I think we’ve established that we all want cheap right now. Who doesn’t love a good deal even when the economy is good.
Check out a little of This and That from Mark Cosmetics to get your beauty on for alot less!
You could go with this:
I adore Laura Mercier Tinted Moisturizer. Creamy, nicely tinted, an SPF 20 keeps me clamoring back for more please but it does have a $42 USD price tag eep!
If you’re not wanting to shell out that much cash why not go with that:
mark Tinted Moisturizer
is $8 USD contains 1.6oz of product (that’s an oz more than Laura’s) and has an SPF of 15. You’re forgoing a little of the SPF but the size and price sure is right.
Bobbi and the Muse? BBF forevers! The Muse is loving Bobbi Brown Sheer Color Cheek but even I admit it’s tiny for $22 USD. You could go with this:
It’s ok if you’re not wanting to fork over that $22 bucks. You can snag a mark Just Pinched Cheek Tint for $6 which is slightly bigger and is virtually the same product as Bobbi’s version. Go with that:
A little of this, a little of that makes for a happy beauty junkie! Hope these options save you a little money!
If you’re looking for cheap, who isn’t nowadays? Check out the new mark Summer Collection for 2009 entitled Exotics.
Introducing new mark Lip Exotics Lip Lacquer Hook Up for $6 each available in five shades. These are a conditioning, high shine close with a cool spearmint flavor and a pigmented color payoff!
Kinda looks like MAC lip lacquers but way cheaper. I can get on board with these for sure. They were the first thing that caught my eye from this collection and possibly the best item available.
Also releasing are two mark Good Glowing Mosaic Blush Custom Color blushes in two new shades. These are $7 each and do not come with a palette, they are part of the custom color system so you’d have to buy a palette separate to stick them in. Although pretty they hold little appeal for me.
And finally mark Eye Exotics Eye Shadow Trio which contains three shades of shadow for wearing alone or combined. Again, not so thrilling and kinda reminds me of the Avon Marimekko palette I reviewed a few months ago, which was much nicer by the very way. I could get excited about this if they had more than one shade selection available, all that blue does little to excite me.
Not much of excitement here although the blush and the lip lacquers hold my interest (particularly the lippies). If you’re looking for a few budget friendly makeup options of Summer you may want to take a peep.
It’s all available now at the mark website.

The Muse happens to be a big fan of mark Glossblossom and has reviewed it in the past with a fond rave. Recently mark introduced a brand new version of Glossblossom which adds a hint of sparkle to the mix of things!
Read ahead to find out if I loved it!
The Muse likes to think that mark is responsible for the whole “color changing gloss” epidemic that’s now embraced by Smashbox, Too Faced, Tricia Sawyer, and many other companies!
I do believe that mark Glossblossom was one of the first color changing glosses on the market prior to Smashbox O-Gloss and the likes. The basic concept of GlossBlossom is the same as many brands you’ve since run across in that the gloss interacts with your body’s chemistry or temperature to change lips into the perfect shade of berry pink.
One main difference between mark Shimmer Glossblossom Ripening Lip Tint and other name brands would be the difference in pigmentation. Glossblossom is a much more natural nude shade of pink than what you’d get with other color changing glosses. It’s very natural, very sheer, and very pretty in my opinion. Some people have complained about how terribly pink their lips come out when using say Smashbox O-Gloss and you really have no need to worry with Glossblossom as the color stains lips very, very subtly pink.
The new version of Glossblossom contains a healthy dose of golden sparkle. I guess the questions is if you already have the regular version of mark Glossblossom do you need this new one? No, you do not need to buy this new version if you already have the older version simply because the gold sparkle is virtually invisible to the eye unless you’re really staring hard.
The formula remains the same which is great as I really like it although some may consider it a bit too watery. It’s not long wearing due to the fact that the texture is so watery however this is also a plus as it’s not sticky or tacky on the lips but rather natural feeling with a high gloss shine. However, on that same note you’ll be disappointed by the fact that it doesn’t wear as long as a tackier, stickier gloss might but I don’t mind in the least. It creates a subtle pink pout with a high shine and a hint of fruity flavor makes it all that and a bag of chips plus the price tag can’t be beat at a retail of $6 USD (cheaper on E-bay of around $2.99-$3.99).
If you’ve never tried mark Glossblossom before I highly suggest nabbing one as the price tag is right and it’s nice for a quickie touch up of both color and shine.
This Muse loves it even though it has a flaw or two….don’t be sucked in by the “shimmer” thought as it fails terribly at creating any sort of sparkle on the lips.

The Muse sure is working hard at finding good budget beauty finds. I’m trying guys, I’m really trying. Many of you have e-mailed me asking please can I do more budget beauty finds and I’ve been seriously doing my homework and searching out cheaper options that work well for the price but it’s hard work and about 95% of the time I end up disappointed.
One such case of disappointment recently was my test of mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom. This one really sounded like a nice find plus the price sure was sweet but sadly it’s a no go.
Read ahead to find out what I thought!
mark is Avon’s younger sister company that has a wide variety of items available for a younger crowd of makeup junkies. Almost everything I’ve every purchased from mark has been a winner as the quality is great, the price is wonderful, and quality is most definitely there.
Recently, when I noticed the release of mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom I decided to give it a go since I’m quite a big fan of mark Glossblossom I automatically assumed that mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom would be a rave. Sadly, it turned out to be a waste of $6.
mark Shimmer Cheek Blossom mimics Smashbox O-Glow offering a tinted gel blush that reacts with your skin’s chemistry to give your face a natural pink flush. On the plus side of the pink flush you’ll also get a hint of golden shimmer, take that Smashbox O-Glow! Pink cheeks and gold shimmer! w00t! Yes, well the gold shimmer effect may be there but the pink cheeks not so much.
The texture of the product feels pretty much like Smashbox O-Glow with that slightly silicon feel but a good deal more gel-like and quite greasy so don’t try applying this over foundation as it’ll smear terribly. I tried out a dab at first with no results so of course I proceeded to apply a good dime size amount on my cheeks to see if that would help, again nothing. Aside from a faint gold shimmer the product fails at offering a pink flush, in short it does absolutely nothing.
The idea is fabulous combining a pink stain with faint golden shimmer but sadly it fails to work at all and does absolutely nothing aside from leaving behind a greasy feeling and a tiny bit of gold sparkle.
At $6 USD it’s not like I broke the bank with the purchase but I can’t help but feel what a waste it was. Truly a budget beauty find gone terribly wrong.
Skip this one, not worth your cash!
No stash, but definitely a trash.
