The Muse hearts Urban Decay in a major way and boy is she excited about the Spring release….well hello have you heard they are releasing a Primer Potion in Sin? So Yummie!
Check out the deets on the complete line up for Urban Decay Spring 2009 after the jump!
Man, can I tell you that Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Midnight Cowboy is my absolute staple shadow? And now a new lipstick in freaking Midnight Cowboy?
My heart just dropped into the bottom of my shoes.
For the lovers of Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliners you can snatch up four new shades to add to your stash! The Muse has her eye on Graffiti and Flipside!
Get your glitter on with Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liners in four new shades! Loves those!
Back…by popular demand maybe? Urban Decay is revisiting cream shadows with 12 new shades! These were introduced a while ago and axed from the line up! If you loved ‘em, here they are again and if you missed ‘em, time to snatch them up!
And finally, the cherry on this Muse’s cake, Urban Decay Primer Potion in Sin! I so love to sin…don’t you? A shimmering potion that acts as a cream shadow or a base! This be true love for the Muse! Gots to have it!
So what do think of Urban Decay’s Spring line up?
What are you hauling?
What are you skipping?
What do you absolutely have to have?
Name it below! The Muse is all ears…and eyes….
It feels like the year virtually flew by doesn’t it? It’s been a great year for makeup that’s for sure! My year end favorite post is upcoming shortly but I thought we could reflect on a few things first!
Some of the questions I asked myself as I was reflecting were the following:
The Muse will place her answers here and you can answer, if you like, in the comment field below! Can’t wait to hear your thoughts on this!
I think I have to take myself all the way back to Spring 2008 to get a good idea of my very favorite collection of the year. The Etude House My Lovely Face Collection (aka Peach Collection) was my absolute favorite of the year! And it’s no wonder with it’s great packaging, fresh peachy shades, and incredible Pore Erasing Peach Base! This was by far my fav of the year! Etude House Spring 2009 I Can’t Help Smiling is simply adorably but in the Muse’s opinion it isn’t nearly as kawaii as last year’s collection!
In reflecting on my tastes and whether they have changed or not from last year I’d have to say a loud YES! I embraced more natural looks this year, got really excited about nudes and neutrals, and just dramatically altered my normal bold looks to include some very mature ones! So yes indeed my tastes have changed a tad bit. This doesn’t mean I don’t still adore bold looks but I have to say I’ve surprised myself with the amount of natural makeup I’ve taken on lately!
Unquestionably my greatest cosmetic find of the year was NARS Blush in Super Orgasm! I’ve heard rants and I’ve heard hate but I simply adored it. For me it was pure perfection! Not that it tops Super Orgasm but discovering that Urban Decay Primer has a SLEW of product left in the bottle after slicing it open is definitely a highlight of my year as well!
I can’t say so much if I embraced any trends this year. I kinda march to the beat of my own drum and I’m not one for embracing a trend but more along the lines of doing my own thing! One trend I definitely couldn’t get a handle on, no mater how hard I tried, was the vampy lip! I tried with MAC Binge and tried again with the Lancome Piha Collection but it just didn’t work on this Muse!
I’d be a liar if I said I wasn’t somewhat excited about the MAC Hello Kitty Collection! Although I made up my own little ideas about how this collection should look, I do find myself getting more and more antsy for it’s release as I am eager to see it in person for myself. Yes, I know I’ll be disappointed but I just can’t seem to shake the feeling that maybe, just maybe, it’ll be great! I’m also excited to see what the Summer has in store for us! Summer releases are a great time to stock up on bold shades so of course I look forward to what MAC, Urban Decay, and other brands have on the menu for the warmer weather!
Now it’s your turn…..
Tell the Muse all about what you loved and hated in 2008?
What your greatest find was?
What trends you embraced?
Ahh variety, the spice of this Muse’s life.
No, not this spice!
Yeah, well you’re either a geek and totally laughed at that or you’re clueless (Helpful Hint)!
