Cargo Color Eyeshadow Palette in Tahiti Review

If you’re a tiny bit tired of all the metallics, vampy lips, and generally dark smoked out looks that normally come with the Fall season you might want to indulge in some of Cargo’s vibrant, bolder, and hipper Fall Collection.

I few weeks ago I told you about some of Cargo’s new Fall Collection and I was quite happy to get my hands on one of the several Cargo Color Eyeshadow Palettes released this season. Although Cargo definately has a bit of a natural, neutral look on offer for those who prefer a warmer makeup for the cooler weather, they also happen to have spiced it up a bit and added some pretty Muse friendly shades to their new palettes. Being unconventional is the spice of the Muse’s life and thankfully Cargo obviously agrees when they created the Color Eyeshadow Palette in Tahiti.

You know how much I adore teals, aquas, and greens and Cargo’s Color Eyeshadow palette in Tahiti contains all of the above and then some! One of the key things that grabbed my attention about Cargo’s new palette is the very interesting packaging. Cargo has for many years come in a unique tin casing which was quite a different presentation for makeup however in the last two years they have definately branched out and added new and interesting packaging. Cargo hasn’t forgotten it’s roots and still offers many of the same tin cases to this day that they always had.

New Packaging vs. Old Packaging

The Cargo Color Eyeshadow Palette is actually considerably different from those tins of old. This palette comes in a slick, heavy clear plastic case with a gorgeous image on the cover. Open it up and four large shadows await your hand plus a generous size mirror!

The shadows are huge and comparable to Bobbi Brown’s Metallic Eyeshadow singles. I think the thing that can be appreciated most about these shadows is the buildable color option. Each shade applies sheer and light however the color is easily buildable with a few extra swipes. Going from a lighter look to an eyepopping look with ease and simplicity definately appeals. I personally prefer a pop when I use colors like the ones in the Tahiti palette however many are a little bit scared of bolder shades. The palette makes it easy and goof proof to create a softer look without going completely bold. The shades aren’t heavily pigmented however with a heavier hand you can definately get awesome color payoff. They blend wonderfully well and are a very interesting silky texture. The entire palette contains four flattering shades that just work together which I love. My biggest pet peeve is being presented with a quad of shadows that don’t work together and leave me puzzling over how to use them, not the case with this palette. The colors simply work alone or together to create a stunning, bolder look for Fall.

The Tahiti palette contains a grassy green shade, a deeper grasshopper green shade, a true blue shade, and a greenish aqua shade. The colors are semi-matte and contain no shimmer however this does not prevent them from being great.

I created three seperate looks with my palette but you can easily get a dozen or more looks from the one palette by wearing each shade separately or combining shades to create different looks or colors. I was particularly delighted with how well each shade meshed and morphed with the next to create a new shade.

This look was created by using the lighter and darker greens in the palette.

This look was creating used three of the four shades. I used the greenish aqua on my lid and creased and deepened it by adding a bit of the blue. I finished the look by adding a bit of the deeper green shade to V of my eye.

This is my favorite look! I used the greenish aqua shade all over my lid and crease and lined my lower lash line with the blue color. I think the blue contrasts beautifully with the aqua!

With 8 shades to choose from and a $28 USD price tag I’m really liking Cargo’s Color Eyeshadow Palette for both it’s versatility and it’s stray from the Fall norm!

Tahiti is definately worth checking out! I enjoyed my adventure with this one!

Cargo Blu_Ray Concealer Review

Don’t I always hook you up with the latest and greatest in the cosmetic world? Since my concealer round up began I’ve reviewed quite a few items and today I’m adding to the reviews with a brand new concealer released for Cargo’s Fall Collection.

Today I’m bringing you a review of Cargo’s latest concealer that was released with the Fall Collection. Cargo Blu_Ray Concealer is a concealer and wrinkle eraser in one slick pen. W00t! Something that erases fine lines? The Muse is on the case!

First of all it has my very favorite style applicator a click pen. Click pens are simply the best when it comes to concealers and it’s truly a hassle free way of applying your concealer minus the mess. The interesting part of this is the applicator. Unlike most click pens that sport a brush style applicator this is actually a sponge applicator which fits the contour of the eye nicely and allows ease of use when smoothing the concealer on so less blending is done by your finger tips! Speaking of blending, this blends like a dream. It smooths on amazingly well and goes from a moisturizing blend to a powdery dry down. Although powder I fear when it comes to my under eyes as it tends to age me and crease this however did neither. Just offered soft, buttery coverage.

