My inner bartender likes the idea of Milani Lip Mixer! Doesn’t it sound like a fancy drink? I’m positive the next Sex and the City Movie will feature the girls asking for a Milani Lip Mixer and not some boring old Cosmopolitan plus it’s probably heaps cheaper at $5.49 USD…gotta love the Muse for bringing the budget right?
Jump ahead to hear the deets on Milani’s newest gloss available for Spring 2009.
Milani Lip Mixer is a unique 3-in-1 formula that offers high gloss, reflective pearls, and a conditioning color with one swipe of the wand…damn…that’s a whole lot of everything in one little tube.
Now the Muse likes to thin of it as three layers that consist of a creamy color, a glitter top coat, and a glossy base. She thinks her way is easier to remember and keeps the frills to a minimum. Whatever way you dice it you’ll end up with the same awesome gloss that offers a nicely pigmented pout with hints of shimmer and a glossy finish all for a small price tag. Likey! If we’re being honest after around three uses the “mixer” becomes one gloss as everything ends up cocktailing together anyway so you’ll end up with a shimmery gloss and you can forget the rest.
I tried out two of the six new shades available and I must say I did like them especially because of the price. The colors I tried were Lip Mingle and Lip Fuse. Lip Mingle is a toasty brown, bronze shade with a heavy dose of golden shimmer where as Lip Fuze is a true pink shade with a slight lilac base and pink shimmer. Out of the two Lip Mingle was def my favorite as it pairs up incredibly well with a warmer eye look.
The formula feels more like a lip cream rather than a lip gloss but has a nice glossy finish. The conditioning color has quite a good pigmentation so the gloss can be worn alone or on top of your favorite lipstick. The texture isn’t tacky and feels creamy on your lips. The glosses have a slightly fruity grape taste which is quite pleasant, the Muse is a sucker for glosses that are flavored! Each gloss is $5.49 USD and of course can be cheaper depending on sales and such at your local drugstore (especially CVS who has BOGO offers all the time for Milani Cosmetics w00t!).
All in all I think Milani Lip Mixer Lipgloss is well worth checking out as it’s a rather nice little gloss with a sweet price tag! Loves ‘em!

If you’re anything like the Muse you might like a matching pair of this and a matching pair of that. How about a matching lipstick and lip gloss combo housed in a slick little compact with a fold out mirror?
In steps Milani Pretty Pair which features all three for a couture of color!
Select from 8 different shades of perfectly matching lipstick and lip gloss with the new Milani Pretty Pair Lipstick and Lip Gloss Duos out for Spring 2009.
These duos contain one lipstick and one lip gloss for creating a perfectly matching glossy, pigmented pout. Slap them both in a rather cute compact with a flip out mirror and it’s a pretty fine beauty budget find. Mix ‘em up for three different looks that you can achieve by wearing them alone or together.
Milani Pretty Pair Lipstick and Lip Gloss come housed in a stand up gold compact which has a slide out mirror on the back for easy application on the go. Simply twist and pull to release each product! Apply the lipstick first and pair it up with the gloss for added impact of color and shine.
Both products are heavily pigmented and quite a nice buy for the price of $6.99 USD. You’re probably not going to be able to purchase a gloss and a lipstick at $7 bucks so this is a nice little budget option as it gets you both.
Although the products are meant for wearing alone or together, I personally prefer using them together as they work best that way as the lipstick on it’s own is a little bit drying. Paired with the gloss you won’t notice the drying texture of the lipstick so it’s best to wear them together in my humble opinion. The formula is paraben-free as well which is always a plus.
I tried the shades Two Sweet and Two Good to Be True. Two Sweet wasn’t working out too well on me as it’s really a very true red. If you love bold, vibrant red shades you’ll absolutely adore this. On me it looks a tiny bit clown-like. Two Good to Be True is stunning and quite flattering! It’s a mix of beige with gold and silver sparkles that give it a bit of a bronze brown look. This shade was quite lovely for Spring and will work well into Summer.
If you’re looking for a rather cute compact of gloss and lipstick paired together for a low price, Milani Pretty Pair is something you’ll absolutely love. The Muse thinks they are well worth checking out for yourself for that perfect Spring pout!