It’s Friends and Family Discount time at Urban Decay! 30% Off your total purchase! Ahhh everyone run around in a frenzy and scream!
I know, I know tis exciting!
In honor of good times at Urban Decay the Muse brings you a review of the brand spanking new Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box! Now you can really run around in a frenzy and get excited!
This new palette contains ten delicious shades of Urban Decay shadow but that’s not all! You also get a mini Urban Decay Primer Potion as well! Ahhh life is good isn’t it?
The Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box contains all of the following shadows:
- YDK (Mocha with Gold Shimmer)
- Flipside (Teal)
- Grifter (Lilac with Silver Shimmer)
- Uzi (Metallic Silver)
- Twiced Baked (Dark Brown with Gold Shimmer)
- Midnight Cowboy Rides Again
- Flash (Bright Purple)
- Oil Slick (Black with Silver Shimmer)
- Kiddie Pool (Ocean Blue)
- Half Baked (Golden Bronze)
The Muse was thinking she should contact Urban Decay and have this renamed to “The Muse’s Box of Favorite Shadows”….has a certain ring to it dontcha think? Most of the shades included in this palette are my top favs from Urban Decay so it’s super nice having them all tucked away in one palette! Great for travel! Likey!
The palette retails for $36 USD but since it’s 30% Off you’ll get it for $25 USD which is $2.50 USD per a shadow….um can you say super deal? If you’re new to Urban Decay eyeshadow here in lays a great excuse to try the shadows out! The shadows have always been a favorite of mine even way before I was a MAC junkie and they remain on the top of my Must Have At All Costs list (another words if I needed desert island essentials…Urban Decay Eyeshadow comes before food and water!). The shadows are pigmented and contain a super dose of wonderful shimmer!
The palette is carefully constructed to avoid a mess which I can appreciate. It has a slick and beautiful bamboo cover that slides upwards to reveal the shadows. Swatch, swipe, and apply with the included brush (although the brush is a tiny bit small so you might want to use your own brush) and simply slide the cover back into place for storage! The design on the cover is a beautiful floral with butterflies and the Urban Decay logo!
I created three separate looks using the palette but honestly you can get at least twenty separate looks or more if you’re creative!
Uzi and Kiddie Pool
Half Baked and Twice Baked
Grifter and Flash
Honestly, the Urban Decay Sustainable Shadow Box is well worth checking out and Muse Approved for purchase! It’ll make an ideal gift for a makeup lover or seriously you know you so want it for yourself! Rather then purchase each shadow individually might as well indulge in this and get ten super shades plus a Urban Decay Primer Potion!
The Muse loves it and thinks you will too!

Now is a great time to stock up on palettes, shadows, and more at a 30% savings! Yay! I’m going over to have a look in a few seconds but before I do I thought I’d review one of the Best of Urban Decay Gift Sets for you!
You might have guessed that the Muse loves to match so of course gift sets that contain an array of matching items are always appealing! The new Best of Urban Decay Baked Gift Set contains everything you need to create a sizzling hot Holiday eye look by combining Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Baked, Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner, Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Bourbon, and Urban Decay Primer Potion all for $32 USD (and just think at 30% off that would be $22 USD or so!).
Even though these sets were introduced for the Holiday the Muse feels like the Best of Urban Decay Baked Gift Set is ideal for the Fall as the color combination reminds me of falling leaves! Baked eyeshadow is a shimmering bronze shade that matches up perfectly with the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Bourbon and topped with a bit of Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Baked you’ll be smoking!
To create my look below I used Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Baked all over my lid and crease, lined my lower waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner in Bourbon, and completed my look by lining my upper lash line with Urban decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliner in Baked. Since I was busy being Baked I brushed some Urban Decay Baked Bronzer on my cheeks as well!
If you fancy a bit of a warmer feel to your Holiday looks you should definitely check out the Best of Urban Decay Baked Gift Set and at 30% off who could go wrong? The Muse adores it and thinks you will too! Muse Approved for purchase all the way!
