Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm SPF 20 Spring 2011

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm SPF 20 Spring 2011 002

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm is a new treatment balm that helps improve lips over time by smoothing them out, plumping them up, and giving them a rosy glow.

Neutrogena Revitalizing Lip Balm SPF 20 Spring 2011 001

Seems balms, glosses, and lipsticks that improve the look of your lips over time will prove the rage in drugstores this year….as for me…I don’t get the point in all honesty.

Whatcha think?

Neutrogena Wave Duo

neutrogena+wave+2
Kinda weird I was discussing the release of a new Clarisonic a few posts back and now Neutrogena Wave Duo pops on the scene.

Neutrogena Wave Duo is the new and improved Wave Cleaner from Neutrogena!

Click it to find out what’s new!

neutrogena+wave
One of the main areas of interest on the new Neutrogena Wave Duo is it now has two speeds. One speed removes dirt, oil, and makeup where as the other speeds things up for a deep pore refining clean.

I was quite delighted with the original Wave when I tested it out several months ago so count me curious what the new version is like.

If you’re looking for a cheaper route and aren’t willing to dish out $200 for a cleaning brush this is something to consider.

You can get $3 off the Wave or $2 off the refill pads by visiting and signing up at the Neutrogena site if you’re interested.

Simples Rules for Sun Protection Brought To You By Neutrogena

spf

I recently fell in love with Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sun Block because of it’s rather nifty little price tag and it’s SPF of 85+! Kaching! Thanks Neutrogena I just saved $30 bucks! I purchased it at CVS for under $10 or so, um hello awesome considering my normal SPF is in the $40-$50 range.

Speaking of sun protection Neutrogena has some simple tips for protecting your skin this Summer (and all times) and an interesting survey about the habits of sun protection in the US.

Click for it.

I found it interesting reading!

Americans are obviously not as responsible as we may believe in protecting themselves against the sun. I knew it, I just knew it! One more reason to move to Asia, Asian chicas take sun protection super serious (as does a Muse). Neutrogena commissioned a survey of over 2000 Americans to learn their sun protections habits and the word is out that 60% rarely or never use sunscreen. Ahh in 20 years they can use their skin as a belt or make a nice leather purse with it!

The survey revealed:

  • 80% of adults agree that sun exposure can be deadly (so why aren’t you using sunscreen people?)
  • 70% reported getting sunburned at least once per a year.
  • 13% apply sunscreen daily (I’m so embarrassed by these numbers!)

Americans obviously are not taking the idea of sun protection as serious as they should. Not only does the sun age skin but skin cancer is a very real disease!

Here’s a few simple rules to follow everyday, every season, whether the sun is out full blown or not.

  • Sunscreens should be applied to dry skin 15 to 30 minutes before going outdoors.
  • The higher the SPF, the better the protection.
  • Sunscreen should be applied liberally and evenly to all uncovered skin.
  • Reapply at least every two hours, or according to the product’s instruction (depending on what you use and if you’re in water you can skip this step)

Sun protection is an important topic all year round. Just because it’s Summer you shouldn’t drop everything and worry about SPF. The fact is you should drop everything and be worried about it 12 months out of the year as it’s an important anti-aging step and also good protection against possible skin cancer disease.

What are you sun protection tips?

What are your fav SPF’s?

I’d love to hear ‘em!

Reader’s Request: Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sun Block SPF 85+ Review

We should all be worried about sun protection as the Summer approaches and the sun becomes stronger. Honestly, you should be worried about it 365 days of the year and obsess over it as much as the Muse does. Not only because you want to keep your skin looking beautiful but also because the harmful rays of the sun has the potential to cause some major havoc.

A kindly reader asked about inexpensive SPF and where she could get something that wouldn’t break her beauty budget bank. If you’re looking for an inexpensive, effective SPF for your face do check out Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sun Block SPF 85+.

Jump it for the review!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sun Block SPF 85+ manages to bundle together everything I want in an SPF into a cheap, inexpensive package. I’m reviewing this SPF as a facial SPF only, I’ll be doing a follow up post on SPF’s I use on my body sometime soon but today I am focusing on my face. My reader did state she was seeking something light with a high SPF for her face and I couldn’t think of a better SPF than this Neutrogena one as I’ve been using it a while now and really like it.

It deserves to be mentioned that I really love Shiseido Ultimate Sun Protection Cream SPF 55 but it’s $34 USD for 2 oz. Since I use SPF so often and I run out fairly quickly I was searching for something that could offer me the benefits of good sun protection with a cheap price check.

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sun Block has a high level of sun protection and offers protection from UVA and UVB rays. The formula is not greasy in the least thus it’s name “dry-touch”. It doesn’t sink in or absorb as quickly as I would like but I can’t deny that the formula is extremely good since it’s not greasy or oily on my skin and feels quite matte and nice. I can forsake a quick absorbing formula if it means the SPF won’t be oily and gross on my face as many SPF’s are. As you know by now my skin is dry but thankfully it doesn’t mind the dry feeling of this lotion. It has a nice floral scent (nothing overwhelming, don’t worry!) which adds to it’s appeal in my opinion.

Considering how widely available Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry-Touch Sun Block SPF 85+ plus it’s inexpensive price tag I think it makes an ideal facial SPF for use everyday. This retails for $9.99 USD or less in drugstores.

If you’re looking for something cheap and effective I highly suggest snagging one! Muse Approval for purchase.