You know how the Muse is always going on and on about Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lip Gloss? Well, for Spring 2009 we have Milani Buzz Worthy Lip Gloss which is actually an off the hook dupe of Too Faced Mirror Mirror plus it’s a fraction of the cost.
Dude…for serious you need some.
The buzz on Milani Buzz Worthy Lip Gloss is all good. Milani Buzz Worth Lip Gloss is currently available in 9 Shades at a cost of $5.49 USD per a tube (sometimes less if you score it on sale!). Enriched with honey but without the tacky, sticking feel these glosses are absolutely awesome. A mirror like finish and highly glossy lips await you for a nice budget friendly price tag.
I highly recommend snagging some of these and I’m Muse Approving ‘em for purchase as the price is right and the quality is definitely there.
I really loved Too Faced Mirror Mirror Gloss because of it’s incredibly glossy formula so when I tried these out I knew I could offer a wallet friendly option to my readers that wasn’t going to break the bank. The formula offers extraordinary high shine and a mirror-like finish to lips without stickiness or that irritating tacky feeling. It glides on beautifully and has a sheer to medium coverage depending on your color choice. The glosses are quite tasty and sweet plus they smell delicious, that’s always a plus in my book as I prefer a flavored gloss. The formula is paraben-free and contains plenty of good for you ingredients like vitamins A & E.
The applicator took a little getting used to as it’s extra long and distributes a bit too much product but after a bit of practice I was all for it as it works well at getting product onto lips and creating a full lip look with a nice high gloss finish. I tried the shades Bee Rich and Bee Mine both of which had different finishes. Bee Rich had more of a sheer glossy finish even though in the tube it’s a popping red where as Bee Mine had a good amount of pigment to create a nice glossy pink pout.
I seriously can’t rave enough about the quality on these and think they are well worth picking up. Considering that Too Faced Mirror Mirror Gloss is $16 USD plus only has six shades available I’d say that Milani Buzz Worthy Lip Gloss is a fabulous find offering more variety and a smaller price tag! Good stuff! The Muse likey. Alot.

Milani Minerals Mousse Foundation is part of the Milani Spring Collection 2009. Available in six shade this oil-free mineral foundation offers a mousse like texture with a built in primer.
Innovative? Yes. Does it work?
Read ahead to find out!
Milani Minerals Mousse Foundation sounds like thee perfect formula with it’s light-weight mineral base oil-free formula that offers a silicon base which fills pores, evens out skin tone, and diminishes the appearance of fine lines.
This brand new foundation is supposedly suitable for all skin types and provides medium to full coverage with a small amount (a very small amount, take my word for it, small is good…). Enriched with vitamins A&E, parabeen-free, and oil free this foundation sounds like a dream come true. Available in six shade selections Milani Minerals Mousse Foundation is $8.49 USD.
Sadly, the dream ended as soon as I tried it out. I tested it in the shade 304 Classic Beige and it was WAY too dark. It was really a rough shade of beige that applied almost orange on my skin and seriously when I say use a tiny bit please do as the foundation is super max pigmented and a little goes a very long way. The texture is that of cream cheese, very thick with a mousse like consistency. I absolutely hated how it felt on my skin as it has a good base of silicon in it that made me itchy and greasy feeling, this is exactly why I don’t like Smashbox Photofinish. Once it was in place I just felt like I had a second skin on and looked heavily made up which I chalk up as the color being very wrong for my tone. I can’t deny that I was pretty impressed with how pigmented the product was but it’s such a heavy base that I couldn’t really make proper use of it. The foundation also has a strange scent that one could describe as fresh but for me it was a tad bit cheap smelling. It blends quite well but even with proper blending it just sits on top of my skin which in turn makes it feel very strange on my face.
All in all I really can’t say I liked this one but I feel somewhat tempted to re-test using another shade. I recommend it to those who have large pores and like the idea of a foundation with a built in primer. It has plenty of silicon to fill large and small pores, fine lines, and any other skin woes you’re looking to cover.
Who might love it?
- Anyone who wants to fill in large pores
- Anyone who likes the idea of a silicon based foundation that acts as coverage and primer all in one prodct
- Anyone who desires a heavily pigmented foundation
At $8.49 USD I do recommend checking it out for yourself as I have some strange feeling that this might somehow become a cult favorite, sadly, this was a no go for me.
Anyone try it yet?
