Sephora Catalog Summer 2008: Sephora Fantasea

The Sephora Catalog Summer 2009 should be wingin’ it’s way to your mail box soon, if it hasn’t already. It’s considerably smaller than years past but quite nice none the less.

I’m not particularly excited about the items in the catalog but I do so admit I’m thrilled with the theme which is entitled Fantasea. I’m partial to mermaids and the mysteries the ocean holds so this is right up my alley. With plenty of aquatic eye looks and really great model images I was simply enthralled with the catalog although as I mentioned there was nothing makeup wise that caught my attention in a major way.

Without further babble from me check out some of the pictures I snapped of the catalog!

Well done Sephora, the Muse loves it! With the economy slowly, very slowly on the up rise Sephora managed to create quite a nice little catalog for Summer ’09. I do so look forward to seeing the updates on the website soonish plus any videos or tutorials they might be generous enough to share with us, as the Muse always wanted to be a mermaid when she grew up!

Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer: Conceals Ink or Not?

The Muse has reviewed Kat Von D Tattoo Concealer and although she liked it she wasn’t so sure about it hiding ink. I’m not denying this concealer is hells all pigmented but if I had any ink I’m doubtful it would do anything to conceal it.

However, Sephora put it up to the ultimate test and concealed Kat’s OWN tattoos using the concealer.

Jump ahead for a peep!

Ok, so interesting results here. Check it:

That’s pretty incredible but a little, tiny bit hard to believe it was just the concealer they used plus whoa how much did they have to use? And what’s that strange reddish mark? She doesn’t have that in the picture where her tats are in place but after they use the concealer she looks bruised? It doesn’t look like it’s ink that was being concealed either because in her before photo she doesn’t have tats in that general area? And her neck is all red? I’m such a nit picker aren’t I? Just curious what happened.

I dunno!

Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Removing Pads

sephora+waterproof+mascara

Brand new Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Removing Pads look interesting!

I’m a fan of Sephora Waterproof Eye Makeup Remover anyway so count me on board for these. It’s $8 for 30 pads which isn’t too bad a price. I know, I know Almay does something similar but these look nicely quilted plus the Almay ones are an oily, gross, eye clouding experience that the Muse is not fond of in the least!

I’m def going to pick some up. I have a holiday upcoming so I think these will make a perfect little item to travel with. It’s two weeks worth so I do think I get by longer with a bottle of the Sephora remover but I’m unsure…must see which is the better deal.

Either way, likey! Wants it!

Sephora Calypso Soul Eyeshadow Palette

You know as well as I, that the Muse can b*tch herself blue about Sephora makeup being mediocre at best. But you have to give them credit where credit is due. For example take a peep at their latest palette:

Sephora+Calypso+Soul+Eyeshadow+Palette

Likey.

With the recent release of the Sephora Moroccan Sunrise Palette I do so admit to being quite excited. I didn’t indulge simply because many of the colors were in my beauty library already but I’m girl enough to admit that the palette was rather good looking to say the very least.

Embracing the same concept Sephora has now introduced a second palette along the same lines entitled Calypso Soul. Now the palette is of course part of the normal drum up to introduce new makeup bags, brushes, etc….but it’s also quite obviously the star of the collection. Made of heavy metal with a pretty design and beautiful hues of the ocean this palette undoubtedly tempts. I can hear the siren’s call of, “buy me Muse, buy me….” so much so that now I’m considering getting the Moroccan Sunrise one too!

For shame Sephora you’re evil for making me give into your lure.

Likey!

Good job Sephora.

Keep ‘em coming like this and you might shut me up in the future about how bad your makeup line is.
