So which Summer Collections are you loving at the moment chicas?
Spill it and click below to hear what I am lovin’ at the moment!
My current favs are Clarins Instant Light Collection, so gorg! And also, little late to the ballgame, Guerlain Terracotta Collection. Guerlain Terracotta has a whole lot of bronzing going on and normally I’d probably avoid that much tanning goodness but I fell in love with the Guerlain Terracotta Blush and Sun and haven’t looked back since. I’m working my way through buying a majority of this collection as truly it’s gorgeous!
Although it’s not out as of yet I’m really also looking forward to MAC Colour Forums, particularly all those MSF, NEED, WANT, GIVE THEM TO ME!

Ahhh eye shadow. Bless be the woman who created eye shadow! The Muse has plenty of shades she loves.
Find out 10 she possibly couldn’t live without by clicking below!
Urban Decay Eye Shadow in Maui Wowie and Midnight Cowboy, these are golden, they shimmer, they contain heaps and heaps of sparkle, and I love ‘em. Can’t do without, no way, no how.
MAC LoveStone long since gone but big enough to last me into my next life! Swirling shades of beautiful maroon, red, hints of shimmering orange and gold…you get the point? Love!
I’ve done an ode to
MAC FireSpot prior to this but it’s worth speaking of my great love again. Bright pigmented fiery orange, indeed it’s love!
Milani Runway Eyes in Beach Sand is full of shimmery gold, I see a trend developing. Best shadow that Milani carries, hands down. It’s Summer right? So sportin’ this all through those long, hot days!
ALL of the
Bobbi Brown Sparkle Eye Shadows are to die for but the soft pink allure and shimmer of Ballet holds the Muse’s heart.
I remember my rave about
Napoleon Eye Patrol in Private Angel when my blog was still new, not alot has changed in regards to my feelings for this shadow. Again, another shimmering shade of gold and oh so pretty!
I’ve been known to get excited about Vincent Longo Wet Diamond Eye Shadow. Verite is my fav shade from the collection, believe me I have ‘em all! Deepest army green around with plenty of sparkle.
B Never Too Busy To Be Beautiful in Burke is always my fav eye shadow wash. Shimmering white makes the perfect prep for my bolder shadow shades!
Mattese N.Y.C. Shadow Dust in Queen is not only cheap as day old chips but gorgeous. The deepest shade of turquoise this Muse has ever had the pleasure of owning!
Those are my 10 Eye Shadows I can’t leave without! What are some of yours?
Tell ‘em!
Here’s a quickie sneaky peek at MAC Style Warriors which officially releases May 28th. It’s pretty much widely available everywhere at the moment since it was available for pre-order and MAC had parties and such going on for it’s launch! MAC Pro had it weeks in advance too although I didn’t hope over for a gander, shame on the Muse.
The Muse is hauling more of what was released shortly but this is what she has so far to show you. Just a bit of makeup porn to tide you over until I do my full review!
One thing I love about MAC Style Warriors is that beautiful bronze look but the touches of popping color scattered throughout that break up all that tanned skin. Quite nice!
Two shadows from the collection, Vibrant Grape and Bright Future, are definately just the pop I’m talking about. Bright Future is a loud, buttery yellow and Vibrant Grape is a stunning purple.
Heavy on the bronze cheeks chicas! MAC Style Warriors Bronzing Powder in Solar Riche is a deep, dark bronze shade sure to give a crispy look to skin! As for the Muse she tames it with a little cheek stain thrown under it or sometimes on top so it looks like an interesting bronze, flushed look!
Plenty more bronze where that came from with MAC Blush in Eversun. This one is a little orange, a little brown, and plenty of bronze all mixed in tight. Again, I find it’s best and most flattering for my medium fair skin when I use a touch of cheek stain under suck a bronze color.
For the lips a Brave New Bronze lipstick looks slightly boring but built up it’s a flattering nude peach lip shade.
Not everyone can rightfully pull of purple but Purple Rite may be making a special appearance on your MAC Style Warriors wish list!
Loving MAC Lipglass in Gold Rebel! Such a gorgeous sparkling peachy gold creation. Not so sure about Style Warrior though…whoa…it’s nearly black! Eep!
Now for my favorite part, MAC Lustre Drops! Three colors are available and so far I have one, Bronze Hero. Love, love this product. Great for multitasking as cheek color or mixing with shadow and pigments. Really an interesting product and looking forward to hauling the other two shades!
That’s all for now folks! More hauling ahead from MAC Style Warriors so this one is to be continued! What I have tried from the collection I am loving. Quite a few items in the collection are keepers. I’m looking forward to doing some looks with the items I do have and heading to MAC to haul the rest of the collection.
