I’m not diligent with primer. I know, I know, I should be. For me priming isn’t a necessity in terms of concealing larger pores but more an optional one that helps prep my skin for makeup and hopefully keeps it wearing long and strong and of course, if it’s Summer, I have hopes it’ll keep oily skin from making me look all kinds of greasy!
In almost all cases I prefer a primer that’s hydrating and moisturizing however I do find such a primer does oxidize my base fairly quickly so it isn’t helping to keep my makeup around long, it is however aiding it to disappear quicker. Not cool. I do know for a fact that prepping prior, not just with moisturizer, is essential for me because my skin is drier in the Winter and it doesn’t look too fabulous if I don’t add some sort of primer prior to adding my base product.
So I guess primer does become an essential item in the long run for me….
After hearing about NYX HD Studio Primer, I simply purchased one on a whim because I knew many of you would want to hear about it. I expected very little from it because I assumed it would prove to be 1. filled with silcones (my least favorite formula when it comes to primer and oh so damn itchy) and 2. gimmicky due to the “HD” nature of the product. I’m not a big “HD” makeup fan and find it a little ridiculous however NYX did successfully make me smile and start to believe in the HD idea after reading the boxes on their HD Collection which simply read “…perfect coverage for taking fun pics with pals….” I don’t think any HD line has successfully said it as nicely or as cute. I see HD lines being pimped out on how great you’ll look, how flawless, etc…kinda makes you think you’ll be on TV or in print ads if you use the line…but NYX just puts it out there that you’ll look good in photos that you take with friends….I dunno I find this cute and very down to earth.
You’d like the review eh?
Benefit Coralista is sheer perfection and my favorite boxed blush from the brand without any doubt. I seriously thought they could not improve on an already awesome product or release anything nearly as good. Last year, Sugarbomb released and I knew it would never compete with Coralista for me and I was right, def did not come even close.
Flash forward and Benefit Bella Bamba crosses my path and after a single glance I knew that this might be a worthy contender for Coralista.
Has anyone tried the Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls? I’ve stayed away from them for a while now because I feared they’d apply to frosty. I can’t dig the frost.
Recently, I came across the new Physicians Formula Mineral Glow Pearls Blush and was pretty skeptical since they looked pretty frosty too. The original Glow Pearls were a highlighter type of powder where as this version is a blusher. Looking at them I was absolutely gasping for breath because pretty is an understatement. They are really pretty pieces of makeup that can get a beauty junkies panties in a twist. However, my logical side whispered in my ear about how they would probably apply frosty so I sat at the display for a quarter of an hour debating if I needed them or not. After a few more minutes went by I decided I’d just try one color and after ten more minutes went buy I walked out of the store with both colors they had.
Did I like them?
Did they apply frosty?
I’ll tell you next week!
Ha, only kidding!
Jump ahead to find out!
Dear beauty girls, pretty girls, girly-girls, girls who like sparkle, and all the shower obsessed girls,
It’s that special time of the year again my friends. It’s the once a year release of Lush Snow Fairy! Everyone scream! AHHHH! Ok, don’t scream at your screen, let’s practice some form of maturity.
No seriously, have you tried Lush Snow Fairy?
Once a year, Lush gifts us with Snow Fairy. It’s one of life’s greatest shower joys. Seriously, it’s totally meant for girly girls. It’s sweet, and fruity, and wicked wonderful.
I’ve never run across a shower gel as nice and believe me I’ve been around the shower gel block a time or two.
Sadly, Snow Fairy is only around once a year for the Holidays and one day, after Christmas is over, POOF! It disappears not to be seen again for the whole year. Which is why I buy a few bottles because being without Snow Fairy for an entire year has to be criminal or illegal. There has to be some sort of law….
Lush can’t do that to us!
Seriously, run, don’t walk, don’t muck about, run to Lush and get some. Your holidays will be all the more cheerful for us.
Special note: If you’re more an earthy type of girl or you like things a little deeper Snow Fairy might not be for you. But if you adore super sweet, sparkling good things, Snow Fairy is for you!
Snow Fairy lovers please chat it up with me and tell me why you love Snow Fairy or what do you think Snow Fairy smells like. I always have a hard time describing it!

Disclaimer: Two bottles of Snow Fairy are pictured above however I purchased way more, I’m just unwilling to admit to you how much. Gotta get through the year you see.
I’ve been stalking every drugstore in New York trying to get my hands on two of the Wet n Wild ColorIcon Holiday Palettes I don’t already own. It’s becoming borderline obsessive.
I haven’t been this hyped about makeup since Givenchy released its Diamond Powder!
