Hauled It: Lush Comforter Lotion Review

hauled

Early November the Lush UK forum allowed all the Lush addicts to vote on a Lush scent they absolutely adored to be made into a perfume and lotion. The Muse quickly hurried over to cast her vote and was pleased that one of the scents that would be created in the products was Lush Comforter!

Weeeeeee!

The Muse hauled a few bottles and jars of Lush Comforter Body Lotion and Lush Comforter Perfume to stock in her beauty vault.

Lush+Comforter+Body+Lotion+2

Today the Muse will give you a brief review of Lush Comforter Body Lotion and tell you how to haul Comforter in other formats even though you can’t get the lotion or perfume at the moment.

When asked what Lush Comforter smells like the Muse is quite fond of telling the world that it smells like a brand new eraser. Remember when you were a kid and had cute little smelly erasers shaped like fruits, candy, or even Hello Kitty for that matter? That’s what Comforter reminds me of. It’s terribly complex to explain but it’s mostly made up of berries and cream-like fragrance. You’ll get sweet with a bit of tarty twang which is from the cassis that’s a main note of the blend.

Lush+Comforter+Body+Lotion+1

Now the body cream is simply stunning! It smells wonderful, lingers long, and absorbs quickly onto the skin leaving behind the sweet, tartness I was trying to explain above. It’s an extra thick cream for soothing dry skin while smelling so good you’ll want to eat it! Oh almost forgot did I mention it’s pink!

Although it’s near impossible to get the body lotion at the moment (unless your swapping skills are sharp!) the Muse highly suggests nabbing Lush Comforter Bubble Bar or Lush Comforter Shower Gel so you can experience the candy-like bliss that the Muse does when using her lotion and perfume!

Mmmm! Total Muse Approval on this one! Lush Comforter is a staple item in this Muse’s bath and body routine!

WANT: Lush The Strokes Hair Treatment

Ooooooooooo looks what’s coming back to Lush!

lush+the+strokes

Welcome back gorgeous!

The Muse absolutely adores Lush Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze and she welcomed it with open arms into the Lush haircare family however with it’s release the Muse had to bid farewell to her favorite hair treatment, The Strokes.

But it’s back!

Lush has introduced The Strokes back into the Retro Lush Catalog and the Muse is all about stocking up on a few and stashing them in her fridge! The Strokes tames my curls and adds tons of shine and body! It smells fresh and citrus like and leaves my hair scented as such for days and days and days after using!

To use The Strokes simply slap a heaping amount on dry hair and slip on a shower cap or wrap your head in a towel. The Muse normally runs a towel under extremely hot water, rings it out, and wraps around her with the treatment on. I leave it on for about an hour although they suggest 20 minutes or so. After the hour is up I rinse off and shampoo (no conditioner required) and I’m left with smooth, soft locks that remain as such for at least a month!

Best hair treatment evers!

The Muse adores The Strokes and is happy for it’s return! Remember kids Lush Hair Treatments only last 3-4 months so use them in that time or they’ll go bad!

Snag yours from Lush for $17.95 USD per a pot!

What’s your fav Lush hair treatment?

Lush Frothy The Snowman Review

Baby, it’s cold outside!

Damn that Tom Jones! I’d fling my panties at him any day of the week!

Fact of the matter is it really is cold outside! The Muse just got home after fighting with traffic and idiotic New York drivers. But she’s safe and sound in her house now. At the moment it’s a stormin’ outside and 15 inches of snow is expected to land outside. The good news is it makes it feel more like Christmas but the bad news is that the Muse happens to be way too old to go outside and build a snowman! Darn.

View from the Muse’s makeup room!

But she really doesn’t have to forsake that snowman….Lush has a solution!

There isn’t anything in the world like a really hot bath when the chill of the winter is howling outside your window. Forsaking the outdoor snowman for an indoor one in my bath was the way to go today! Meet Lush Frothy the Snowman Bubble Bar:

Picture+004

Isn’t he cute?

Covered with flakes of coconut he’s supposed to smell like liquorice allsorts! The Muse thinks he kinda smells like Lush Curly Wurly Shampoo though, all tropical and vanilla like!

Frothy creates mounds of soft, fluffy bubbles (hence his name…froth…..bubbles…get it?) in your bath while scenting your hair, body, and skin with a mix of coconut, licorice, and vanilla. He’s quite moisturizing and after stepping from the tub you’ll notice how soft and smooth he’s made your skin! The Muse thinks he’s rather cute as a stocking stuffer or a little topper on a gift.

Picture+011

The only sad thing about Frothy the Snowman is you have to crumble him up into little pieces to use him in your bath but once you get over mourning his broken little body you’ll be happy to step into your hot bathtub filled with lovely, scented bubbles to relax and de-stress!

Crumbled remains of Frothy waiting to melt away into masses of bubbles!

He’s a holly jolly soul and welcome in my bathtub anytime of the year but sadly he told the Muse not to cry as he’s limited edition and will be gone after Christmas but he may be back again someday!

Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel Review

Someone said it’s the most wonderful time of the year, the Muse thinks it was Andy Williams.

The Muse thinks Andy Williams is the best thing since toast and tea although she also thinks they may only tug him out of the closet when they need a little Christmas. You ever notice he pops up in the weirdest places? This year he was dancing around 34th Street during the Thanksgiving Day Parade! Yup…they def take him down, dust him off, and use him when they need a little Christmas around! Afterward they tuck him safely back in the closet until next year! They do the same for Dick Clark during the New Year you know!

andy williams

Dontcha just want to go into your closet right now and search out your bestest Christmas sweater after viewing that pic? I know I do!

