Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizer Review

“One winter day, the queen was doing needle work while gazing out her ebony window at the new fallen snow. A bird flew by the window startling the queen and she pricked her finger. A single drop of blood fell on the snow outside her window. As she looked at the blood on the snow she said to herself, “Oh, how I wish that I had a daughter that had skin as white as snow, lips as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony.”-Quote from Snow White

Indeed, skin as white as snow always appeals to this Muse. I’m always looking for the best way to brighten my dull, lackluster skin up. Be it with cleansing oils that promise me whiter, brighter skin or moisturizers or even makeup.

My skin on occasion is so very dull it needs all the help it can get to look brighter and more youthful.

My latest discover for brightening up my skin, Korres Wild Rose 24-Hour Moisturizer.

Take the jump to learn more!

Korres Wild Rose Moisturizer is an intense moisturizer for normal to dry skin. The formula contains whitening wild rose oil to help prevent brown spots caused my sun damage. For me I was ever so hopeful it would aid me with dull skin.

I haven’t been using it long enough to express delights over how it’s brightened my skin but I will give you a few choice details about it and why I’m loving it so far.

The formula is Korres is free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, and many other harmful ingredients this alone could prove a key for those wanting to indulge in a healthy skin care product. I must say that although it’s recommended for normal to dry skin I felt the formula was incredibly rich which leads me to recommend it for dryness but only as a night cream for those with normal skin as it could be a bit too much moisture for such a skin type.

It’s quite a heavy moisturizer but still manages to feel very light and absorbs easily without a greasy, oily feel as many thicker moisturizers are known for. Right now my skin simply hates it because it’s so humid out and I need something very light to keep the oily parts of my face in check. However, come Winter my skin will rejoice at such a hydrating formula. It has a pleasant fresh floral scent but I’m so terribly disappointed it wasn’t scented like rose hehe! I adore rose scented skin care.

Overall, with it’s inexpensive price tag ($32), large size, and natural formula it could prove a winner for many. For me I’ll be loving it all through Winter when my dry flaky skin makes a guest starring appearance. The value of it’s size and it’s hydrating formula make me loves it long time. It does contain an SPF 6 but I didn’t mention that above as it’s not equate sun protection in my opinion but than again you’re talking to the girl who wears SPF 95 or more.

Likey very much!

Good one Korres, as always an impressive skin care item.

What are some of your favs from Korres?

Korres Pomegranate Cleansing & Make Up Removing Wipes Review

Ahh the joys of being a lazy Muse. It happens on occasion don’t you know? I come home late, I’m tired, I’m trying to wind it down from a stressful day and I’m quite lazy enough that I’m not wanting to deal with my 20 step program to remove makeup, it’s a chore being me. When I’m busy being a lazy little bum I head for makeup wipes to clean my face on the fly so I can head straight to my bed and watch 10 Things I Hate About You on my Tivo Playlist. Gawd, that Ethan Peck is all kinds of cuteness.

My latest discovery for wiping off fast are the new Korres Pomegranate Cleansing & Make Up Removing Wipes. Oh joy they smell so pretties and are terribly cheap too, loves it!

Check it after the review.

If you don’t really like makeup remover wipes I highly suggest grabbing a package of Korres Pomegranate Cleansing & Make Up Removing Wipes just for the sake of sniffing them. You can totally get high off this scent. I guess it’s supposed to be the scent of Pomegranate but it falls into more of a fresh, rosy, floral mysterious scent that my nose can’t identify outside of saying, “oh my god so beautiful!” Excuse me Korres can we get a body spray or something in this scent? Soooo good!

On top of awesome smelling they also do a mighty fine job of a quickie clean up on my face. Sadly, they aren’t going to wipe off heavy duty waterproof mascara but they do a decent job of wiping off the rest of the gunk that needs taking off my face at the end of a long night. The cloths are nice and thick and have a smooth, soft texture. They are good for both combination and oily skin types and won’t dry out your skin and supposedly they even tighten up pores. They aren’t terribly saturated but they do have just enough remover on them to get off much of your makeup on those lazy nights when Ethan Peck is waiting for you on your Tivo.