What do you think so far?
Have you hauled Style Warriors yet?

As June quickly approaches so does the release of MAC Naked Honey, an exciting new, buzz worthy (get it? buzz! I’m such a damn comedian aren’t I?) collection. I’m always quite the little fan girl for MAC Summer Collections and so far I am loving
all I have seen from both MAC Naked Honey and MAC Style Warriors.
I’ll be giving you a very brief sneaky peek from MAC Naked Honey after the jump!
With plenty of golds and bronze on the menu MAC Naked Honey is most definitely Summer-worthy cosmetic goodness. It is a small amount of color in this collection thought and most of the release concentrating on plenty of interesting body care items such as shower gels, lotions, potions, etc….
I did a quickie look yesterday using three items from the MAC Naked Honey launch that I got to test out. So far I like what I see. I tried out MAC High-light Powder in Golden Nectar, MAC Lipglass in Buzz, and MAC Eye Shadow in Creme de Miel.
Two MAC High-Light Powders are being released, Golden Nectar being the darker shade of the two. Regardless if it’s dark or not it was flattering on me. You can easily double this up as a contouring tool if you desire and even a bronzer if you want. It’s a deep, bronze shade with a hint of golden shimmer. Sadly thought the golden shimmer is only an over spray and for the most part the powder did apply matte to my cheeks. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing as I did like the way it looked on. I used it as a blush/bronzer combo on my cheeks in the below picture.
Three MAC Lipglasses shades will release with MAC Naked Honey one of which I tried was Buzz. Another fine Summer shade as it’s a dark copper that hints at being almost brown, very nice when paired up with Golden Nectar.
And finally I tried out MAC Eyeshadow in Creme De Miel which is a velvety gold shade. This applies a tad chalky but for the most part it blends out nicely and can be paired with fabulous coppery, bronze looks. Below I used it on it’s own on my lids.
Overall, I like what I’ve seen so far from MAC Naked Honey and I look forward to testing out the rest to see what I’ll haul from this collection.
What do you think so far of MAC Naked Honey?
Wanting Naked Honey?
Maybe you’re lemming Style Warriors more?
Tell the Muse!
The Muse is having a dilemma.
She’s trying to figure out if she loves MAC Naked Honey Salve or if maybe she thinks it’s pointless? Releasing with MAC Naked Honey Collection on June 11th this cute little tin houses a rich honey scented and flavored salve that offers a moisturizing treatment to skin.
Check out what I think after the jump!
Hmmm like I said I’m trying to decide if I like this or not. First off it says it’s multi-purpose and can be used anywhere so the first thing that entered my head was, “whoa can I use it on my dry face? how about my lips?” At this point I’m still trying to decide if it’s a good idea to slather my face in a salve. Granted, I bet you my dry skin would love it but I’m not sure when they said “multi-purpose” they were talking about my face.
On one hand I absolutely adore the concept, the uber cute packaging, and just the entire idea of the product. I can’t deny how pleased I was with last year’s release of
MAC Volcanic Ash (remember that incredible product?). I was thinking to myself how can MAC beat something as great as Volcanic Ash and maybe just maybe MAC Honey Skin Salve was exactly the product that would take away the crown. But…not really?
It seems like something that might develop a cult following. Where people petition for it’s re-release and plead with MAC to “bring it back! bring it back!”. But on the other hand I’m not really feeling that excited about it after trying it.
Ok, so…texture and formula wise it’s very nice. It’s emollient and obviously moisturizing. You could probably get away using it on rough elbows, knees, cuticles, feet, heels, etc…..I’m not sure if I’m on board with the idea of rubbing it on my face quite yet but we’ll see how it progresses. I went a little crazy and attempted a bit on my lips and it feels nice but it tastes a bit floral. Speaking of floral it also smells kinda floral too….hmmmm what happened to the honey?
I really love salves. There is something so healing about them. They are incredibly versatile, multitasking, and just generally good items to have in your beauty arsenal. But I dunno…MAC Naked Honey Skin Salver isn’t doing it for me.
I’m going to keep trying with this one and see if I can grow to love it. For now I think I’m leaning towards being meh about it. It’s nice, great concept as a mentioned already, super cute packaging, but something is missing. Could be the yucky taste or the fact that it smells a tad more floral than honey like or maybe the Muse is all salve’d out but this one fails to capture my fancy!
Anyone try yet?
On your MAC Naked Honey wish list?
Tell the Muse!
The Muse’s list of wants is every growing! She can think of a few items she’s gagging to add to her stash.
