This one time at band camp…
You know a story is coming on dontcha?
I purchased a Bobbi Brown Concealer Palette from QVC a few years ago and I didn’t love it but the more I used it the more it grew on me until suddenly one day I found I couldn’t live without it. The palette came with a Bobbi Brown Dual End Concealer Brush. One side had a typical smallish concealer brush and the other had a blending brush which you could use to apply powder under your eyes to set concealer. Now at the time of my purchase I was suffering some serious dry eye syndrome and I was just discovering that indeed age was creeping up on me and placing powder anywhere near my eyes was a big no-no unless I wanted to age myself by 50 years. The Bobbi Brown Dual End Concealer Brush changed all of that. It became a staple item in my daily makeup regime, an absolute essential item, the I can’t live without you brush of choice…you get the point.
Tragedy struck earlier this year when I lost the brush.
OMG! Horror! It disappeared one day and was never to be found again. Some folks consoled me, told me go out and purchase a blending brush from MAC and use that but it was honestly never the same thing.
So I spent near $80 bucks on another Bobbi Brown Concealer Palette, which I didn’t need considering I had plenty in my other, just so I could get that beloved brush back.
Yes, it was worth that much.
For some odd reason Bobbi doesn’t sell this duo alone but she does have an eyeshadow blending brush that’s similar but not the same so splurging for another concealer palette was well worth the purchase to get back that beloved brush!
You, lucky enough, don’t have to go through the same drama of finding this brush because it’s available now in the Bobbi Brown Deluxe Mini-Brush Set for Holiday 2010.
My best friend’s Jai has a little cousin, umm wait, scratch that. She’s not really little nor does she like to be referred to as little. She’s an adult at the tender age of 11.
No seriously, my friend’s cousin is 11 going on 30. We are just completely in awe that this child is growing up way too fast. Either that or he and I are so very old and we didn’t realize it. We recently took her out for a little shopping expedition and ended up at an Icing store. Me being me I was all about oooo’ing and ahhh’ing over the cute accessories and makeup bits and bobs although much of the makeup is geared towards tweens and earlier teens I still loving picking through it all.
My findings led me to Flaunt Beauty. Anyone see this stuff yet? It’s over priced makeup and fragrance available exclusively at The Icing. I’m such a sucker I absolutely fell in love with the cutesy palettes because they sported cute Pin Up Girls. Loves!
Ahhh phew. After discussing E.L.F. Cosmetics we definitely need to liven this place up with some posh, luxe, gorgeous makeup and Clarins Barocco Face Palette fits the bill.
Ahhh the great debate. Should you indulge in the E.L.F. Endless Eyes Pro Mini Eyeshadow Palette or shouldn’t you? 32 Eyeshadows, sponge applicator, mirror, nice slim compact, $5 buck price tag….sounds dreamy right? Where could you possibly go wrong indulging since the price isn’t too bad….
This year E.L.F. has two of these limited edition palettes available for the Holidays. The one I’ll be reviewing here today is the mini version which includes 32 shadows for $5 bucks and there’s another, which I didn’t purchase, that includes 100 eyeshadows for $10 bucks.
First off, these are obviously way popular because they are sold out however E.L.F. is allowing orders for when they do come back in stock. Secondly, I purchased mine on a sheer whim because I know alot of people wanted to hear about it, see photos, etc…prior to purchasing it for themselves. And thirdly, I am a bit of a makeup snob and palettes like this don’t always garner my love and attention. Slapping 100’s of eyeshadow into a palette can prove great particularly from brands like Urban Decay, hey bring that on, but present me with one from E.L.F. and I’m naturally a little wary about the quality.
Let’s have a look and see if this bad boy lives up to it’s “professional status” as dubbed by E.L.F.
Mmmmm blast from my Stila Summer past here. I was sorting through my “to be reviewed” pile a few days ago, that would be a large pile of products that get photographed and tossed into a bin for safe keeping. This pile tends to get out of control sometimes so you’ll find me diving in head first and proceeding to rummage around to see what looks good for reviewing quite often.
Anyway, during my daily plunder through the bin I realized, wow, I didn’t review the Stila One Step Primer Color that was released with Stila’s Summer Collection this year.
Anyone haul it?
We had discussed which you would buy at the time since Summer was all about various cream blushes and this happened to be one that did everything plus walked your dog too! Stila dubs it a primer, eyeshadow, highlighter, lip color, cheek color, and bronzer. Ummm…dare I say NOT!
