As Illamasqua is known for their bold take on makeup, I expected no less from their fragrance. Honestly, if anything at all, Freak Eau de Parfume sounded positively enchanting and dare I say scary thanks to notes like Frankincense and Myrrh (a little gold and we can relive the birth of Christ).
I expected dark, dank, and overpowering but what I got was a terribly interesting experience to say the least.
Introducing the Illamasqua Human Fundamentalism Collection, where blinding flashes of pigment provide a sharp contrast to neutral tones, creating a saturated palette that catapults your alter ego to new levels of self-expression. Mix contrasting textures to express your true self, spiraling from rich metallic to pale matte shades.
My deepest, darkest fragrance has to be Flowerbomb. That’s about it. I’m a fruity, sweet, candy, foody type of fragrance girl. If it’s sweet, I love it.
I normally avoid fragrances with notes like patchouli, amber, Frankincense, etc..
But I’m a little bit curious about Illamasqua Freak Eau de Parfum.
Freak is a unisex fragrance that promises to be a rich, daringly, provocative new scent to celebrate the night!
Burnt orange bloom as a base is supposedly able to enhance the wearer’s own natural perfume, word.
The notes, ones I’d avoid at all costs typically include Black Davana, Opium Flower, Belladonna, Poison Hemlock, Datura, Queen of the Night blossom, Frankincense, Oud, and Myrrh.
Freak comes bottled up in an art deco inspired bottle, titled to one side in a smoky glass.
Listen, death is nothing to joke about nor is losing someone very special or near to your heart but I admit I did burst out laughing when I saw Illamasqua’s newest collaboration.
