I hope you enjoyed the Drugstore Cosmetic Spring 2011 Collection round up today. I had a fun time wandering around and snapping pics even if I did make myself late for a prior appointment, oops!
I’ve reviewed some of these items already and have more reviews upcoming shortly. I imagine most of these releases are meant for Spring 2011 so if you haven’t yet seen them at your local drugstore just have a little patience and I’m sure they’ll arrive soon.
Good Luck and feel free to e-mail me or comment about new collections you’ve spotted! Would love to hear all about it.
Find the complete round up list below!

Here’s the display for the new L’Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara Collection. I’ve reviewed one already if you missed it check it out here.
This isn’t as new as some of the other items I was showing you today but I thought I’d include it in the line up.
Anyone try yet?

Here’s the display for the L’Oreal The One Sweep Eyeshadow. I haven’t had any great success with it since purchasing and reviewing two of them for you a week or two ago but I keep trying with the hopes that it’ll work.
Basically it features three shades of shadow and a huge sponge applicator which you sweep the three shades on with to create a defining, contrasting eye look. What you actually get is a hot mess in my humblest.
Have you tried?

Here’s the L’Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation display. I reviewed it recently for you and by now some of you probably tried it. I didn’t like it all that much sadly. It seemed to have the potential for greatness but something was missing….mmm…
What were your thoughts if you did try it?

They tell me imitation is the highest form of flattery. Perhaps Maybelline Dream Mousse is feeling all kinds of flattered that L’Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation is looking all kinds of similar.
L’Oreal Magic Smooth Souffle Foundation just recently launched and should be at your local drugstores. It’s a whipped souffle-like foundation much like Dream Mousse. Don’t quote me, I’m not an expert, but this is probably only the second whipped foundation within the US market. I can’t honestly think of another available here in the US.
Now I like whipped foundations ALOT particularly Bourjous’ version, damn that stuff is amazing. However, I’ve had my ups and downs with Dream Mousse and normally stick to using it in the Summer when I want lighter coverage.
I was all about trying this new version from L’Oreal and was quite curious how it would stand up against other formulas I’ve tried in the “whipped” realm.
Let’s have a look!

Ah L’Oreal The One Sweep Eye Shadow! L’Oreal’s answer to highlighting, shading, and lining your eyes in one simple to use palette. Imagine that? This is supposed to take all the insanity out of creating that perfect eye look and proceeding to allow you expert application of not only shading your lid but also highlighting your brow bone and lining as well!
Joy!
A contrasting eye shadow look in a simple to use one sweep design.
Does it work?

L’Oreal has a new Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara out. I’m a fan of the original and first Double Extend Mascara they introduced so I thought I’d give their Illuminator version a try out to see what the scoop was. This isn’t new by any means as Covergirl has that Eyebright range as does Almay but it is delivered in a different application method which could appeal to fans of Givenchy Phenomen’Eyes Mascara and Telescopic Explosion Mascara.
Let’s check it out!

I really need to check out L’Oreal Voluminous Million Lashes Mascara.
Supposedly the Millionizer brush has a multitude of bristles to separate lashes for a fanned-out lash effect but let’s not get too ahead ourselves here and get hopeful about stupid long lashes because dude, look at that brush! It’s freaking huge! I don’t have a good track record with brushes like this.
But I’m hopeful, wink, wink!
Let’s see what happens.

So off the topic of makeup but have you tried Wonka Exceptionals Fruit Marvels. OMG Loves! I nicked a tin from my friend’s purse about two weeks ago and I’ve ever after been a Fruit Marvels addict. It’s fruity crack people! First off, seriously, someone should send a memo to Willy Wonka that the website stinks. After inhaling my first tin of these bad boys I proceeded to WANT more and my search around drugstores was uneventful, I came back empty handed, no delicious candy crack to be had. So like a good techy geek I logged on to the Wonka site (www.wonka.com) and they make no mention of these around (granted, I didn’t register but still!? WTH? Where’s the deets on this candy crack!?). They mention the Wonka Exceptionals Chocolates but nada about Fruit Marvels.
Horror.
So far, haven’t had much lucky scoring anymore. Sad, irritated little pout but I hear they might be available in other flavors, that makes me want to put a little extra effort into my search.
Oh sorry you wanted deets what they taste like right? I got the Pomegranate ones and they are basically a hard shelled candy, kinda like a sucker of some sort, that are filled with a jelly, liquid-y center kinda Turkish Delight-like. Turkish Delight is one of my fav sweets of all times, buy me some and I’m yours, so this could be why Fruit Marvels appealed so much to me as they have the same sort of concept going on, sugary coated deliciousness.
Anyway, ’nuff ’bout candy and the likes. Let’s get on with the makeup eh?
L’Oreal has introduced the Stars Never Fail Lipcolour Compact Collection for Fall 2010 which includes personally selected shades from Beyonce, Andie MacDowell, Diane Keaton, Eva Langoria Parker, Kate del Castillo, and Linda Evangelista. L’Oreal wanted to go with a diverse group of women that represented various age groups, styles, and ethnicities. I think it’s safe to say the concept of going with such a wide range of various women is really a great idea considering makeup junkies come in sorts of shapes, sizes, ages, and colors, don’t we?