The formula will cover slight to medium dark circles but I’m unsure how well it’ll fair on extremely dark circles. I’m enjoying the creamy yet powdery texture of this and I definately deem it a fine concealer for the Summer humidity considering how long wearing it is. It’s been under my eyes since 5 this morning and still going strong at nearly 2 pm. Nice. No creasing and no caking under the eyes and it delivers on it’s promise of flawless coverage. Products like Cargo Blu_Ray concealer were created with the idea of high-definition filming in mind. It’s a product that’s meant to appear completely invisible while giving skin a flawless, airbrushed look. It does this perfectly well in my opinion and I can easily see myself reaching for this one daily.

Now the good part….

It contains something called Vilsilox which is a cosmetic alternative to Botox to smooth fine lines and wrinkles.

So far I have to say I like the coverage, love the finish, and love the long wear! It’s definately a good one! The Muse likey Cargo Blu_Ray Concealer and recommends checking it out for yourself!

Cargo Blu_Ray Concealer is sold at Sephora and check out more of the Blu_Ray Collection at Cargo Cosmetics website. Check out my Cargo Fall Collection post to read about some of the interesting goodies released!

A few new pieces have popped up on Sephora from Cargo Cosmetics that I’m a bit excited about.

A click pen style concealer that promises to banish wrinkles as well as dark circles.

Cargo Essential Eyeshadow Palette $32 USD
P218777 hero

An essential selection of naturals, nudes, and neutrals for creating a simple yet elegant eye look.

Cargo Color Eyeshadow Palette $28 USD
P218778 hero

A quad of four vibrant eye shadows to create one or several looks! Comes in eight shade selections!

The Cargo Color Eyeshadow Palette definately caught my eye as the color selection is vast with a multitude of color shades available. I’m also very excited about those exfoliating clothes which have a really great price plus are reusable. I liked the concealer as well but was disappointed that it was available in only two shade options so those with a darker tone will be unable to indulge.

All in all looks like a nice lot of new goodies from Cargo Cosmetics!

Cargo Glossy Greeting Card

Ahhhhh! The Muse purchases a lot of these each and every year and her friends go ga-ga over them!

Cargo Glossy Greeting Card as seen on Sephora.com
P196502 hero

That little pink dot happens to be a smidgen of Cargo gloss that’s good enough for about three to four uses!

Cool right? Gloss and a Christmas Card! What better way to share your passion for makeup than giving out these cards!

This year’s cards say “Wishing You Health, Happiness, and Glossperity” however the Muse liked last year’s cards better which featured a picture of Santa and beneath read “Here Comes Santa Gloss!”

$10 bucks gets you 5 cards and the Muse deems them perfect for giving to a special sister, best friends, and any true cosmetic lover in your life!

Cargo SmokyEye Kit

I’m not normally tempted by any of Cargo’s cosmetics. I do have a few odd pieces and I like it well enough but it’s not my brand of choice. I must admit that this year I did indulge in purchasing a huge lot of the cute Christmas cards they do (These say “Santa Gloss Is Coming to Town”! How freaking cute is that???!!!)!

I mean come on! What cosmetic whore do you know that can resist Christmas cards that have a dot of gloss on ‘em (that’s completely usable by the very way)! Chances are if you’re a mate of mine you got one of these last year and chances are my little ass might just be super corny and go right ahead and send these again this year teehee!

Anyway!

I am tempted by this:

The full size SmokyEye Brush has been on my wish list for a while so how cool is it that it’s bundled with this kit!? Pretty darn awesome in my opinion! I don’t believe this is a full size brush but probably a mini version but I’m still tempted by this kit’s price! Quite a bargain to be had here!

Let’s see…off the topic of my head….It’s about $28 bucks for the cargo smokyeye duo and another $32 for brush so that’s $60 bucks for just two items and this kit has them PLUS a mascara and a cute little tin for $39 bucks! What a steal!

Now not only has the brush been on my items to pick up but I’ve also wanted to try the Smokyeye duo for a while and here in lays the perfect excuse to try both plus get some nice little extras with the purchase!

Overall I’d say this is a great little kit! Nice work Cargo it’s on my wish list!
