As we head towards the closing of this month I’m catching up on all my favorites this year. Some are oldies but goodies and some were released in 2009. Whatever the case may be they ended up on my year end review list because they stood out and were a favorite for me throughout the year, an item I reached for daily.
Join me today as I give you the run down of some of very favorite scents this year.
The following contest has been closed and the winner has been alerted via e-mail. Thank you for participating!
On the fourth day of Christmas my true love gave to me four calling birds…OMG, dude what the hell is with the birds already! Enough. No more birds please. We can open a bloody zoo at this point.
To make up for the lack of calling birds we shall have something bigger and better!
When it comes to makeup, fragrances, shoes, bags….ok…let’s leave it at makeup and fragrance for now.  When it comes to these things the Muse tends to come down with a bad case of the pokemon disease. This disease makes her want to collect items…very bad for your health my friends. Now this could be an eyeshadow….she can’t just haul the green shade she really has to haul the green, the blue, the pink, the purple, and the yellow, another words, the entire collection.
If you happen to have this disease the only known cure is hauling all of the items you are currently wanting. Take for example the Harajuku Lovers Fragrances…god those things are so bloody addicting. Seriously, do I have to pick just one? Heck No!  I want them all!
Now you can have them all at a really good price too.
Considering it’s the big Sephora Friends and Family Event you can haul the brand new Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Gift Set for $80 bucks. This knocks down each girl to $16 each. The normal cost for the set is $100 but you can use the FF2009 promo code and snag ‘em for 20% off which breaks them down to $80 for all five scents plus they come in a little hat box. I went ahead and hauled them so I can have the hat box as I already have the fragrances. As for each of the girl’s I’m keeping them to use as host gifts for Christmas parties, or to give to my mail girl, etc….why not break them down and give them as gifts right? Only problem is I’ll be passing on the dreaded pokemon disease to the person I give the one fragrance too….I imagine they’ll soon want to haul all of ‘em like me.
Oh well, it’s the though that counts, I can’t account for the sickness that comes with it.
Lord knows I for one can’t resist the evil temptation of the original Harajuku Lovers Fragrance but now we have the limited edition Harajuku Lovers Snow Bunnies Fragrances to contend with.
Everyone’s favorite Harajuku girls are back in brand new outfits fit for the cold weather.
When we last left our girls they were sporting the funky, fun fashions that grace the streets of Harajuku Japan. They are back and bundled up for the cold, snowy winter ahead. Same great fragrances just new clothes for the Holiday season ahead.
By now you probably tried out the Harajuku Lovers Fragrance Collection by either spritzing down in store, getting a sample or two somewhere, or purchasing some for your very self!
Today’s Yay or Nay is all about Harajuku Lovers Fragrance! Did you love ‘em? Are Harajuku Lovers Fragrance a yay or a nay for you?
Share it with me and click below for my reply!
The Muse was pretty in love with the entire line up of Harajuku Lovers Fragrance so it’s a solid yay for me. I read a few lame-o reviews and was feeling kinda shocked since I really enjoyed the scents, packaging, and general feel of the product. I thought all the blends were really unique and fun plus the packaging was too cutes! So def a yay for me! I loved Harajuku Lovers Fragrance!
Tis the Harajuku Lovers Thanksgiving Day Float that will be making a special appearance at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade! The Muse is quite excited about this! She can’t help herself she loves the idea of a Harajuku Lovers Float…
Sadly, I’ll won’t be in the city for Thanksgiving Day this year so the Muse will miss the awesome float but no worries I’ll be glued to the tube watching the parade with my family and friends on the big day!
If you’re in New York or will be visiting New York for the parade you can head over to Columbus Circle (west side of the street; Broadway between 38th and 58th Street and 34th Street, the south side of the street b ween Broadway and 7th Avenue) to catch your glimpse of the Harajuku Lovers Thanksgiving Day Float! This will be between 9am and 12pm on Thanksgiving Day!
The float is inspired by the downtown Harajuku area in Tokyo and will feature multi-levels with glass platforms that show the lights of Tokyo in full effect! On board will be the balloonhead alter agos of Love, Lil Angel, Music, Baby, and G and also taking the trip through Manhattan will be the real Love, Angel, Music and Baby!
In addition to seeing the float, there will also be team members handing out samples of the fragrances and cards for a special gift with purchase! If you’re going to be there you better take pictures for the Muse! She wants to see it up close and personal!
Check out more images of the float by checking out the official Harajuku Lovers Flickr feed! For further info about the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade you can click here!

To wrap up the week today I’ll be reviewing the Harajuku Lovers Fragrance G which is my very favorite scent from the collection!
