If you’re looking for cheap, who isn’t nowadays? Check out the new mark Summer Collection for 2009 entitled Exotics.
Introducing new mark Lip Exotics Lip Lacquer Hook Up for $6 each available in five shades. These are a conditioning, high shine close with a cool spearmint flavor and a pigmented color payoff!
Kinda looks like MAC lip lacquers but way cheaper. I can get on board with these for sure. They were the first thing that caught my eye from this collection and possibly the best item available.
Also releasing are two mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Custom Color blushes in two new shades. These are $7 each and do not come with a palette, they are part of the custom color system so you’d have to buy a palette separate to stick them in. Although pretty they hold little appeal for me.
And finally mark Eye Exotics Eye Shadow Trio which contains three shades of shadow for wearing alone or combined. Again, not so thrilling and kinda reminds me of the Avon Marimekko palette I reviewed a few months ago, which was much nicer by the very way. I could get excited about this if they had more than one shade selection available, all that blue does little to excite me.
Not much of excitement here although the blush and the lip lacquers hold my interest (particularly the lippies). If you’re looking for a few budget friendly makeup options of Summer you may want to take a peep.
It’s all available now at the mark website.
Now the Muse can’t speak for herself, as she’s practically perfect in every way al la Mary Poppins, but there happens to me a brand new facial filling serum from Avon that our mum’s can take advantage of!
What? I really am perfect in all ways that excludes wrinkles…well ok I admit maybe I have one two under my eyes……
Jump ahead for the deets on Avon Anew Clinical Derma-Full X3 Facial Filling Serum….I dare you to say that three time’s really fast!
Avon steps up it’s game YET again in the skincare department with a brand new injectable-grade facial filler in serum form. Avon is all postal on the skincare world lately with all these interesting high tech wrinkle serums, lotions, and potions! Am I the only one that noticed this!? Yay revenge again the wrinkles!
This super concentrated serum has 3 times the level of an injectable-grade hyluronic acid for dramatic filling! Whoa dude. Erase those fine wrinkles and lines with this pistol! Oh by the way it’s not only good at filling lines but it comes in this sweet swirly design that’s kinda prettys.
Honestly, it’s a bit useless for me as I don’t have much in the way of deep lines to fill but I tried it out anyway. The formula is smooth and feels almost silicon-like. If nothing else it makes a fine prep and prime for makeup for me.
It promises that within 3 days you’ll see a visible reduction in deep folds and within two weeks a more youthful fullness to cheeks. And finally within four weeks you’ll see dramatically reduces the look of deep facial folds and hollowness.
Hyaluronic Acid is naturally produced by skin. It provides moisture and fullness but it’s production decreases with age which is where Avon Anew Clinical Derma-Full X3 Facial Filling Serum comes into play. The serum is formulated to stimulate filling fiber and helps restore a youthful fullness to face.
Hopefully this is around when the Muse’s face starts to catch up to her age! For now you don’t have to take my word for it, check out the Avon site for the raving reviews from users! Click!

I can feel the love here or maybe it’s the magic?
Omg wasn’t that the lamest excuse ever to post David Bowie pimps? Oh well. Dance Magic Dance! w00t!
Anyway the moral of this story is the magic happens to be in the Avon MagiX Tinted Face Perfector.
Merely $7.99 USD gets you a magic foundation that supposedly visibly minimizes pores with a suavy Optix (that’s Optix not Optic) Light Diffusing Technology. This holds back shine for up to 10 hours, reduces the look of fine lines, contains SPF 15, and will possibly drive you to work in the morning too. The powder is particularly interesting as it works as a BB cream would by adapting to your skin like dance magic!
Awesome! I wants it! Please can I has some now?
I know, I know we’re all terribly upset with Jillian Dempsey for being married to a man with better hair than our own. What do you think that’s like in the morning at the old Dempsey house?
Wake up, frizzy scary morning hair and your husband is sitting next to you cool, calm, and collected with nice smooth wavy brown locks. Oh the agony. Jillian, honey, I don’t envy you anymore!
