Tarte Gifts from the Lipstick Tree Achiote Color Collection Review is turning into my new favorite collection for Summer 2012. I’m a matchy match kinda girl so having a set with blush, lipgloss, and a lip tint all in the same shade, well, that has my name written all over it.
The collection features three full size products in a brand new shade (brand new for many but not so new for QVC junkies as the shade was available before in a gift set) entitled Achiote.
Achiote literally is a reference to the “lipstick tree” as it is a common treat that grows in the tropical regions of South America and is dubbed the lipstick tree due to the natural pigment produced from the seeds it bears. The women of Brazil use this pigment to enhance their natural beauty.
As with most Tarte products the formula is paraben and mineral free.
Gotta love that.
Considering a single blush is $25 and a gloss $21 this is a nice little set that includes three products for $42 that fair outweight the cost per an item.
Let’s take a look!
Don’t quote me but I could have sworn the new Sephora Harmony Powder was available in two shades but since the new Sephora website launched, I can’t seem to find the other shade.
I’m having one of my senior moments maybe.
This is multi-purpose face powder with tangerine-inspired hues according to Sephora but honestly, inspired is the keyword here as there really isn’t a whole lot of tangerine going on here, merely soft peachy shades of color.
Take a look!
Somehow May won’t feel May without a Pirate movie plus September 19th is ages away so speakin’ like a pirate right now probably wouldn’t be as funny as it would in September…
Although if it was up to me we’d all go around Arrr’ing our way through the day.
May is almost here and no pirate movie this year sadly but I’ll make it a little easier on you and go ahead and review DuWop Seashell Dual and Lip Dual to get you in the spirit of things.
Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Blush Duo is a lovely split design that houses not one but two blushes. This is interesting one as the shades are the same here but the finish is different.
Of course, being me, I have to nit pick everything apart. Maybe a lighter shade and a darker shade would have been nicer rather than including two of the same shades.
Just a thought.
Here’s my word on the new Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Blush Duo.
I do believe, don’t quote me, that the Sephora Color of the Year Prisma Chrome Blush in Apricot Brandy is a little sneak peek of what’s to come from Sephora.
I’m taking bets that this Summer or into Fall 2012 we’ll see more shades of Sephora Prisma Chrome Blush and if that’s the case, I’ll indulge.
