Eye Palettes

Lorac Wild For TANtalizer Collection is making its debut today on my face. It’s super hot today, first real hot day we got in New York, so a bronze-y look seemed the order of business when I woke up this morning.
I feel Lorac is terribly overlooked sometimes because they seriously make some of the best eye shadows ever and have such great, inexpensive sets during seasonal releases. Their Summer 2012 Collection is sizzling and their new Lorac Wild For TANtalizer Set is a mere $39 taking care of lips, eyes, face, and accessorizes you with a nifty bag too.

I dunno about you but I definitely have a certain affection for pretty powders. But I have grown up a little and my makeup life has matured to a point where I’ll analyze said pretty powder and ask myself a few questions prior to a purchase.
- Do I really need this powder?
- Am I just buying it because it’s pretty?
- Will I actually use it or will it sit in my stash unused merely brought out on special occasions to stare at?
Somethings you have to be a little grown up about these things but sadly, this technique doesn’t always work and I become overwhelmed by cute powders like the new MAC Beth Ditto Powder to the People, polka dots, ahhhhh!
Sometimes it’s tough resisting but in this case, you probably won’t need to dish out $38.

I was vaguely curious about the new Lavshuca Pure Blossoming Eyes Limited Edition Set released for Summer 2012 in Japan.
Lavshuca favors these little sets lately and hasn’t really updated with a major release in a while. I haven’t been following the brand lately since they release so many repetitive shades just in a new stylish way. It’s easy enough to get excited about a new design and packaging but sometimes I have to remind myself that the shades aren’t unique at all.
The Pure Blossoming Eyes Set is an example of repetitive shades however it did contain Clear Stay Eye Base which intrigued me so I ended up heading in for a purchase.
Here’s some thoughts!

Ahhh…
Sephora + Pantone Universe Color of the Year Eyeshadow Quad, what I thought would be one of my favorite releases from the Sephora + Pantone Universe Collection.
I was every so eager to spice up my eyes with tangerine. Dare I say, I wear it well? I can definitely do peach on my eyes but it depends of course on the shade.
Let’s take a look at the Color of the Year Eyeshadow Quad and see if I can work it and how good the quality is.

Oh excitement, the Too Faced Summer Collection 2012 is appearing at www.toofaced.com today! I was reading on Twitter that the sale was for Glam members only, I’m not a Glam member but I was able to tuck a palette into my cart without any issues, so long as you log it, it seems to allow the purchase!
Kewl!
Did anyone grab anything up yet?
For me, upon first seeing the collection, the new Summer Eye Palette pretty much had me at hello, how are ya! I own pretty much all of the Too Faced Eyeshadow Boxes and was eager to add this to my stash as well. Visually, it’s pretty darn stunning. There’s a bit of a sparkle in there, some playful colors, and the palette just gives off a Summer-y vibe. It also happens to house some fairly bright shades compared to the other palettes with pops of pink, aqua, and coral.

It’s today, it’s today.
The new Tarte The Miracle of Maracuja Collection premiered on QVC early this morning. Some of you have taken full advantage of the set and have it in your greedy hands already.
What do you think so far?
The value of $60 for eight full pieces is quite a bargain particularly if you’ve never tried Tarte before. The set is also available on an auto delivery option which seals in the $60 price tag and allows you to get two more sets (in different seasonal shades) sent to you automatically in the next few months. If you missed my post, I already have images available of the sets that will follow after your first order just click here to view them.
