the person who tagged you.
2. Mention the rules in your blog.
3. Tell about 6 unspectacular quirks of yours.
4. Tag 6 random bloggers by linking them at the end of your post.
5. Leave a comment on each of the tagged blogger’s blogs letting them know they’ve been tagged.
6. Once your post is up, notify the person who tagged you.

This could have the potential to become a bible as I’m a totally quirky person and my quirks know no bounds. Here goes…don’t get scared….

My food needs to be separated. What? What does that mean? It means I can’t have my salad in the same dish as meat, vegetables, etc…..I have to have things separate. My mum is fond of telling me how it all goes down the same way. What the hell ever Mum! I don’t care if it all goes down the same way or not I just want it separate. I don’t like my salad touching my meat and I don’t like my veggies touching my salad or my meat touching my veggies etc…etc….I’m normally the one sitting at the table with about 4 little plates surrounding my one main dinner plate and in the plates are various pieces of my dinner such as my veggies, salad, meat, etc….everything must be separate or I won’t eat it. I don’t want veggie juice on my meat thanks very much!

I’m ambidextrous. I can write with both my left and right hand but I favor certain hands for certain things. Example: I hold my fork or spoon in my left hand. I favor my right hand for writing notes, letters, etc…but I tend to do shorthand with my left hand. I’m also very uncomfortable using a rightie mouse blah! I use a left handed mouse on my Mac which is far more comfortable and I use a right handed mouse on my PC which totally throws me for a loop! I dunno. Total quirk there I guess.

My hair. That’s a quirk. Many people ask about my hair. Yes, I have hair. Amazing right? I have a big quirk with it. I absolutely have to have it shoved into a bun with a hairband holding it back when I am working. It’s absolutely necessary it’s out of my face, eyes and off my shoulders. I hate it flowing all over the place when I’m working! It’s just annoying. It’s very long and very wavy and I like it up and out of my way! My mum is fond of telling me well cut it off if you’re going to put it up all the time. NO! I like it long just not hanging out all over my face, eyes and mouth!

My books, cds, and any other form of hard media must be organized in alphabetical order.

I won’t eat cheese unless it’s melted.

When I’m on holiday, vacation, away, on a business trip, etc…etc…..I have to bring my own towels. All good Hitchhiker’s know that you shouldn’t go anywhere without a towel after all!

How about you?

Any quirks the Muse should know about?

Share ‘em with me!
