I’m not really a cream shadow person but a while back ago I suddenly discovered some unfounded love for them. It’s kinda slim pickings at the local drugstore if you’re wanting to indulge in such a shadow medium but the recent introduction of Covergirl Intense ShadowBlast Primer had me hyped.
Yeah baby, bring it!
Basically Covergirl pimps ‘em as a cream shadow with a built in primer. Hey, cool, so it won’t fade or crease and I don’t need primer prior to use? Brilliant.
The color selection was wow aspiring aided by the fact that freaking Drew Barrymore was looking all kinds of ridiculously wicked in the commercial.
Come on doesn’t the commercial make you want to run out and buy every shade? She looks stupid awesome!

As you know the TokoDoki Cromatico Eyeshadow Palettes have gone on clearance at Sephora (Yay for makeup on sale). As cute as these are I didn’t really love them as much as I do the newer limited edition Cromatico Palettes that Sephora has started doing.
Let’s break it down….
The original palettes featured four shades of shadow, a charm, and a smaller cube packaging. The newer palettes feature six shades of shadow, a smaller charm, and a larger cardboard style packaging.
Although bigger in size, I find the new Cromatico Palettes cuter plus I actually like the addition of two more shades of shadow.
Which do you prefer?
Old version or new?
For Fall 2011 the Tokidoki Royal Pride Hercolino Palette takes to the jungle for a safari adventure in the rough and tough terrain.
Maybelline Eye Studio Color Explosion Eye Shadow is testimony to the fact that you can find Japanese style eyeshadow at your drugstore. When Maybelline ventured into their Eye Studio Collection in late 2009 beginning of 2010 it was a step in a new direction for drugstore eyeshadows.
Let’s face it, can you name a ton of eyeshadows that you’d buy at the drugstore that are actually GOOD?
I can’t sadly. Most are chalky and sadly, lacking. However, drugstore makeup is slowly making small steps towards successfully creating wearable makeup but with those steps comes a huge jack up in price too but I don’t mind, I’ll pay more if I’m getting a quality product.
Eye Studio Plush Silk Eyeshadow Quads from Maybelline were a step in the right direction. Some folks hated these, I personally loved them….speaking as a fan of Japanese brands these are some of the closet style of shadow formula you’ll get in North America that mimic the formula and texture of an Asian eyeshadow purchased in an Asian Drugstore abroad…!