Never one to get lost in the crowd, G leads her crew in a white, corseted top and a blue miniskirt á la Alice in Wonderland. Quirky, unique, and undeniably cool, G is the leader of the pack. Her scent is an oriental, fruity, gourmand fragrance with notes of fresh coconut, jasmine, and cotton woods.
Although G has some sincerely amazing notes like Mandarin, Jasmine Sambac, Sandalwood and Coconut. Personally the Muse gets toasty coconut as the most dominant note so toasty in fact that she wants to roll around in it! The scent is quite tropical and gorgeous! It’s a creamy coconut blend with hints of jasmine and floral. Although the coconut is the most dominant note you can get certain whiffs of unique, exotic secondary notes like the jasmine and sandalwood. It’s really a rather warm fragrance that makes me think of the warm, humid Summer! G is on top of my favorite list so I love anything that has tropical aspects to it. I recommend G if you like your blends warm and fun.
I’m kinda sad to end these posts as I was having so much fun reviewing them! I hope that Gwen will introduce us to a brand new lot of fragrances really soon as I totally adored all of the Harajuku Lovers Fragrances and each girl had something unique and special to offer! All the scents are Muse Approved for purchase! You should def check ‘em out for yourself!
Now Baby is exactly what you’d come to expect from a scent named so. She’s smells exactly like a baby! Soft, powder fresh, and sweet!
One bat of her lashes and Baby has all the boys in the palm of her hand! Pretty in pink, Baby steps out in a short baby doll dress and sweet Mary Janes. Her scent is a powdery floral with notes of white rose, orange flower, and white musk.
Don’t get confused by her notes of white rose, orange flower, and musk because honestly she’s a purely powder scent and holds no notes of floral for me. Although the sound of a powder fresh scent may be slightly off putting for some I think it’s a rather fresh, clean smell that anyone can appreciate. Baby also happens to linger quite strongly for such a soft smell! She sweet and she’s clean and she holds that special flirty fun feel that all the Harajuku Lovers Fragrances have in common!
The Muse liked this one alot! Although Music and G remains her favorite Baby falls closely behind! By the way I actually discovered a “baby” who loves Love! Meet Mylee who’s mum runs Wake Up to Makeup! Mylee obviously thinks Love is super! Who thinks we should just give Mylee the coffret because she’s just so bloody cute!
They say all we need is love! Personally the Muse thinks all we need is more John Lennon but hey who am I to complain?
In the case of Harajuku Lovers Fragrances it’s possible that Love may be all you need! Love like her name is sweet, romantic and sensual.
Sweet, Caring, and Free Spirited, Love is always off in her own little world. Stepping out in a cute, striped mini dress and fashionable red kicks, Love wears her heart on her sleeve, or rather in her hair! Her scent is reminiscent of a floral bouquet, with notes of pink pomelo rose and creamy vanilla orchid.
Love starts out with hints of peach but has a slow build up of peony, rose, and jasmine to create a floral dry down that’s laden with hints of beautiful vanilla. When compared with her sisters, she happens to be on the softer side of the scents and carries a beautiful soft finish!
If you like your blends romantic and sensual with hints of soft florals Love is probably all you need! The Muse thought love was a rather beautiful blend of flowers with a tiny hint of sweet peach and a hard base of vanilla that made the blend beautiful for both day and evening! As with all the Harajuku Girls fragrances, Love does contain a good dose of fun!

To celebrate the Muse’s latest contest to win a Harajuku Girls Solid Perfume Coffret she thought she’d do a week in review of each Harajuku Fragrance!
I’ve already reviewed these prior but that was by nose alone considering that I had only tried out ‘Lil Angel and reviewed the other based on scent cards! I’ve since gotten the chance to test this out by spraying, smelling, and testing them out on myself so I can give a better more detail review of each blend! Yay! Each Harajuku Girl fragrance is unique and interesting to say the least! I’m starting my review today with the Harajuku Girls Fragrance Music.
Always looking to make someone laugh, charismatic Music has no qualms telling it like it is! Stylin’ in a smocked sailor outfit and black lace-up boxing boots, Music marches to the beat of her own drum! Her scent is fruity floral with notes of pear, sweet pea, and sleek wood!
Music’s fruity base of pear dominates her fragrance but the combination of sweet pea creates a very special, unique floral blend that’s fun and lively! Although all five scents are something I savored and enjoyed I must say that I lean towards Music as topping my favorite list as she’s definitely different to say the least. Music manages to combine fun and sexy thanks to the slight woodsy vanilla note that comes out after dry down. The scent manages to last all day with 2-3 sprays which is pretty brilliant when taking into consideration these are EDT’s! Music should appeal to those who like a fresh, fruity, flirty blend.
The Muse likes this one because although it has touches of floral yet it still manages to remain sweet and the Muse is all about sweet blends! Music is a favorite for this Muse and says to give it a shot for yourself! It’s Muse Approved for purchase!
