I think I might have turned to the dark side….must be because they have cookies over here…nothing could tempt me over to the dark side other than cookies and possibly cuppycakes.
I’m talking about the bronzer dark side of course.
The Muse likes her white pasty skin. This means the sun, tanning, and bronzers are a big NO for her. However, she does so admit to dabbling her tiny toes in the bronzer pond lately.
Shocked was she that the new Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Luminous Liquid Bronzer is actually kinda awesome….
Whoa a momentous day indeed! Should we write the date down? Muse discovers awesome bronzer March 3rd, 2009. K, got it!
I’m thinking you need to try out the Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Luminous Liquid Bronzer for yourself. Head to a counter and have a little swatch and a play. Afterward come back here and tell me whatcha think. Bet you’ll join me on the dark side, don’t expect cookies I don’t bake.
I like this stuff!
Basically the product comes in a glass foundation style bottle which houses a rather dark, scary gold bronze liquid. Looking at it makes me quiver and shake in fear but I promise it’s actually quite an enlightening experience once you tried it out.
I take a few dabs and rub on my cheeks and whatever I have left on my fingers I apply to my chin and forehead. The effect is a soft, peachy glow with hints of golden sparkle. Nothing too dramatic, nothing too crazy. A little goes a long way considering the product is deeply pigmented so best not get too crazy otherwise you’ll be sporting a BAD tan. Just a tiny dab on each cheek, blend, and presto beautiful looking skin.
Well, wow who knew it could be so simple to apply liquid bronzer? I followed up my look by putting a touch of blush on top so it looks more natural. The finished result is a flushed tanned look that makes me look like I stood in the sun for a few hours. Actually the effect is better than a regular boring tan as the color is such a nice peachy glow which is something you can’t get from the sun.
Considering you only need a dab for your face you’ll probably take years to use this all up so I highly suggest adding a little bit to your moisturizer and applying to your legs for a nice tint of color or even arms! Might as well get the most bang for your buck outta of it right?
If you’re wanting to pair it up with some great products the Muse suggests trying it out with a golden eye look! How about the new
Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess Sand & Sea Eyeshadow Palette (review coming soon…)? Gold is always great with a tan so I recommend applying a touch of the bronzer with some
Urban Decay Baked Bronzer on top for a truly sparkling golden tan! Want glowing pink cheeks with your bronzed skin? Trying topping with a touch of
Bobbi Brown Rouge Pot or a
Stila Convertible Color!
The application is simplicity itself which makes it very appealing for a bronzer newbie like me. A simple swipe and blend on my cheeks is all it takes! The shade should be pretty universal and work with lighter, medium, and darker skin types. If you’re lighter you’ll want to just use a tiny dab and if you’re darker a little bit more will give you just the right glow!
No matter how you use it I’m positive you’ll fall in love with it the way I did. I’m quite shocked at how much I liked it and I’m already planning many uses for it this coming Summer!

Light handed application
Loves it and I can’t believe I’m about to say this but I’m Muse Approving it for purchase!
You’ll love this if:
- You want a simple bronzer that applies in a snap and doesn’t make a mess!
- You want something you can use on your face and your legs and arms (why not? who says we can’t improvise!)
- You like a tanned look but don’t want to get it by forsaking your skin to the evil rays of the sun!
Overall, I was delighted with this bronzer and can see myself making great use of it, particularly when the MAC Summer Collection hits!
How about you?
Think this might be something you’d love?

Whether you call it a late Spring Collection or a privy to Summer, the Estee Lauder Orchid Garden Collection is about the pretty!
With a launch date set at March 2nd this brand new collection is filled with plenty of soft, light, friendly pastels for the Spring. Honestly, this collection actually looks even more appealing for the Spring than the release of the Estee Lauder Fuchsia Now Collection.
Featuring a brand new illuminating powder (to add to the Muse’s growing pile of Estee Lauder illuminating powders) with swirls of gold, pink, and creamy white, this powder looks simply stunning to say the least!
Also releasing is the brand new Estee Lauder Orchid Garden Signature Eyeshadow Quad which features soft pastel shades with a soft matte to high pearl finish that brightens and illuminates eyes with the colors of Spring.
The collection looks quite soft and feminine however the pastels are probably not for everyone. The collection is available for a limited time and can be purchased right now at Nordstrom.

