Fall Collections 2009
Oh. my. god. The Muse is so about the Bobbi Brown Ivy League Collection! I told you a bit about the collection yesterday and popped a sneak peek of my FOTD today on Twitter.
For Fall the bold, green eye look is too entirely flattering for brown eyes in my humblest. Putting aside the preppy factor and just rejoicing over such a true, gorgeous shade of forest green is enough to make me dance around in circles of joy.
Check it after the jump!
So far I’ve only gotten my hands on Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow in Golden Leaf but I want to haul the other emerald green shade that is being released. The texture of the shadow is super smooth, blends beautifully, and is deeply pigmented, delish! Although it’s a shimmer wash shadow it still manages to have a velvet-like finish with a subtle hint of golden sparkle. Too pretty.
To accompany the greens in the collection a new Bobbi Brown Long Wear Gel Eyeliner in Forest Shimmer Ink was created. The color has a dominate brown note but also has the deeper aspects of a golden olive green. The shade is perfectly suited to the two shadows released and could possibly work as both a liner and a base.
I also told you about the new Bobbi Brown Creamy Eye Pencils. I got one in brown plum. Quite a nice, moisturizing pencil that glides on smoothly without skipping and smudges like a dream. For my look today I didn’t use the pencil but I have a future FOTD planned with it.
Honestly for me the stars of this show are the Forest Shimmer Ink Gel Liner and the two new shadows, particularly Golden Leaf. Although I favor a warm look in the Fall that’s made up of browns, golds, and occasionally oranges I can’t deny that such a deep, dark green is utterly flattering and fitting for the season.
Well done Bobbi. Another incredible line up.
For my look below I simply used Golden Leaf eye shadow all over my lid and crease followed up with Forest Shimmer Ink liner on my waterline. You can see how dramatic the look is, it obviously speaks for itself that a simple wash of shadow on my lids and a little lining created a bold, beautiful look! Also as promised a close up of my eye using Urban Decay Eye Lash Primer and Urban Decay Skyscraper Mascara…I think you can see the results are quite nice when the two are combined.
Excited as I am about all that green?
Spotted: Bobbi Brown going preppy by duping Blair Waldorf snappy little look!
Hey Upper Eastsiders! Bobbi Brown Ivy League Collection brings a fresh new spin on the strong Fall eye look using a dominate shade of forest green to capture the spirit of the season!
Check it below!
Whether you’re going manly chic this season, dark and goth (‘ello black lipstick and gloss!), or heading for the halls of Constance Billard School for Girls, makeup collections far and wide are embracing all sorts of incredible looks to suit all your looks this season.
Bobbi Brown is embracing it’s preppy side with a strong, bold eye look that has a certain preppy “tweed” look about it. With a scholarly feel this look should get you from the office to the evening in a flash.
Brand New Bobbi Brown Creamy Eye Pencils ($20) come in a range of shades with a built in smudger so you can go straight or smoked with a quick dab!
Back by popular demand (I know of love ‘em) and part of the permanent collection, Bobbi Brown Lip Crayons ($22) will spice up your Fall look with a swipe of pigmented color.
Nothing adds mysterious to my eyes like a gorgeous shade of green. Bobbi Brown Forest Shimmer Ink Long-Wear Gel Liner ($21) has that Ivy League flair with a shimmering forest green and golden pearl.
Two brand new limited edition Bobbi Brown Eye Shadows ($20) in Autumn Shimmer Wash Eye Shadow and Bash Metallic Eye Shadow will lend you a ticket to be first in class with your gorgeous green lids.
Although small it strikes me as a beautiful collection. I’m particularly interested in both eye shadows and the gel liner. The overall look is pretty chic while the green brings the season in very nicely for me. I’m a big lover of green on my eyes as it really makes my rather large, buggy brown eyes look mysterious and dare I say seduction so I’m looking forward to trying my hand with these items soon.
What do you think?
Not so into the prep scene?

Bobbi Brown Ivy League will hit counters and Bobbi’s site in August but I’ll have the sneak peek and swatches for you this week!
has the deets on the new Twilight inspired cosmetic collection. We already knew that DuWop was busy creating something special for us in the works that was Twilight themed but I don’t think ANYONE has realized how big a collection this is turning out to be.

Yes well call me what you will but I’m a fan of Twilight so I’m excited to see how this line turns out. My original thought was DuWop would create a small selection of items to pair up with the new V Gloss they introduced earlier this month. Nope, not the case. It’s even bigger and better than that!
The beauty line actually consists of two separate collections. It’s actually entitled Twilight Beauty so they are taking this above and beyond a simple release from one brand.
Twilight Beauty will launch two different lines of cosmetics which will be entitled Luna Twilight and Volturi Twilight. The two lines will be available with the second film’s release this Fall.
Spoiled Pretty reports that Esmy Manica and Kimbery Clark of All About Beauty and Cristina Bartolucci, the founder and Creative Director of DuWop Cosmetics, are part of the development team behind the Twilight Beauty Cosmetic Line.
The line will include over 70 products!!!!!! Holy cow! That’s a brand all in itself so you can see how interesting this is shaping up to be.
Luna Twilight is inspired by the female characters of the books with an array of soft, natural beauty looks and stunning, fierce ones. Some products will include First Light Body and Face Glow and Gleam Metallic Mascara.
Volturi Twilight is inspired by the Volturi family crest. The line features Foreshadow Primer which is coupled with a loose glitter dust called Labrynth Shadows. These loose powder shadows are supposedly highly pigmented and are housed in stackable pots providing the ability to mix and match colors.
Luna Twilight will be available September 15, 2009 at Dillard’s and Nordstrom. Volturi Twilight will be available September 15, 2009 through specialty retailers. Both lines will be sold at TwilightBeauty.com, the exclusive website for both brands.
I’m highly interested in checking this out for myself as I’m curious about colors, products, and prices.
What do you think?
Love the idea of an entire line dedicateto Twilight?

With plenty of chic menswear-inspired looks showing up in Fall Fashion collections it isn’t any surprise that cosmetic lines would follow along with smashing releases to suit these couture options.

The Muse is all about geeky, chic menswear. It’s been in her wardrobe for the last few seasons along with a good pair of high top chucks to take it that extra step further, wink! I’m looking forward to this collection as I’m enjoying all the tweed browns and shades of olive green I’m seeing as of late. It really screams Fall to me.
