Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick for Body Review and Swatches

Large, giant, super size Bobbi Brown Shimmer Bricks should be illegal. I’ll happily roll around in the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick for Body, so luscious!

Sure it’s a little expensive, try $75 bucks, but this super size Shimmer Brick is about twice the size of Bobbi’s normal facial Shimmer Bricks and incredibly pretty (15g in size versus 10.3g). Loves it!

Created for head-to-toe use, Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick for Body is a silky, lightweight formula made up of three shimmering shades of color to give a touch of a glamorous glow to arms, legs, décolleté, or if you’re being nuts use it on your face or as an eyeshadow, might as well get the buckage worth right?

My sister loves this thing and has tip toed into the Muse’s makeup room on many occasion to swipe it away. Cheeky older sisters that steal my Bobbi Brown makeup are so not cool, off with her head. I ended up letting her keep it and indulging in my own hehe!

The strips of color in this brick are dark bronze, champagne beige, and shimmering pink. The colors together cast a subtle glow of color onto your body. It’s quite an interesting effect as it doesn’t quite perform the way a normal Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick would. It makes arms and legs, especially tanned ones, glow with a pretty bronze sparkly finish.

Bobbi has a body kabuki brush to go along with this but I used my trusted Urban Decay Body Kabuki from last Summer’s Collection for brushing this on. I do suggest getting a good body brush for application as a tiny kabuki or any other facial brush won’t cut it. A larger size body brush sweeps color on evenly and smoothing for a perfect finish.

If you’re a sun goddess and you’re skin is tanned you’ll want to indulge in the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick for Body as I think it compliments tanned skin beautifully, I should know my sister is crispy as burnt toast at the moment and we tested it out on her toasty mocha skin. As for me? I’ve been using it as an eyeshadow palette and casually dusting my décolleté with it when I’m wearing a low cut shirt, that draws attention!

Expensive yes? Beautiful, for sures. A Summer indulgence you may have to lean towards this season (just grab it quick it’s LE!).

Anyone haul it?

Jane Iredale D2O Hydration Spray Review

Jane+Iredale+D2O+Hydration+Spray+001

I’m on this kick lately for moisturizing toner mists. I think it’s the warm weather but I just feel the need to forgo moisturizer in the morning in favor of a mist down with a hydrating toner that acts in the place of my normal lotions and potions. Recently my obssession with misting toners has turned to the likes of Jane Iredale D2O Hydration Spray.

Jump ahead to hear what I think!

Incredible! I love this stuff.

First off the bad news.

It’s 2oz in size and $17.50 ouchie. Wish it was a little bigger for the price but no worries I’ll totally repurchase when I’m done with my 2oz bottle as it’s darn good stuff.

Jane Iredale D20 Hydration Spray contains a blend of chamomile and myrrh to sooth and refresh skin. The mist is scented with Ylang Ylang which gives off a heavy herbal scent, quite pleasant. You can use the mist in any number of ways such as in the place of facial moisturizer, or for setting mineral makeup, to hydrate skin on the fly, or oily skin users can indulge in this as a primary moisturizer thus avoiding richer face creams.

About 2-3 mists is all you need as the sprayer doses face very nicely with product. It has a slightly glycerin-like feel but dries down to a dewy, fresh finish. It’s since taken the place of my normal facial cream for Summer. I doubt I’ll be able to get away with it once Winter sets in but at the moment it’s just perfect for spraying down with for moisturizing and hydrating my skin.

You’ll like this if:

  • Your skin isn’t too dry at the moment and you aren’t in need of a heavy facial moisturizer
  • Your skin is oily and you’d like a tool for hydrating your face without over doing it
  • You want a cooling mist to set mineral or powder foundations.
  • You want to have a toner on hand for hydrating your skin throughout the day without having to redo makeup

Overall, Jane Iredale D20 Hydration Spray is a real winner. I’m loving this for Summer easy, fuss free moisture in the heat.

Total Muse Approval for Purchase!

Beauty News: Lancôme Pout-à-Porter Lipstick Collection is Back

Chris+Benz+Lancome

Lancôme Pout-à-Porter Lipstick Collection is Back! It’s rather thrilling to hear this as I was one of those dopes that missed these shades. The last collection featured collaborations with celebrated designers such as Behnaz Sarafpour, Proenza Schouler, Peter Som and Thakoon.

All four of the lipsticks sold out and Proenza Pink Lipstick even sold on evil bay for $122.50. That was probably the one I was bidding on!
