Pretty Little Japanese Makeup

There are quite a few pretty little Japanese makeup and beauty bits and bobs launching in Japan this Spring that I can’t wait to get my hands on.

Here are some that are especially gorgeous, take a look!

Makeup Packaging I Love!

Jill Stuart Valentine's Day Collection Heart Gloss Trio 3

I realize I’ve spent a good deal of my makeup life placing a ton of importance on packaging. It’s what makes beauty and makeup so very appealing to me. Don’t get me wrong you can slap a shimmer eyeshadow in a basic black pot and I’d be drawn to it like a magnet! But just the opposite holds true of say a boring matte! Place an uneventful muddy matte shade in gorgeous packaging and I instantly need to have it.

Perhaps I’m a bit of a magpie. Collecting useless makeup just because it has pretty packaging! Of course, that’s not always the case. Sometimes we really get lucky and not only get a lipstick with a gorgeous formula but also one that comes in stunning packaging.

As I grow older I find myself becoming more jaded and I’m not necessarily all “grabby hands” with makeup just because it has beautiful packaging. Let’s face it Milani Cosmetics has some of the worst packaging around but some of the very nicest makeup, hello have you tried their blush? Awful packaging, great formula!

Jill Stuart Summer 2014 Makeup Collection

Jill Stuart Summer 2014 Makeup Collection

Oh lovely day! The Jill Stuart Summer 2014 Makeup Collection has launched Japan! It’s a stunning aquatic themed collection with soft shades of aqua, yellow, and peach for eyes with a delicate sweep of pink and peach for cheeks.

I likely won’t indulge as some of these shades are a little too pastel for me but I did so enjoy looking at all these beautiful pieces!