Overall, if you’re looking for an inexpensive ($12 for 25 wipes), great smelling wipe that’s paraben free and created with good for you ingredients Korres Pomegranate Cleansing & Make Up Removing Wipes is the way to go. They aren’t going to do the job of your normal cleansing routine but they are great for quickie makeup removal on the fly.

All the yak from my face eww!

Likey!

As for this Muse she’s off to smell them some more….!

Korres Primer Review Silicon-Free Primer

Korres+Primer+2

When Jebus set out to create primer he though of filling the pores of beautiful girls everywhere, of taming their oily skin, of creating a perfect canvas for makeup. During this creation process the Muse thinks he might have forgotten the rare few of us who don’t really have a problem with oily skin or large pores……those of us who have dry skin, sometimes flaky bits on our face, and feel the need for a moisturizing primer that isn’t silicon in nature.

Although he forgot much of this Korres remembered that we were around and in turn created the exact primer we need.

Jump ahead to hear my review.

Korres Primer makes my day all the brighter with it’s silicon-free formula. If you’re looking for a primer that makes your foundation easier to blend, allows your foundation to apply easier, and offers extra moisture to your face, Korres Primer is the way to go.

Korres+Primer+1

Although debate could arise that a creamy, moisturizing primer is basically the same concept as using a facial moisturizer, not the case. Facial moisturizers on a whole compared to primers are vastly different as they are a bit more greasy, aren’t as dense, and don’t offer that smoother feel that allows foundation to sit on top of skin rather than blend into the skin.

The formula is a moist, dense cream that adds extra moisture to the skin while prepping and priming for foundation. I’m unsure if I’d recommend it for oily skin but dry and normal skin types should rejoice at the prospect of a silicon-free primer. It’s lightly scented with orange which I think is very nice although some may find they don’t like it if they are sensitive to smell, as for me I think it just adds to the appeal of the product. The product absorbs upon contact with skin but still manages to cast an invisible barrier on top of skin so that foundation doesn’t oxidize or absorb away completely into skin. It keeps foundation fairly fresh but I didn’t notice extended wear when using this.

Korres+Primer+4

Korres+Primer+5

Overall, if you’re not a fan of silicon based primers and just seek a simple, effective way to prep and prime your dry skin (or normal) prior to foundation Korres Face Primer is a great choice. I liked it alot and will purchase it again when I’m through. The $28 price tag could be a bit much for some if you are just wanting to test out so it’s nice that Korres has a smaller size for a mere $10 which should get you a few uses prior to indulging in a bigger size if you end up loving it.

Anyone try?

Beauty Babble: Weathering Makeup

beauty+babble

Wanna Beauty Babble with me? During our last babble we were hit with survival beauty and all the essentials we’d need in dire situations.

How To Play:
The Beauty Babble section basically is a scenario of “possibilities” with questions and answers about what you’d do in situations where cosmetics would be needed!

Today’s babble is about various weather conditions and makeup items or skincare you’d need in such situations!

Jump ahead to read my babblings and submit your own if you’re wanting to play!

You head to work on Monday expecting it to be like any other day of the week when your boss pulls you aside with some incredible news. He relates to you that he wants to send you to London for the entire Summer to work at the UK branch. You’re so excited you can’t believe your good luck! As soon as you leave his office you dial up your best friend who lives in England to share the details. Your best friend informs you that it would be a terrible time to come to London right now because the predicted weather for the next three months is gloomy, cloudy weather and rain! You’re kinda feel badly after you hear this especially since you’re having perfect Summer weather right at home. You keep your chin up and decided you’ll need a few makeup essentials to bring Summer with you to cold, dreary London. What will they be (choose five)?

I’d choose a fun Summer scent, a great bronzer, a pretty shade of blush, a shimmery, Summery palette for my eyes, and a good primer to keep my makeup from falling off my face in the rain!

My picks:

Fragrance: Harajuku Lovers G
Warm, coconut will help me think Summer during those rainy days!

Bronzer:
Urban Decay Baked Bronze in Glided
As if you haven’t heard enough how much I love this bronzer! Shimmery cheeks with hint of gold and peach will bring a little sun to my cloudy day in London!

Blush:
MAC Eversun Blush
My ideal blush this Summer and plenty peachy to bring a little color into my world on dreary days!