Check it below!
With it’s smudge free, waterproof formula this Muse can get excited about Make Up For Ever Aqua Black Waterproof Cream Eye Shadow. Plus doesn’t it look like the blackest, black liner you ever did see?
I can’t stress the overwhelming feeling of want when it comes to
Dior Addict Lip Glow. Just a touch of customized lip color? Yes, please.
Sephora Cooling Cover Stick conceals plus preps and primes lids for shadows for $12 bucks. Not a bad deal! The Muse wants to take it for a spin as she does with almost all concealers she meets up with!
I feel the love for Guerlain Summer 2009, need I say much more?
Splish, Splash! I want Philosophy Apricots and Cream in my shower this Summer!
One tends to forget about MAC Creation Hues but not when they smell like roses! The Muse sniffed this overlooked fragrance for the first time this weekend and fell in lust! Wants it!
Tried one, now I need them all!
Bobbi Brown Sheer Gloss=love.
These are a few of my Most Wanted Beauty items of the moment. Share a few of yours in the comment box!
The Muse is blessed with so many incredible friends in her life but she does so wish she had more that were into makeup that way she could debate MAC Makeup Remover Wipes.
The Muse freaking loves the topic of these wipes. She adores people that go on and on about how wonderful they are, mind you the Muse thinks they are pretty special too but….
It irritates the holy hell out of me that people say these bloody things take it ALL off. But…but…but how? I love them with a passion. They don’t dry my skin out, smell amazing, make my skin feel moisturized, and remove my makeup….
HOWEVER….
They do a crap job on waterproof mascara. So technically speaking they do not get it all off yet many a fan will insist they remove EVERYTHING.
Why jebus why!
I’ve honestly never had any success getting off waterproof mascara with these. I even seen one very popular youTuber say they took of MAC Liquidlast….she must be using a different wipe than I am or she’s on crack…no freaking way are these doing that unless I scrub my eye with it like it’s a brillo pad.
Damn.
That’s my two dollar rant of the day.
Love ‘em, just wish they’d do a better job with waterproof mascara and wish everyone who says they take off everything wouldn’t say that.
But you can say whatever you like in my comment box.
Spill it!
What do you think of these wipes?
It’s ok the Muse will still love you long time if you say they take off waterproof mascara…although it might be a tiny bit harder to do so after you admit that but love you she will.
Concealer. You want it to last. You want it to cover your flaws. You want it to wear in the rain, the snow, the humidity, and during that crazy underground rave you’re going to on Saturday night (wanna come with? What? I’ve haven’t realized I’m over 30 yet!).
You want your concealer to perform miracles all while smiling and telling you how pretty you look. It’s not too much to ask for a miracle is it?
MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer does that. Well, maybe not the pretty part.
MAC Studio Sculpt Concealer is one of those icky, yucky, sticky, difficult as a biatch to blend formulas that we all run across in a very rare blue moon and end up hating. But it’s this exact formula that gets you through the snow, the rain, the sleet, the heat, and the rave and maybe army training too!
Housed in a paint pot style jar this concealer falls into the industrial concealer range. It’s pigmented enough to cover up virtually all problems and has a formula that’s wears well in extreme conditions. The texture is a tad sticky and it’s difficult as all hell to blend but once it’s in place it pretty much lasts a good solid 10 hours without touch ups in between. I love it.
For the most part it doesn’t fade, it doesn’t crease, it doesn’t cake under older, drier eyes (like mine) and it pretty much stays exactly where you put it. I think part of it’s appeal is the strange formula. I do admit that it’s not as pigmented as some concealers I’ve tried but it’s pigmented enough to hide dark circles with a heavy layer, fine lines, and puffy eyes. It just works and I think that’s what makes it such a fond favorite. It also deserves to be mentioned it’s one of the few concealers I can pat and have it look natural. Most concealers I need to rub in but this pats into place very well and looks beautifully flawless.
I really like this concealer. Mind you it’s not my HG in any form but it’s greatness cannot be overlooked nor it’s wonderful price tag.
Loves it. Approves it for purchase. Try it, it could become your HG concealer of choice.
How about you?

According to every single review I’ve read, I’m supposed to love MAC Fix+Rose…but I kinda don’t and I’m feeling all guilty and bad about it. I really wanted to love this….why can’t I?
Jump ahead for the whining!
Ok, so it deserves to be mentioned the Muse never tried MAC Fix+ prior to this however when she heard rose her ears perked up. She really loves anything rose in her skincare, how very Victorian! So she was all impressed that MAC Fix+ was adding a little rose into the mix of things to create their new limited edition Fix Spray.
