Maybelline Master Prime Primer is a new, Spring 2015 permanent face primer formula that Maybelline is launching now at drugstores that’s available in three formulations.
I’ve been using Maybelline Master Prime Primer Blur + Smooth and Maybelline Master Prime Blur + Illuminate for the last week or so and thought I’d review and swatch both for you today and share my experience with you!
Banila Co Prime Primer Classic is a silicone facial primer that recently came in my Memebox Banila Co Superbox. It couldn’t come at a better time since the one I currently have is nearing an end. I mostly rely on Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer or Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector but when I want a more polished looks I tend to use Banila Co Prime Primer.
I have drier skin so I prefer silicone-free primers as they tend to be more hydrating for me and also silicone primers just pill on my skin or they feel itchy. But I have a few exceptions and Prime Primer is one.
Revlon Photoready Prime + Anti Shine Balm is a clear, transparent mattifying balm that’s a lot like the recently introduced Covergirl Tru Magic Skin Perfector Mattifier.
Revlon Photoready Prime + Anti Shine is marketed as a product you can use alone to minimize the appearance of pores for a smooth, natural finish on skin or as a primer, applied to skin prior to makeup. Or you can use like Mally Face Defender and applied it over your makeup to blur pores, minimize shine and oil, and create a smooth, soft finish on skin.
I recently purchased this at my local Bed, Bath, and Beyond and it should start popping up at other mass drugstores soon with a bigger push for Spring 2015 I imagine.
Let’s take a look!
Tony Moly Panda’s Dream White Magic Cream is a brightening makeup/cream base that eases the appearance of redness, dark spots, and dullness. I was excited about this because it quite reminded me of Tony Moly Ice Queen Multi Play Cream SPF 30 which I really loved! This just seems a new version of it but with new packaging…!
Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
Sleek Makeup Control & Shine Prime ($11.99) is a new Oil-Free Mattifying Facial Primer to control oil and act as a base for your foundation. If you recall I happen to be the biggest fan evers of Becca Ever-Matte Poreless Priming Perfector which I consider one of the best facial primers ever.
Sleek Makeup Control & Shine Prime isn’t a dupe for it but the texture is very similar so I suspect if you love Becca’s as much as I do you’ll really love Sleek’s formula and might even consider it a nice beauty budget swap up!