Anyway, Jillian actually holds her own in the makeup world. She’s responsible for what used to be Deluxe Beauty…god I miss Deluxe. As of late Jillian’s taken the world of Avon by storm with little collections being released here
I must say up until now quite a bit of what she’s done has been pretty nice color wise and quality wise. Taking all that into consideration I was excited about the new Jillian Dempsey Celestial Spring Avon Collection that’s available this March.
Jump ahead for the details!
Jillian Dempsey Celestial Spring Avon Collection includes some key pieces for creating a little piece of Spring this season with shades of tranquil blues and pastel sky tones. The shades of the new Jillian Dempsey for Avon Celestial Eyeshadow shades kind of remind me of Bobbi Brown’s Surf Palette. Two shades are available in Moon Sand and Sunset Sky one of which is an ocean hue and the other a sandy gold. You can probably see what I mean about the Surf and Sand type of vibe I get from the two shadows. Quite nice. Each shade is baked and has a twinkling, shimmery finish. Likey! These are $8 USD each but I guarantee that Avon will offer a nice little steal on them sooner or later.
Follow up your sparkling eye look with Avon Big Color Glossy Lip Pencil which is a liner and gloss in one pencil! This is a moisturizing formula that glides onto lips leaving behind a shiny finish. They are $6 USD each and available in Glossy Celestial, Glossy Rose, Glossy Sand, and Glossy Sunset.
As the weather grows warmer a cream blush is always in favor! Check out Avon Be Blushed Cheek Color that will release with Celestial Spring in two shades for $8 USD each. With names like Icy Pearl and Tropical Peach the Muse can feel the love!
They’ll also be a new nail color release and an exclusive mascara created by Jillian Dempsey.

I’ll be reviewing the Jillian Dempsey Celestial Spring Collection shortly for you, keep your eyes peeled!
Last week the Muse was busy dialing Jenny’s number but she can stop all that now and dial the new Avon Spectra Lash Mascara up for a good time! It’s probably easier as Jenny hasn’t been answering since 1983, the Muse suspects she isn’t as hot as she once was.
You know you so want technology like this! Mascara with a built in dial that dials up to three to intensify your mascara experience. Bill Gates and Steve Jobs are so cranky they didn’t come up with this incredible concept before Avon!
Supposedly Avon Spectra Lash dials up 8x fuller lashes with just three clicks, the Muse thinks it’s easier than dialing 867-5309, I’m kinda lazy, three numbers is easier than seven. The question remains does it work.
Ummm actually yes kinda it does! It’s a bit gimmicky yes but that doesn’t take away from the fact that’s it’s a decent mascara with a great price tag. Hello $6 USD mascara it’s good to meet you, let’s be BFF in this scary economy, I’ll even let you hold my hand!
So the gimmick would be the dial but technically speaking since the dial does sorta work maybe it’s not a gimmick. Dialing 1 will get you full lashes, dialing two gives you fuller lashes, and dialing three gets you oh my god fullest lashes. I’ve no idea the technical side of this innovative, crazy cool dial but I suspect by twisting the dial you’re compressing the tube somehow and it gets you more or less mascara on your brush which in turn creates the fuller or less fuller look to lashes. In simple terms the mascara simply adds more or less mascara to the brush to create fuller lashes.
The overall formula is quite good with a nice inky formula. It’s waterproof and has nice long wear. It doesn’t keep curl particularly well but it does a great job of creating fuller, longer, thicker lashes when dialed up to three. I prefer the mascara stay dialed to three for the best results as 1 and 2 give my lashes a rather whimpy look but dialed to three they look nice and plump. However, you do have to be careful as this setting puts quite an excess of product on the brush which could cause clumping when applied. Be sure to curl prior to use and brush on slowly at first to avoid a clumpy look. I took three photos so you can see the difference each time I used the mascara with a different dial. I also took photos of the brush dialed on different settings.
All in all I think for the price Avon Spectra Lash Mascara performs quite well. Available in four shades for a $6 USD price tag makes it a nice Beauty on a Budget purchase. It’s worth checking out for the price as it performs quite well plus you get the novelty of whipping it out of your purse and showing your friends how you can dial your mascara….whoa…the coolness is just too much for this Muse!
