Oh how I love me some Shu.
Shu Uemura’s ridiculously gorgeous Summer Collection is available now for purchase and I can’t help but drool over all the yummie palettes released! I wants them all!
This collection isn’t actually a Summer Collection but the Birthday Collection. Each year a special Birthday Collection of LE items is released to celebrate the anniversary of Shu Uemura! They went all out with the collection this year and I’m yearning for everything released!
Three palettes were released, two shades of limited edition shimmer eyeliner, and three Eau de Toillete Sprays. It’s quite a luxurious selection of goodies as you might tell from the price tags on both the palettes and the sprays!
Each spray is $85 USD each for 1.7 oz bottle! Ouchie! I haven’t yet smelled these but I have a feeling they are probably worth the hefty price tag! Hey, sometimes you have to pay the big bucks for beauty!
Each palette is $65 USD and contains a serious array of awesome colors. Personally I think the price is justified as the palette contains quite a few shades and you can get plenty of different looks out of each!
As I mentioned each Eau de Toillete is available in three separate scents and is made from natural origin fragrance and pure deep sea water. The fragrance selection is as follows:
Fleur de Rose
Fresh Floral Amber
Fleur de Source
Refreshing Floral with Spicy Notes
Fleur de Terre
Fresh Floral with Woodsy Notes
Each bottle is 1.7oz and $85 USD each and available now at your local Shu counter or Shu Uemura’s website!
As interesting as the Eau de Toillete’s sound the real gems for me are the palettes! They are simply gorgeous and I’m dreaming up different ways to use mine! I only got one so far but I plan on purchasing the other two shortly! Each palette contains seven shades in a slim yet elegant compact.
The palette I’m testing out is the Fleur de Source which contains many a fine blue shade. From left to right the shades included are as follows:
A khaki dark green and oceany teal shade
Cherry brown shade and light lime green
Creamy beige and true aqua blue shade
Grayish sky blue shade
All the shades are paired up aside from the grayish sky blue shade which sits alone. I think it’s safe to say that this shade can be combined with any of the shades as a base or color wash to prep the eye prior to using the other deeper shades. The colors are all very vibrant aside from the one creamy, beige color which is light. The colors have a hint of shimmer and have excellent pigmentation.
The palette contains a dual tipped sponge applicator which I appreciate greatly as I prefer a sponge applicator for packing on such pigmented shades! Some people may be disappointed at the lack of a brush but I’m all for a sponge!
The compact is really small and slim but still manages to sport versatility and plenty of product for creating tons of different looks! Seven shades alone will get you seven separate looks just imagine when you start combing the colors? A slew of looks and one slim palette! Cool!
I haven’t seen the other two palettes in person but I think Fleur de Source contains the most vibrant, bolder shades of the three. You know how I adore bolder shades!
The palettes, as I said earlier, are available in three color shade selections which are identically named as the fragrances. They are as follows:
Fleur de Rose
Contains golds, browns, and more smokey shades
Fleur de Source
Contains blues, greens, and bolder shades
Fleur de Terre
Contains browns, pinks, and golden shades
Each palette is $65 USD and although it seems a high cost it’s actually a pretty good deal considering what good quality the shadows are and the amount of looks you can get from the one palette. Of course my opinion may just be bias as I love me some Shu!
All in all the Birthday Collection is truly smashing! Definitely head on over to your counter for a peek! I’m sure once you see the palettes you’ll want to take at least ONE home!
I did a really simple FOTD using the brightest aqua in the palette and the lime green! Fun right? I’m looking forward to creating other combos with this palette!
The palettes are definately Muse Approved for purchase!