The Spring Collection for Estee Lauder entitled Fuchsia Now has the Muse in fits of excitement as it looks quite gorgeous!
Read on after the jump to find out why the Muse is hyper this morning!
Estee Lauder Fuchsia Now takes bolder shades and mixes them with neutrals to create a flirty, feminine, fun look. If you’re a tiny bit scared of bolder shades here’s a great excuse to try some while taking the edge off with safer, natural, neutral shades of color. You know how much your Muse loves bolder shades but she admits to being intrigued to the trend of cocktailing bold colors with neutrals.
Now the excitement….
You obviously know why I’m so hyper at this point don’t you? If you haven’t guessed already I’m quite excited about the release of the limited edition Estee Lauder Fleur de Lys Shimmer Powder. Considering what a great relationship the Muse has with her Estee Lauder Shimmering Jewel Powder from the Holiday Collection she does so believe that she’s sure to love Fleur de Lys Shimmer Powder by default! Fleur de Lys is a silky, shimmering powder with a hint of color to add a fresh glow to cheeks and face. The powder is flattering for all skin tones since it can be used as a highlighter for a glowing finish. The design on the powder is simply stunning! At $32 USD for a generous size compact the Muse is already approving it for purchase as she knows it’ll be gorgeous!

The Muse was feeling like blue was the order of day so she pulled out her Estee Lauder Eyeshadow Duo in Sapphire from the Estee Lauder Vintage Jewels Collection and proceeded to go to work!
Estee Lauder released three “gem” inspired duos with it’s new Holiday Collection and I happen to love every single one of the color combinations. I fear the Pokemon epidemic may hit the Muse soon and she’ll be collecting all three to stash away in her beauty vault for the upcoming Holidays!
The duo I tried out this morning was Sapphire which is made up of a navy blue and a lighter blue based gray. The colors bounce off each other and contrast nicely when applied together. These are actually the shades used in the promo image for Vintage Jewels which is why I got Sapphire as I wanted to dupe the look. To create the look it’s a rather simple matter of applying the grayish blue shade to the entire lid and crease. Finish your look by blending the darker blue into the lid and slightly upwards into the crease. Done! Instant sophisticated smoked out blue look!
Estee Lauder Signature Silky Eyeshadow Duo in Sapphire as seen on the model in the promo image!
This is my first time using these duos and I was pretty satisfied with the silky texture and they blend quite nicely. I’m unsure what I’d called the finish as they do not contain a shimmer but they aren’t quite matte or frosty either. The look I created was quite simple yet had a nice pop of color for a Holiday look. I do think I messed up with the lipstick I used as I think a more flattering shade of maroon would have done nicely but I went with a louder true red.
The duo contains a dual sided applicator which has a sponge tip on one side and a brush on the other so you have pretty much all you need within the compact to create a quick look on the fly. If you’re not willing to wear blue to work and have an evening planned out for after you can slip this easily into your purse to create a really simple look that’s both beautiful and elegant.
For my look I used the following items:
Face
MAC Blush in Pink Swoon
Estee Lauder Shimming Jewel Powder
Lips
MAC Lipstick in Port Red
Too Faced Mirror Mirror Lipgloss
Eyes
Estee Lauder Signature Silky Eyeshadow Duo in Sapphire
Estee Lauder Smoked Eye Eye Pencil in Sapphire
Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara
Overall, I think the entire Estee Lauder Vintage Collection is well worth checking out at your local counter as it has some fine pieces! I’m rather fond of the duo I got and I absolutely love the Shimming Jewel Powder as you probably already known from reading my previous review! Do have a peek at the Estee Lauder website for more details, face charts for application, and information about the entire Vintage Jewel Collection!