As per the bottle’s instructions I should be using this in one of two ways. As a toner…spray a bit on my face, moisturize, and rumble down with my makeup application or as a spray fix to keep my makeup in place. The Muse isn’t a stranger to good toner and I actually probably couldn’t live without toner. My skin is dry so toner definitely aids my moisturizer to sink in and absorb fully. The idea of using this after my makeup did scare me. Imagine having a full face of makeup on, concealer, powder, the works and spraying yourself with a toner, does that sound scary or is it me? But I was determined to make this work because the idea of this “fixing” my makeup in place all day was too appealing to pass up and I was thinking hey if it doesn’t fix it at least I’ll have a killer toner.
Yea well not so much came out of it as a toner or as a fix.
First of all I don’t like it at all as a fixing agent. After applying a full on makeup and spraying my face down with this, I end up with a bit of a strange, washed out look. It’s as if I was caught in the rain and some of my makeup wore off. I’m just not feeling makeup perfect after use if that makes sense. In it’s defense I will say I’ve only used it once as a makeup fix (and a few times after as a toner). I plan on testing further but I’ve just been a tad bit wary to do it. I loved the smell, obviously roses however it caused a strange tightening on my face which I didn’t love. I assume the slight tightening was the effect of the “fix”. As an example it always feels like I’m wearing a very light peeling mask. You know that feeling of the mask being in place and it tightens a tad bit? That’s how this feels. There was also a slight tingle, sting, burning sensation but that seemed to have disappeared since using it my 3rd or so time as simply a toner. As far as keeping my makeup in place all day…nope. Def not. If anything it washed half my makeup away with the first spray!
As a toner again I didn’t like it but will say it did an interesting job of removing the flaky skin around my eye area and cheeks. My skin is going through that period where it gets used to the warm weather and is shaking off the cold Winter so I get a bit of flaking here and there which isn’t always cleared up with exfoliation. This seems to aid my moisturizer in keeping my skin flake-free I think. But again I don’t like the tight feeling it gives my skin. I also failed to mention that, oh my god, this burns terribly if you get it in your eye and come on obviously you will since you’re squirting it on your face, it’ll STING! OW!
So at the moment I’m somewhat in limbo if I like this stuff or if it’s just another useless item. I’m still testing happily away but from what I tried so far it fails to impress. Thankfully I didn’t buy a case of this as I was so enamored by the rose! I will say it’s unquestionably a good deal, as all MAC products are, since it’s such a large bottle with a tiny price tag. I just wish it would work now…..
What are your thoughts on MAC Fix+Rose?
Or just on MAC Fix+?
Do share it!
Loves it?
Same experience as the Muse with it?
Hey, hey!
I’m just in from bumming around the mall with my mate Kira. We went to MAC to pick up some MAC Fix+Rose which we were both gagging for. Turns out one bottle was plenty, the Muse was thinking she’d need a case. Anyway I’ll tell you all about it tomorrow or next week for now I’ll spread a little cheer with some MAC A Rose Romance and MAC SugarSweet!
Jump ahead for it.
I’ve been so blooming busy that I didn’t have time to hop to MAC to pick up the other items I was wanting from the MAC A Rose Romance and MAC SugarSweet Collections.
My first round up from SugarSweet didn’t include two items I really wanted which was MAC SugarShot Eyeshadow and MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Perfect Topping. I ended up dropping Perfect Topping after seeing how chalky it was. Presented with it at my local CCO in the future I can see myself purchasing but for now I was being ever so frugal and just skipped it as it wasn’t as pretty as Refined was. I did finally end up getting Sugarshot though. This was something I really wanted and wasn’t available during my first purchasing spree. But finally snagged it! Yay! It’s a good one and I rec getting one as it makes a rather nice all over color wash or a highbrow highlighter. It’s a creamy white golden shimmer that’s very pretty.
MAC A Rose Romance I pretty much hauled all there was too haul aside from the fix I so badly wanted and the Blush of Youth Beauty Powder. Blush of Youth isn’t as nearly pigmented as
Summer Rose but it is pretty none the less. With a bit of layering it might work well on it’s own as a natural blush or best over some blush to amp it up a bit. As with Summer Rose I think it works best by using it over the new
Just a Pinch Gel Blush. I think both of these Beauty Powders were some of the best I’ve seen from MAC in all my collecting days. Def grab them as they are well worth the cash.
Aside from this my haul was very tiny as I am looking forward to Style Warriors as everyone else is too I’m sure.
Feel free to spill what you hauled lately from MAC!
