Chanel, Chanel, Chanel….how you break my heart into a million pieces. Dearest, how did you let something like your Quatuor Boutons De Chanel Les Folies release?
Oh dear, dear, dear. It’s terribly bad my darling.
The holidays are approaching faster and faster now. As I run around gathering up gifts for family and friends I can’t resist sticking an item or two into my own cart, the cheek right? But who can resist right?
Chanel has some incredible offerings for Holiday 2009 including it’s Bird of Paradise Collection. Along with color cosmetics they have a slew of perfume sets, brush sets, etc…..these are super luxurious items way above what I should be spending on myself.
Jump ahead to see some very special gifts from Chanel and tell me Would You Buy Them?
Mark the date peeps. The Chanel Holiday Collection 2009 releases this November, hells I’d say it’s already up and around at your local counter. This one is inspired by the brilliant plumage of exotic birds, as for this Muse it inspires her to sing some Duran, Duran.
Wow! Moving on the floor now babe you’re a bird of paradise! Cherry ice cream smile I suppose it’s very nice! With a step to your left and a flick to the right you catch that mirror way out west You know you’re something special and you look like you’re the best.
God…I miss the 80′s. Best Brit invasion of all time.
Anyway ya…so was thinking Duran, Duran when I heard the name of the new Chanel Eye Shadow Quad.

I reviewed Chanel Gold Highlighting Powder last week and maybe you were thinking to yourself “but I don’t like loose and shimmery…” That’s completely ok maybe you like pressed and sparkly instead! In that case you might want to check out Chanel Facettes D’or Highlighter Gold Fever which is pretty similar but in a press format!
Chanel Facettes D’or Highlighter Gold Fever is the same texture and format as Chanel’s popular powder blush. The powder has the look and feel of a baked powder with a beautifully silky texture and a nice sparkle of gold. The gold doesn’t have much pigmentation as this is a highlighter not a blush and the results are simply a subtle shimmer to cheeks and face or if you so please, eyes! I noticed that the product applies beautifully on my eyes as a shimmer so you can multitask with this by using it on your face, cheeks, and eyes. For the most part the shimmer is very fine and you aren’t left with sparkle overload all over your face but just a simple sweep of gold across cheek bones. I really love the Chanel Gold Highlighting Powder but I have to say I really like the mess free application of the Chanel Facettes D’or Highlighter and I think it’s rather a nice item to have for more subtle looks considering the loose powder contains more sparkle and shimmer!
The price is $50 USD which is about $8 USD more than the regular blushes in the line up. You’re probably wondering if you need both the loose and the pressed powder and honestly for me it unquestionable about wanting both but you may want to indulge in just one. I guess the best best is ask yourself what type of finish you want, which format you like best (loose or pressed), and what sort of look you’re going for. If you’re a collector of Chanel cosmetics I’m sure you’ve already made the choice to just get both.
All in all I really loved this one and I’m Muse Approving it for purchase as I like having the option of creating a simple look using the press powder or a more bolder shimmery look using my loose powder!
For my look below I used the Chanel Facettes D’or Highlighter powder on top of my blush (cheeks) and on my eye as a shadow.
How about you? Love the pressed powder or more of a loose powder fan?
