Prescriptives
By the Muse on November 3, 2008
I feel so bad because this morning I was rushing around and only got the chance to do a quickie look using the new Prescriptives Winter Reflections Cool Eye Color Quad! It’s such a gorgeous quad it deserved more of my attention but the Muse doesn’t do Monday mornings too well so I only have a quickie look I did using it!
The good news is you’ll get a review, swatches, and pictures today and tomorrow I promise I’ll do a better look using the quad! Forgive me?
The Prescriptives Winter Reflections Cool Eye Color Quad is one of two quads released with the Prescriptives Aglow Holiday Collection. This quad contains all cool shades and the other quad is more of a warmer quad. I choose the cool quad because I think the shades are much more flattering for the Winter! The quad most definitely brings together the cool, frostiness you probably associate with the Holiday.
I love the fact that three of the shades included in the cool palette are actually limited edition. Many palettes released always have rerun shades that are already out and available, it’s pretty nice that Prescriptives took the initiative to make the palette extra special with new, limited edition colors. The shades in the cool palette are:
- Oyster (Pink)
- Twinkle (Blackish Cranberry)
- Eclipse (Bluish Gray)
- Shell (Cream)
As I mentioned my look was super quick this morning so I used Oyster as an all over color wash and lined my eyes using Twinkle. To get the most of the palette you can use it in any number of ways one of which would be using Oyster as an all over color wash, highlighting using Shell, applying Eclipse in the V of the eye, and finishing the look by using Twinkle as a liner. All the shades in the palette are nicely pigmented and have a frosty finish aside from Twinkle and Eclipse which are quite matte with a tiny bit of shimmer.
The Prescriptives Winter Reflections Cool Eye Color Quad creates a rather beautiful, sophisticated look for the Holidays that can easily be turned into a fun look by applying a bit of shimmer to your face!
Even though I didn’t take full advantage of the palette this morning I must say that I still liked the look I created! Twinkle smokes out my eyes beautifully well and contrasts quite nicely with Oyster or any other pink shade of shadow in your collection. In the photos below I’m also using the Prescriptives Winter Reflections All Over Highlighter Pearls.
I fell in love with Prescriptives Quads this Fall when I tried the Fall Dimensions palette and I must say I’m just as in love with this quad so I’m Muse Approving it for purchase as I think I’ll be reaching for this one again and again and again this coming Winter and Holiday Season!
You can nab yours Nordstroms or your local Prescriptives counter! Keep your eyes peeled for the release on the Prescriptives website as well where you can get Free Shipping!
The Muse loves it!

Holiday Collection 2008: Prescriptives AGLOW
By the Muse on November 3, 2008
One of the first item that captured and caught my attention from Prescriptives AGLOW was of course the Prescriptives Winter Reflections All-Over-Highlighter Pearls. Although you might be quick to compare them to Guerlain Meteorites, the Muse feels the products are comparable in style but that’s about it. Aside from the fact that they are both pearls I think they happen to be very, very different!
The Prescriptives Winter Reflections All-Over-Highlighter Pearls consist of a dominant shade of rose and follow up closing by peach and white. I felt like the pearls worked almost as a blush as they deepened the shade of my own blush and cast a faint luminance to my cheeks and face. The pearls have enough pigmentation to work completely by themselves on bare skin if you’d like a natural pink glow to your face which is the main difference between these and Meteorites. Meteorites are not nearly pigmented enough to multitask as a blush and a highlighter which is why the Prescriptives ones are quite lovely!
The finished result is a nicely highlighted face with a bit of a cool glow. These should appeal to anyone who wants a a bit of highlight but not shimmer overload. Taking into consideration that many highlighting powders and pearls overdose on shimmer these should be a nice change from that as they just cast a glow minus shimmer, glitter, and sparkle.

The price of the pearls is $35 USD which isn’t bad at all considering that these will last you simply ages! I liked these alot and recommend getting to your nearest counter to swatch and play around with them for yourself. I imagine you’ll fall in love with them as much as I did.
The Muse Approves these for purchase to give a bit of a Holiday glow to cheeks and face! Loves it!

I’ve taken a look at the Prescriptives AGLOW champaign and I must say I’m duly impressed and eager to see it on counters!
Prescriptives Holiday Collection AGLOW will be available on counters and on the Prescriptives website in November, I’m happy see that Prescriptives is taking things slow and giving us room to enjoy the beautiful Fall season, I wish more companies would consider the same!
I like the looks of virtually everything that’s available from this collection but I’m seriously lemming the Prescriptives Winter Reflections All-Over-Highlighter which is limited edition compact of soft, shimmering pearls to highlighting the face with shades of white, beige, and pink! You can use these on face or body which makes them a great multitasking product!
Prescriptives is also releasing two limited edition eye shadow quads in a Warm and Cool version. The Prescriptives Winter Reflections Eye Color Quad comes housed in a platinum mirror compact and contain four coordinating shimmering shades of color! I have my eye on the cool version but the warm version looks equally as nice!

All in all I really like the looks of this collection and hopefully will nab some to review for you soon! I’m highly interesting in checking out the shimmering pearls for sure!