Well anyway the moral of today’s story is that the Muse thinks Andy Williams does a fine job of making it the most wonderful time of the year but she also thinks that Lush Snow Fairy lends a special helping of Holiday cheer to my shower, bath, and hair, making it a truly wonderful time of the year!

Picture+007

Picture+013

It’s a sad state of affairs that Lush Snow Fairy is only around once a year and like Andy Williams it gets tucked away and doesn’t come back until next Christmas so now would be a good time to stock up on as many bottles as your bathroom cupboard can hold because you don’t want to be without Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel this entire year do you?

What Lush has to say about Snow Fairy:

Sparkly pink, sweet-as-sugar shower gel for fluffy, fruity fairies

We thought that this cotton-candy scented, sparkly gel would be just the sweet surprise for small girls who like wearing party dresses and waving wands. Amazed we were when we found fully grown hairy men using it too. (They send other people off to buy it for them, but we know!) It’s a Christmas best seller and you know best! So she’s back. Stock up before she flits off to Fairyland again.

Picture+009

What the Muse says:

If you love sweet scents that are girlish and pretty this would be one to grab. It’s difficult to describe Snow Fairy and although it’s been compared to cotton-candy the Muse thinks it’s so much more! It has a bit of vanilla, a bit of a wicked fruitiness, and just the right touches of pink. The Muse concludes that if pink smelled it would have the scent of Snow Fairy attached to it! Sadly, I cannot say more about it because it’s difficult to put into words exactly what it smells like but rest easy as the Muse absolutely adores it and thinks you will too!

Picture+010

Snow Fairy is bubblegum pink with a bit of shiny gold glitter but don’t worry the glitter washes off easily! You can use this in your shower or to lather up your hair (oh my nothing like Snow Fairy scented hair) or if you so please a little squirt in the tub will give you tons of moisturizing, sweetly scented bubbles!

Picture+011

The Muse is telling you all about the virtues of Lush Snow Fairy Shower Gel today because she thinks your holiday will be a bit more wonderful if you snag some of this great shower gel! Just like Snowcake it’s Muse Approved for purchase and well worth getting a few to last you and keep you sweet smelling all year long!

Lush Tea Tree Toner Tab Review

Pop Pop Fizz Fizz! Oh what a relief it is!

Ok, we are probably all way too young to remember that one but my mum used to randomly sing it to make me laugh when I was little and it came to mind when I whipped out my Lush Tea Tree Toner Tab last night! Hehe!

Picture+010

I’ve been using Lush toner tabs for a while and I realized, “hey I haven’t reviewed any yet on Musings!” so here the Muse be with a review special for you! Love me much? At the moment Lush has three toner tabs available and I’m reviewing for you today the Tea Tree Toner Tab and later on this week or next I’ll review the other two tablets!

The “tabs” are tiny tablets, about the size of a quarter, that you drop in hot water and steam your face with. You can do this in any number of ways such as dropping one into a large bowl of steaming water or, as the Muse prefers, fill your sink with hot water, drop a tablet in, and cover your head with a towel! Poof! Bob’s your Uncle! You’ll be steaming happily away! They fizz happily away while the dissolve like your favorite bath bomb which brings the Pop Pop Fizz Fizz song to mind! If you totally didn’t get that here’s some simple instructions with graphics from those kind people at Lush:

toner tabs howto

Lush Tea Tree Toner Tab is actually for troubled, traumatized skin. So if your skin is sensitive or acne prone this would be the toner you’ll want. My skin is not sensitive nor do I have acne but I’m curious so that accounts for why I purchased this one!

Picture+011

Picture+015

I’ve heard various complaints about how horrible this tab smells but honestly I didn’t smell much of anything other than the faint scent of salt. Aside from that I really got no smell at all from this but maybe my nose isn’t sensitive enough to pick up exactly what it is that’s so “horrible” smelling. Shrug! Who knows! After steaming my face with this I honestly felt no difference considering I don’t have problem skin however after my steam I dipped a piece of facial muslin in the water and proceeded to wipe my face. Lush recommends using all the lovely water from your steaming to tone your face with so you’re actually getting two products in one! Yay! I loved this idea! One day, in the near future, the Muse will share her beauty secret and tell you all about an amazing product called Rosewater and Glycerin but for now she’ll tell you that Tea Tree Toner Tab actually has about the same consistency as Rosewater and Glycerin. The tab makes the water feel heavenly and full of moisture so while you wipe you’ll notice your skin feeling as if you applied a bit of a light moisturizer to your skin.

The bad news….

As much as I adored the moisturizing feel of the water, I found out later that it seriously created a problem for my skin. I suspect that since this is for problem skin, that would also mean oily skin. Normally Tea Tree Oil, Water, Etc…is used to mattify oily skin which I think caused my problem. Almost as soon as I dried my face off I noticed that my cheeks had dry, itchy patches! Yak! Even after my moisturizer my skin was still feeling somewhat tight and dry so indeed this isn’t the toner tab for me. I’m thinking this would be lovely in the Summer when my skin is feeling slippery but at the moment this definitely isn’t something to reconsider using!

All in all I rather liked the feel of the water after my steam however since my skin isn’t problematic I can’t report on any improvement. It’s worth trying out one for yourself if you have acne or problem areas you’re wanting to address! I trust Lush skincare with my life so I’m sure you’ll see some sort of improvement after a few uses plus the price of $1.50 USD per a tab isn’t too bad at all!

In other news I had heard that one girl took a tab, dropped it in a spray bottle, shook it up, and used it as a toner! That sounds rather interesting and cheaper than purchasing a bottle of Lush Tea Tree Water! I personally won’t try it until Summer though.

All in all this tab doesn’t get my Muse Approval but I do think it’s worth checking out for those with problem skin!

Anyone try these?

Tried this one in particular?

Tell the Muse!
