Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation ($62) is a new (and expensive) skincare foundation formula that launched for Spring 2015 that will be available as a permanent part of the Bobbi Brown Makeup Collection.
I’m actually both a hater and a lover of skincare foundations. Most times I find them a little too greasy and oily but I like the theory that I’m treating my skin as well as providing coverage for it. I’m a multitasking demon and I like my makeup products to also multitask so combining skincare along with my foundation into one product is a plus. But as I said, there are downfalls to such formulas. Most times serum foundations are all sorts of oily on my skin and not a terribly pleasant experience. And this is from a girl with dry skin who you’d expect to enjoy serum foundation but no, not my thing thanks very much!
However, Bobbi Brown Intensive Skin Serum Foundation could prove the exception to the rule!
Lancome Miracle Cushion Liquid Cushion Compact Foundation is Lancome’s new, first ever cushion makeup which has debuted for Spring 2015 in the permanent Lancome Makeup Collection. I’m hearing a lot about how this is the “first ever cushion makeup”…ummm no. This isn’t the first ever cushion makeup as we’ve seen plenty of it from Korean brands in the last two or so years so there isn’t really anything new about it.
However, if you aren’t privy to the Asian beauty world it will feel like a completely new, unique, and innovative product. But….you have to also keep in mind that we’ve already had cushion makeup in the US market for the past several months and even so far back as a year if you take into consideration that Amore Pacific brought their Cushion Compact to the US in 2013 and more recently both It Cosmetics and Mally Beauty have introduced cushion makeup products.
So yeah, Lancome Miracle Cushion Liquid Cushion Compact Foundation doesn’t quite fit the bill for BRAND new or innovative but none the less it is an exciting launch for the brand.
Laura Geller Baked Liquid Radiance Foundation ($39) is a new full coverage illuminating foundation that launched several weeks ago on QVC. Upon hearing the same I instantly had thoughts of the brightening and flawless finish I get from my beloved Laura Geller Baked n Brighten Powder.
I should have known better!
Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation ($7) is a new Invisible Camouflage Foundation launching with the Hard Candy Spring/Summer 2015 Collection that will be available in 8 permanent shade selections.
Hi, I’m the Muse, I’m a foundation and concealer snob. If there is one thing in the makeup world I believe in splurging on it would be 1. foundation and 2. concealer. I am under the impression that I cannot for the life of me not only find a color match from drugstore foundations or concealers but also find a formula I actually LIKE using. Some are too heavy, some too cakey, others are orange, too beige…it’s just a sea of foundations that just do not work for me. Rarely am I able to actually find a foundation product at the drugstore that I’m happy with! Likewise for concealer (although the drugstore concealer world has been making some huge strides lately)!
I present you with Hard Candy Glamoflauge Foundation and challenge you to buy it and use it. And proceed to love it.