Don’t you love Shu’s Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks? Pigmented, Amazing Formula, and Beautiful Packaging.
I sincerely adore them.
Shu’s taken the original Rouge Unlimited and amped it up a bit for the Spring/Summer. We now have Shu Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine which is simply amazing!
I tested out two of these and I’m dying to get my hands on a few more colors as they are truly great!
It’s like having a lipstick and a gloss all in one stick. This is a glossy, slick, emollient formula that simply glides onto your lips leaving behind beautiful color and shine!
I’m loving the simplicity of a single stick of gloss and lipcolor in one tube. The color is pigmented enough to act as a lipstick while also offering your lips a moisturizing glossy, shimmering effect that’s absolutely stunning.
These are perfect for days you want a natural, glossy feel without feeling heavily made up with lipstick.
WN254S and BG 950S
The two colors I got are BG 950S which is a pretty shimmering beige and the second color was WN 254S which is a shimmering purple wine color but it looks very pink on!
WN 254S
BG 950S
WN 254S
BG 950S (Hey, L@@K I’m wearing Visee’s Aqua Shining Eyes! Pretty Right? Click to read my review on Aqua Shining Eyes!)
The only thing I can rant about is they only come in 17 Shades. We wants more please! And secondly can we please, please, please have names we can remember? B45644578ST is too difficult to remember!
Each Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine is $23 USD and well worth it as the quality is near perfection for me.
I have at least 5 other colors on my wish list at the moment!
Shu Uemura Rouge Unlimited Crystal Shine Collection is available now at Shu Uemura’s website!
These are most definately Muse Approved! I love the texture, the shine, the glossy feel, and the beautiful color and effect of these! They are well worth purchasing at least one (although you’ll want more once you’ve tried ‘em!).
Perfection!

Shu’s released 17 new shades of it’s Rouge Unlimited in a new formula entitled Crystal Shine. I’m dying to get my hands on some of these as they sound absolutely heavenly!
I adore Rouge Unlimited Lipsticks as they are so pigmented and gorgeous and the idea of combining that formula with shimmer and shine sounds amazing!
I wonder if these have a glossy fine finish!
I’m definately picking up a few colors and will review soonish!

Hey guys!
I wanted to share this exciting news with you last week when I originally got it but I was too busy to recreate the look so I didn’t want to post it without my spin on it!
One of the key makeup artists at Shu Uemura, Misumi Kitano, created a gorgeous exclusive face chart for readers of Musings of a Muse using the brand new Rebirth Collection! I was lucky enough to nab some of the Rebirth Collection for myself and it’s delightfully Spring-like!
I didn’t have everything that was used in the face chart so I improvised with some stuff from my own collection!
What was used in the face chart:
Cheeks:
Glow on Harmonious Orange
Lips:
Rouge Unlimited in Dewy Beige
Eyes:
Rocket Eye Pencil Energy Flow
Pristine Green Eyeshadow
Precise Volume Mascara Black
My dup of the face chart:
What I Used:
Cheeks:
Milani Mineral Blush in Mai-Tai
Eye
Shu Uemura Rocket Eye Pencil in Aqua Flow
Shu Uemura Pristine Green Eyeshadow
MAC Pigment in Charteuse
Fairy Drops Mascara
Lips
Smashbox O-Gloss
Urban Decay Lip Envy in Envious
I’m happy to say that I got a chance to sample some of the Rebirth Collection from Shu and it’s quite gorgeous. It’s one of the few Collections that is very light and Spring-like! Many collections this year went for very bold and dramatic colors that didn’t completely suit my taste for Spring but Shu came out with a beautiful range of soft Spring colors such as greens and yellows that are sure to suit the upcoming warmth of Spring! The title of the Collection is quite fitting as each spring their is a Rebirth and regrowth of life around us! Flowers, Trees, Etc…the colors and the name are well suited!
The highlight of the collection for me are the rather awesome stackable tri color pencils. These come in three colors that are stackable to create one easy to carry pencil. These are a very creamy pencil that can be applied as an all over color or an eyeliner! Two color combinations are available which are Energy Flow and Aqua Flow. Both sets include three color selections for $20 USD. These trios are Limited Edition.
Overall, the collection is quite lovely and worth having a look at! The Muse loved recreating the look from the face chart Misumi created for Musings! A big thank you to Misumi for taking time out to design the chart!
Check out Shu’s Rebirth Collection at the Shu Uemura Website.
