I’m pretty much a creature of habit and I never, ever go to bed with makeup on. My evening routine is like a three ring circus for removing my makeup and getting my skin ready for bed. I imagine they could make a reality tv show out of this regime, it’s serious shiz.
Moral of the story is I rarely, like never, go off this routine because I picture hell freezing over, skies falling, and the Red Sea parting if I did go off it.
I do have to brace myself for late nights now though as even though I promised myself I would not get involved with the latest Call of Duty release my good friend Angel who owns a gaming shop in Flushing sent me over a copy yesterday and things went down the hill fast. I could already feel hours of my life being chipped away…Angel should be shot down.
(P.S. Avoid the box edition and get the PS3 or XBOX version, way smoother play)
Last night we played for hours straight with brief Twitter updates and no food, drink, or pee breaks inbetween…by chance, did you hear on the news if the skies fell last night?
Needless to say this amount of gaming means you just wanna fall into bed after it without indulging in your normal makeup removal and nightly skin regime.
Bad, bad, bad…but at least I had a packet of Maybelline Expert Eyes Eye Makeup Remover Towelettes laying around!
I know many of you already tried the new Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm
and didn’t really love ‘em. After a few reader’s mentioned Kissing Coolers in a prior post I did I had to go Google my past makeup life and look for photos of those lip balms.
So bloody 80′s! Do you remember them?
I guess you can say that Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm is one of the cuter, hipper products the brand has released in recent days. Don’t get me wrong they have really succeeded with their Eye Studio Collection but in regards to cute, hipster type of releases they aren’t nearly as inventive as they once were…can we haz petition to re-release Kissing Coolers?
Baby Lips has been making a few waves on the blogsphere as many bloggers got samples of the product during Fashion Week thus unleashing a wave of OMG you must try these moments. But Baby Lips isn’t technically a new product as it was released in certain parts of Europe and Australia early this year (not sure if Asia got these).
Each of these is a mere $2.99 and they promise to be a “clinical strength” lip balm. As far as I am concerned that kinda killed it for me, it’s a too big for your britches kinda moment. Top it off with “better looking lips”, “less dried out ones”, “more supple” ones…and it starts to overkill things…as why is it a mere $2.99 if it does all these AMAZING things?
I had to try for myself and see what the hype was about.
Because taking a really bad cult favorite and revamping it is order…
Maybelline Great Lash Mascara, as far as I am concerned, is way too over hyped and many of you agree….heck, we’ve discussed it to death right?
But maybe Maybelline is taking things into consideration here…maybe their new Great Lash Lots Of Lashes Mascara is going to be our must have drugstore mascara!
The discontinuation of Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer was possibly the stupidest decision the brand ever made.
This was solid gold HG (holy grail) concealer and available at the drugstore of all places. I can’t even begin to rant enough about the fact that Maybelline thought it was a great idea to dice it from their catalog. I just wanna know why?!
Either way I loved it and it’s gone and many of you loved it as well.
Which is why I wanted to let you know I’m noticing a huge flow of Dream Mousse Concealers popping up on Evil-bay the past two weeks. I dunno why, I dunno how but I’m not going to look a gift horse in the month. I’m seeing two pot lots for as little as $8 with Free Shipping, that’s a steal!
Hope this helps some poor soul who’s busy missing this most beloved concealer!
Here are a few quickie photos of the two Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm Displays I came across at my Harmons.
Word on the street is these aren’t so fab…
Maybelline has a new display up featuring some of their new Eye Studio Eye Explosion Quads. The display also features three, limited edition Eye Studio Eyeshadow Duos.
Maybelline Baby Lips Repairing Lip Balm will be launching in October (or could possibly be popping up in your local drugstore already).
These launched in Australia, Europe, and the UK several months ago in four flavors however our own version will be available for a much nicer price tag and several other flavors.
Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion Eye Shadow is testimony to the fact that you can find Japanese style eyeshadow at your drugstore. When Maybelline ventured into their Eye Studio Collection in late 2009 beginning of 2010 it was a step in a new direction for drugstore eyeshadows.
Let’s face it, can you name a ton of eyeshadows that you’d buy at the drugstore that are actually GOOD?
I can’t sadly. Most are chalky and sadly, lacking. However, drugstore makeup is slowly making small steps towards successfully creating wearable makeup but with those steps comes a huge jack up in price too but I don’t mind, I’ll pay more if I’m getting a quality product.
Eye Studio Plush Silk Eyeshadow Quads from Maybelline were a step in the right direction. Some folks hated these, I personally loved them….speaking as a fan of Japanese brands these are some of the closet style of shadow formula you’ll get in North America that mimic the formula and texture of an Asian eyeshadow purchased in an Asian Drugstore abroad…!
The new range of Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion Eye Shadow are pretty much spot on the same concept. These released earlier this year in the UK and they finally popped up on our shores a few short months ago.
Are they any good?
Maybelline recently released their new Color Sensational Pop Sticks to a great big hooray from me. I was so excited when I found a display of these at my local drugstore and to add to the boon of that discovery they were also marked at $4.79 each! Yay budget find!
Visions of a better budget versions of DuWop Iced Teas danced through my head.
Were they any good?
Maybelline Fashion Week Collection for Fall 2011 might be one to check into your next trip the drugstore. This collection includes a range of various LE products but one thing that stood out was the new baked blushes…granted, not that exciting, but…they have a red shade (fuzzy photo sorry, taking pics at the drugstore is incredibly difficult as employees get mighty pissy) that’s VERY much a spot on dupe for the bright red shade of Chanel Jouse Contraste Rouge from the Byzance Collection.
