Eye Primer

There’s something to be said about an eyeshadow primer that not only holds eyeshadow in place but also successfully acts on its own to create an even, brighter eye look without the aid of shadow application.
Dontcha just love eyeshadow primers that as a concealer for your lid?
I love ‘em!
Napoleon Perdis Eye Will Survive Primer is just the trick for working with or without eyeshadow. The choice is entirely up to you.

Prestige doesn’t update often with newly released products so I kinda jumped on top of their Primed & Ready Eye Primer when I saw it at my local drugstore.
Thing is, I’m shopping for a new eye primer at the moment. Urban Primer Potion just doesn’t cut it for me. The formula seems to have changed and it doesn’t seem to hold my shadow as long as it once did. Crazy I know, but I really stick by the fact that the formula seems to be pretty different.
Let’s take a look, maybe Prestige Primed & Ready Eye Primer will be on the case.

The new Korres Korres Quercetin & Oak Antiageing Eye Primer allows for prepping under and over eyes a la Benefit Stay Don’t Stray. I kinda love the idea of a multitasking primer that works at keeping both my eyeshadow and my concealer in place!
The formula is also rich in antioxidants Quercetin and oak extract, as well as sunflower extract and vitamin E, which helps to smooth fine lines and wrinkles while improving skin’s elasticity and texture. Preps, primes, plus anti-aging abilities? Oh yay!

I’m quite happy with Urban Decay Primer Potion, it’s my HG after all (holy grail)! But I was interested in trying Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Shadow Primer for one specific reason, brightening! The formula reminds me of Laura Mercier Eye Base Essentials and I was thinking of it not only as a primer for my shadows but also a base that would brighten up my lid area a la Benefit Lemon Aid.
Mind you, I’m a lover and firm believer in Lemon Aid but I don’t cheating on it to check out what works best and better.
Let’s explore Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Shadow Primer and see what the low down is!

Imagine a world where fall out from your shimmery, glittery shades of shadow didn’t exist. Wait, I’m closing my eyes now, I’m picturing it….um nope, can’t imagine dat!
I have so much sparkle crack for my eyes it’s surreal. I love me some shimmer. However, I do hate the fall out drama that occurs with the application of such products. Cheeks, face, no place is safe from sparkly shadow during application and it pretty much falls anywhere and any place it damn well pleases.
Too Face Shadow Insurance Glitter Glue Glitter Bonding Eye Shadow Primer promises to seal glitter on my lids and hey maybe it’ll take up sword and do battle with the fall out these shades create.

The look of love, it’s tonight, it’s tonight!
Even though I’m not technically a child of the 80′s as I had my tween and teen years in the early 90′s I still appreciate everything having doing with the era particularly the music thanks to my older sister over exposing it to me as a child. w00t! It was the second British Invasion and such an amazing era of great music.
Sorry I got off topic there but the new Too Faced Look of Love Set got me humming that little ditty this morning plus it’s Valentine’s Day so I was hoping to wear that romantic Look of Love out today!

I absolutely adored the idea behind the Mally Eye Brightening Long-Wear Shadow Base Duo when I saw her present it on QVC. The concept of the product allows for a long wearing base to be worn as a primer for shadows with a pearl finish or to be worn alone to brighten the area up plus an eye brighten which had a matte finish to be worn under your eye to brighten the eye area up. Basically Mally combined the two products in one compact and allows each product to perform two great functions.
It seemed ideal to me as I’m always looking for a great base outside of my beloved Benefit Love Aid to use as both an eyeshadow primer or just worn alone plus something to brighten my eye area. Who doesn’t want wide awake, fatigue-less eyes?
This compact sounded like the ultimate solution!
Here are my thoughts!

I’ve been waiting to check out the Tarina Tarantino Dollskin Eye Primer since its release. I’m pretty sure it was the name that captured my interest at first glance, Doll Skin? For some reason it conjures up images of perfectly porcelain faced dolls with flawless skin.
Let’s have a look!

Stila has two brand new primers available for Spring 2011 called Prime Pot. Taking a quick glance at ‘em you’ll instantly think, “oh Stila Smudge Pots!” That’s at least the first thing that entered my head when I seen ‘em!
These come in two shades so you have a choice for lighter or darker depending on your skin type since they aren’t only working as a primer but also as a lid concealer of sorts a la Benefit Lemon Aid. I’m personally a die harder when it comes to Lemon Aid however I like to dabble around with various products to see what works better.
Let’s have a peek at Stila Prime Pots and see what the good word is!

Primers come and go out of my life but Urban Decay Primer Potion remains my main man. Nothing like it. It locks eyeshadow on for extreme wear ALL damn day! Loves!
But of course, as any good blogger and makeup junkie, I dabble with other primers but I always come back to my beloved UDPP.
My latest venture in eye primer land is the NYX HD Eye Shadow Primer. Brand new to NYX this is a high performance primer that evens out skin tone, smooths out lines, preps, primes, holds shadows in place, and walks the dog…I lied about the last part.
Does it work?

Anyone successful scoring some of the Hard Candy Holiday Gift Sets? Lots of endless, useless, and torturing steps through the Evil Empire but no luck here.
Good news though, some are available on Walmart’s website and have free shipping if it appeals!
I did get a Hard Candy Bad Girl Next Door Set to try out which should appeal to those wanting a quickie, budget smoked out eye look!
