The Body Shop
Prior to taking over the world I first want to accomplish one major thing in regards to my almost perfect skin. I want to remove the icky, gross blackheads embedded in my nose without having to head to my dermatologist. I also wish to do this with a mask treatment that won’t remove pieces of skin along with my blackheads.
Biore Nose Strips are an absolute dream come true but I have one or two pesky blackheads on the tip of my nose that hang out there and no manner of plucking will get those buggers out.
My goal was to get them off with something that was inexpensive and easy to find. In steps The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blackhead Minimizing Mask.

Believe me when I say I’ve used just about every Asian mask treatment around in hopes it would remove my blackheads without success. Particular attention has been paid to charcoal masks which remove skin but not blackheads….as in they rip the skin right off your nose, umm ouch!
Curiosity led me to The Body Shop Tea Tree Oil Blackhead Minimizing Mask which is readily available, doesn’t have to be hunted down from abroad, and is fairly cheap. The mask can be used all over your face or on your nose where pesky little blackheads have been known to play and hide.
The mask is green in color and applies smoothly as it’s a moisturizing cream at first. After dry down it becomes slightly harder and peels gently off hopefully whisking away blackheads and other nasties. I choose to use it as a nose treatment as that’s where I have blackheads but I did go so far as using it all over my face as well since I was curious what sort of results I’d have as it does contain Tea Tree Oil which is great for mattifying skin.
I read a few reviews that said this hurt terribly when peeled off but I either have bulletproof skin or these people are super sensitive. It peels away fairly easy and doesn’t hurt or sting or burn in anyway. At least not for me.
Now the results aren’t so great sadly. As an all over treatment mask it works fairly well at soaking up excess oil but do keep in mind I’m not mega, slippery slidey oily. It mattifies my skin fairly well and my skin feels very nice the day after use so it’s a great night time treatment prior to bed. As for blackheads on my nose it’s a no go. It didn’t clear up those pesky buggers in the least and they are still happily sitting on my nose. Yuk!
Overall, I’d say it’s a fairly nice all over mask as it makes my skin feel quite refreshed and glowy after use and does a decent job of soaking up excess oil. As for a nose treatment I’d say it’s a fail. It’s fairly inexpensive so it won’t break the bank to give a try for yourself. You might have better results than I did but for now I’m going to continue hunting for the cheapest and best way to get rid of those two stubborn blackheads on the tip my nose!
As you know I recently hauled a few bits at The Body Shop one item of which was The Body Shop RoseFlower Blush 02 which was on sale. A few readers requested a review to see what it looked like on.
Here you go chicas!
As you can see it’s a very pretty flush of color. Do look around your local Body Shop as there many be some to haul or I’ve seen a few on Evil-bay that aren’t badly priced.
Anyone haul it?
Several days ago I was telling you The Body Shop had a super sale
going on with it’s cosmetics. Online all Body Shop Cosmetics were 3 for $10, pretty sweet deal. I passed The Body Shop last week and ran across their sale display and check it, the deal is sweeter in store. The sale is 5 for $10 bucks in store, likey! They had a whole lot of everything in the store I went to which was surprising as at these prices you’d think it would either be all destroyed or long gone. Guess the economy even stops us from great sales at this point, how sad.
Although much of what was offered I either wasn’t into or had already I still dug around in the bins and came up with a few bits and bobs I hauled home with me!
Jump ahead for my Body Shop haul!
I honestly only seen one item I truly wanted in the sale bins which was The Body Shop RoseFlower Blush in 02. I already have 01 and it’s a tad bit sheer but this is a bubbly rose shade that I absolutely fell for at my first glance when it popped onto the scene. I’m happy to have nabbed it on sale. The original price was $20 and they had it marked down for $10 bucks or pick 5 items for $10. I only wanted the blush but since it was pick 5 items for $10 bucks I thought of it as just getting the other four items for free.
I ended up getting the following bits and bobs.