Eyeshadow Palette:
Kate Von D Gypsy Eyeshadow Palette
A slew of Summery greens to spring up my look in the rain!

Primer:
Korres Face Primer
Love this stuff! Keeps my makeup so fresh! Hopefully it’ll help keep it waterproof too!

Your best friend asks you to dinner on Friday night and explains she has amazing news to tell you! You meet up with her and as you’re ordering dinner she springs on you she’s getting married to an Arabian Sheikh. With your mouth hanging open you gasp in shock! After getting over your shock you gush how excited you are for her. After the waiter leaves with your order you proceed to ask her for all the details. She explains that the wedding will take place in the Sahara Desert. Trying not to gasp in shock you begin plotting skincare items you’re going to need to keep your face properly moist. Pick three items to keep your skin in order!

My picks:

Lush Ocean Salt
Most people don’t use Ocean Salt on their face because they feel it’s too harsh but I happen to love it! It’s ideal for those crazy desert days when my skin begins to flake up!

Mandom Perfect Assist 24 Double Moist Cream
This will keep my skin moist and dewy while the sun is beating down on my head!

Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sun Block
Gotta have high SPF for those sunny days in the desert! 85+ on this one! w00t!

Ok! Now it’s your turn. The desert and dreary, cold rain for three months! Babble it peeps and tell me what you’d need to survive these nasty weather conditions.

Korres Face Primer

Oh my eyes spy a brand new primer from Korres!

korres+primer

Since I’m such a Korres fan girl I’m all over the new Korres Face Primer. My ears perked when I heard “silicone-free”, oh I love you my little silicon free primer. Creates flawless skin sans silicone indeed I’m liking this more and more.

I hate silicon based primers with a passion as they make me itchy and they pill on my face. This formula is silicon-free and is a 99% natural formula that refines skin texture while minimizing fine lines, wrinkles, and pores.

I wants it!

Korres Ginger & Vitamins Foundation Review

I sweat Korres so hard. Oh we already established that didn’t we?

But seriously I’m just loving so hard on Korres lately and can’t help myself. I’m so excited for Summer as I’m looking forward to what they might be releasing!

Picture+175 400x300

In the mean time let’s talk shop about how wonderful Korres Ginger & Vitamins Foundation is.

Korres+Ginger+%26+Vitamins+Foundation+2

Korres+Ginger+%26+Vitamins+Foundation+4

Jump ahead for the big rave.

Korres Ginger & Vitamins Foundation is formulated without parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, synthetic dyes, and phthalate. Loving the natural formula aren’t you? The formula is packed full of vitamins C and E, SPF 10, and ginger extract to tone and moisturize!

Korres+Ginger+%26+Vitamins+Foundation+5

Korres+Ginger+%26+Vitamins+Foundation+7

Korres+Ginger+%26+Vitamins+Foundation+8

I wouldn’t call Korres Ginger & Vitamins Foundation a true “foundation” as it’s a very light, sheer coverage and for this I’d say it was more like a tinted moisturizer but that doesn’t stop me from simply loving it. As the weather warms I’ll appreciate the light formula that evens out my skin tone, gives my face a soft, radiant glow, and gives just the right amount of coverage to my face to make it look flawless and healthy.

The formula is water based which makes it fast absorbing, non greasy, and easy to blend. Korres Ginger & Vitamins Foundation packs all the good stuff inside and leaves out many ingredients that could be irritating to skin which is why I highly recommend trying this out if you’re sensitive or easy to break out. The formula is light weight but allows for decent buildable coverage that leaves behind a very natural, flawless look.

I’m partial to the interesting “toothpaste” style packaging design as a tiny squeeze gets me exactly what I need to do my entire fast while making it easy to travel with, easy to store, and easy to get that very last drop of product out of the tube when you’re through.

If you’re seeking lighter coverage due to warmer weather, problem skin (clogged pores, acne, sensitive skin, etc…) or just like feel the need for a more natural, lighter foundation I highly suggest checking out Korres Ginger & Vitamins Foundation. This one is a winner and Muse Approved for purchase.

mmuseapproved2

Overall, I loved how my skin was left looking after use! Un-made up, natural, and just pretty and most important, healthy minus dull spots.

Loves this one!

Check it out at Sephora or Korres.
