Estee Lauder has teamed up with Harper’s Bazaar for the second year for their Fabulous At Every Age Contest. At first glance the MAC & Micky Contractor Collection does so deceive. I was thinking, “eh, probably nothing here to see…”
However, there is a gem or two in the rough even if you think the collection might not be suited to your skin tone. The shadows are all wearable in my opinion and one are two are really keepers, the fluidlines will easily be a must have if you’re a fan since the colors are stunning gem shades, and believe it or not the concealers in the lighter ranges might work well if you prefer a more lighter concealer (I always go lighter with my concealer).
Obviously MAC is gearing the collection towards a specific skin type so not everyone will be able to take advantage of some of the base options in this collection however the color products are definitely a go particularly if you like nudes (the lipstick shades are all very nude-ish and beige) or bolder shades (the shadows are all extra bold).
Let’s have a look at some swatches.

I couldn’t resist the new Shu Uemura Lip Duo & Tints from the Shu Uemura Takano Abracadabra Fantasy Collection for Holiday 2010. I admit I had my doubts they wouldn’t work because my lips are pigmented plus they just appeared very nude (I can’t do nudes) but I wanted to try them out anyway since the promo images really made them look darling.
Did they work?

Ahh Chanel spicing things up this year with their Les Tentations de Chanel Holiday Collection 2010. It doesn’t quite meet the traditional standards in our Holiday makeup world does it?
Delicate shades of brown, pops of pink, and hints of bronze make up Chanel Holiday 2010 and one gets more of a vibe of Spring than Holiday at first glance. But try it out for size and flushed cheeks and a fierce smoky brown eye later and you’ll agree this does indeed speak the language of Winter.
Did you haul it?