Body Shop Lipstick in some unknown color, looks like maybe it was released last Summer? Not sure. It’s a metallic burnt orange shade, quite pretty really for Summer.
I snatched up one of the Spring shades from the Moroccan Rose Collection
which I actually have
but decided to double up on as these lippies were really special.
The Body Shop Liquid Lip Color in 03? Not much help shade wise but it’s a rather pretty maroon that will look lovely in the Fall or Winter.
And The Body Shop Lip Click Gloss in a very, very pretty metallic red shade which dupes MAC Royal Romp rather nicely.
I was pretty impressed with the offerings and the great price tag. The Body Shop’s semi-annual sale was particularly great this year for hauling bath and body products or cosmetic items. Def head in store for a peek at what’s left in your shop as it’s ending soon.
Anyone haul from The Body Shop?
What steals and deals did you end up with?
Tell the Muse!
Steal some of The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Collection
and a slew of other cosmetic goodies for the bargain price of any three items for $10 bucks! Sweetness! They even have that sparkle palette I was ga-ga over
from the Holiday Collection.
Can I tell you, at one time in my life I didn’t like palettes! Gasp! Horror! I know right? I’d so go for single shadows, tons of glosses, heaps of lipstick but never went for palettes at all. The only palettes I would buy for a very long, long time was Dior Limited Edition ones, this was back when Dior was making some seriously ridiculously girly palettes.
I was of the mentality that palettes were messy and didn’t really give me what I wanted, etc….
As for now?
I’m an addict. I’m absolutely palette mad. It’s not even so much that most palettes get you the best bang for your buck, it’s just more of an “Oh My God! That’s Gorg! Must haves it!” Do you ever feel that way about palettes? Shrugs could be just me.
Moral of this story is that The Body Shop actually has a brand new palette they released with their Summer Collection. I know, who knew? The Body Shop and a palette? I don’t think I’ve ever seen them do a palette quite like this….!
Check it after the jump!

- The Body Shop Super Volume Mascara
- The Body Shop Liquid Lip Colors in Pink Sparkle and Golden Coral
- The Body Shops Cheek Color in Golden Pink
- The Body Shop Eyeshadows in Shell, Pink, Spearmint, and Slate
- Plus a mini blusher and shadow brush!
All the items above come housed in a slick, black box with a little ribbon closure that sports The Body Shop emblem. The shades are pretty universal so you can use them just about anytime of the year. The blush is quite an interesting shade and reminds me of NARS Orgasm but a good deal more pigmented so use lightly. The shadows you get are creamy white, black, soft teal, and pink. These are all velvet texture and are a chalky but still manage to apply nicely to the lid, quite smooth and buttery in texture with plenty of pigmentation. The glosses are a nice little extra. They aren’t terribly glossy and they are sheer but they lend a little twinkle and shine to lips plus having them tucked inside makes the palette complete for eyes, lips, and cheeks! The mascara may be mini but it packs a rather large, bushy applicator brush which does a very good job of lengthening lashes and adding nice volume. I was kinda shocked with this as I never tried Body Shop mascara prior to this and the small size had me worried it wouldn’t be so good, but good it was. Both brushes included are super soft although the blusher blush is a tad small to do my face with but I found that it worked a treat for blending my shadow hehe!
You can get any number of looks from the palette and it’s rather ideal for travel considering how strict the airlines are. If you like softer, pastel shades or you’re just a lover of palettes this should appeal.
The Body Shop Eye, Lip, and Cheek Palette is available now at http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com or visit your local Body Shop to swatch and have a play! I know mine was offering free make overs using the palette and the Summer Collection if you’re interested!
I did two looks for you using the palette. The first look I used the creamy white as a highbrow highlighter, the pink on my lid, and a bit of the sheer aqua on my lower lash line and finished with Pink Sparkle gloss on my lips. The second photo I used the aqua all over my lid, you know how addicted I am to anything that’s aqua! Both photos I am using The Body Shop mascara.
Anyone see this yet?
